I explained the party and our expectations, and he assured me that he would note my name on the calendar for that day. I offered to send a deposit, but he said it wasn't necessary. Now, just a week away from my event, I called him again to confirm, and he informed me that he has another event in Perris, and his son has one in Riverside, while my event is in Los Angeles! I reminded him that he had previously told me the day was reserved for my event. He apologized and suggested that he could prepare the churros in advance and provide them in trays for me. However, I wanted the experience of having them cooked fresh in front of my guests. I could easily go to any Mexican bakery and buy churros, which would probably be cheaper. This situation has been very stressful, especially since finding someone available on such short notice is difficult. Although he was the most economical option I could find, I now realize that cheaper does not always mean more reliable or professional. I am very disappointed with Churros Camilo and feel that my event has been treated dismissively.
