Thoroughly recommend Barton Springs Painting. This is the 3rd time I have used them and Jeff and his crew did another great job. This time it was the full interior except the kitchen. Nearly 2 full days of prep work and taping/sealing off the floors/ceilings/cabinets before Oscar and the others starting applying their brushes. They are punctual, meticulous in their work and clean up behind them leaving no traces behind. I love the fact that toward the end of the project they provide you with a roll of painters tape and you can go around the house and mark off with the tape any areas that you think need a touch up, no questions asked. I hired Barton Springs Painting to paint the exterior of my house. On the 9th day of work for a 5 day project, I had to let them go, after repeated attempts to correct the problems. After they applied the 2nd coat of paint, the paint began almost immediately to peel all the coats of paint off my siding, down to the wood. They first tried to correct the problem by just spraying another layer of paint on top of the peeling paint--it didn't work. They added elastomerics and/or water to the paint before spraying, and the excess moisture (in addition to painting while it was too wet outside), caused the paint to peel. The Benjamin Moore paint did not need any additives in order to spray paint, according to the company. They were much better at making promises about correcting the problems than they were about actually knowing how to do it. Even on the last day of work, they were still trying to start painting again before finishing the re-prepping of the scraping off of peeling paint. Not only I am out a LOT of money, but their work caused unsightly damage to my house, which is going to cost $2500-$3500 to repair by another company. Jeff tried to tell me that it was my siding that needed replacing, not his work. However, I have been making repairs myself on the 3 sides of the house that I can reach. After cleaning, scraping, wirebrushing, caulking, priming and painting, NONE of my work is peeling. So I don't think it is the siding that is the problem.... read more

Jeff and his team are truly excellent at what they do. Jeff came out personally to walk through the home with me and assess the scope of work, and provided some advice on paint type and color selection, since I'd never had a whole home painted before. Jeff also made me aware of the color consulting services that his team provides, although we didn't use them. His price was in line with my expectations and competitive with some of the other quotes I got, but I had a better feeling about working with Jeff than some of the others that tried for my business. Once I'd selected my colors and set a date, the team showed up right as scheduled, introduced themselves, and got right to work. They spent plenty of time very carefully preparing and protecting the home, and did a great job of that. They painted my whole downstairs - kitchen/greatroom, entry way, and one powder bath - over two days. Mistakes were very minor and quickly corrected, and when I noticed a few spots where the thick paint and heavy texture caused tiny (near-microscopic) missed spots, Jeff personally reviewed and corrected them the next day. I'm nearing being ready to paint the rest of my house, and I will be calling on Jeff's team again for sure. The downstairs has been done for several months, and now that I've lived with it a while, I'm so pleased with the job that Barton Springs Painting did. Update- After leaving my review, the owner of this business sent me intimidating (repeated) messages via Yelp insisting we needed to 'meet in person' and also put my address in the note to let me know they knew where I lived. Ironically they had both the address and my name wrong. Original review- They say they're not "Superman" - it's just rude to take someone's time and break an appointment. You never tell a customer that others are more important! ---They replied to my review so as to deflect blame on me. Truth is they made the appointment KNOWING we had a time crunch, I was clear upfront about- then they canceled at the last minute. When my wife and I contacted Barton Springs Painting, Jeff himself got back to us within 24 hours, came by to take a look at the project within two days, and had everything in motion by the following Monday. Our house went from looking like an outdated disaster area to having all the charm of a modern home within a span of 36 hours. Jeff charged us his own costs for materials (very affordable paint and primer rates) and got the job done exceptionally well. To give a sense of the work completed, we had just had insulation put in the walls and there were resurfaced bore holes everywhere, black hand marks on the ceiling (left from the past crew's work), and the walls themselves were a pleasant, if quaint, yellow. Jeff's team came in, refinished and resurfaced the marked up areas, and painted multiple coats on the walls, leaving the house looking strangely new. I contracted them to remove my popcorn ceiling and paint the interior of my home. They did NOT cover to protect my furniture, my hardwood floors, light fixtures, or smoke detectors. When they removed my ceiling fans, they destroyed them and I had to replace them. They left two gouges in my hardwood flooring, and left paint drippings on my furniture and EVERY light switch and plug outlet was painted over. They were the most expensive bid I received so I incorrectly assumed they would be the best. When I originally bought my home several years ago, Jeff provided some fantastic consultations for me on how I could handle painting over existing wallpaper that would have been hellish to remove because of its age.
