Buttermold soup
Michele S.

I just spent $8 on soup and it had mold on top...super disappointed. Probably safe to say I won't be a returning customer.

a close up of a mouth with a missing tooth

I would give them 0 stars !!!! The tall Middle Eastern man with the glasses is rude.He will close his cashier when it's time to serve you. He also has a complex about doing his job. I only mentioned his ethnicity because I've heard them be racist. He will close his cashier, when it's your turn and then start talking to the next cashier while they are helping you, which distracts from you being able to purchase. Some of the rudest people. Their products are low quality for the price. I see rats running around on top of their products all the time and I chipped my two front teeth on their salad. A lot of their food is expired. You would think they were Upscale for the prices they charge. They are overcharging you for a lot of items. Have to be careful. I also chipped two of my front teeth from their salad. I live on the same block as this terrible place. There are also rats running all over this store !!!

Rude cashier who always upcharges what it says on the sign, but will give you the right price if you insist.

It's disgusting. It's unclean. And the service is rude. What other reasons do you need to stay away?

This review is for the pasta making class with cheese tasting. This was my second class at…read moreMurray's. I've also taken many cooking classes at other spots- Taste Buds being my fave. This class just did not need the standards of other classes I've gone to. The reason I gave this 3-stars is because what you get for $100 is just not worth the price, plus the final product was inedible. The class consists of giving you flour and eggs to make the pasta, then roll it (which was super rushed), a "cheese tasting" (three tiny portions of cheese with some pesto) and unlimited wine (sparking white and red). You then bring the pasta home to cook it (with the instructions to use a fork if you haven't had enough time to roll your dough, which some didn't). I made the pasta when I got home and it was completely inedible as was the person's I went with. The instructor was nice and the room is beautiful, which is why I added a few stars. They're also great about making sure that your wine is filled up. Overall, I would not recommend for this price, especially when the end product was a throwaway.

They also have various meats, pastas, olives, pickled vegetables. Anything you'd need to make a cheese board. Though they also have pre-made boards for when you're in a pinch. They also have butters, oils, sauces, marinades. Fresh breads, honeys, chocolates, coffees and teas. They have cheesemongers throughout the store, just waiting to help you out and find your dream cheeses! They also have a snack counter/small cafe where you can try dishes made with their cheeses (like a Mac n cheese bar, grilled cheese, etc). Murray's also ships cheeses and products. And they have classes to teach you about cheese, wine, and charcuterie!

This location is headquarters of the importer, which slaps their various brand names on a bunch of…read moredifferent cheeses and other products imported from Italy, Spain, Portugal, and elsewhere in the Mediterranean. I don't think they actually milk the goats or wash the rinds, if that's what you're asking. Nor do they have a company retail shop as far as I know, at least not here. Nevertheless, I have had so much pleasure over the years their cheeses in my local shops and restaurants, now called Mitica (meaning "myth") here in the US, that I want to give them a shout-out here. What prompted this was a small sliver of Campo de Montalban I picked up from the "odds and ends" bin at Whole Foods, that happened to be perfectly paired with a bourbon-barrel aged heirloom cider I also bought there, it was a lot like the Spanish cheese Mancheco but more rounded for me with a little funkiness in addition to the nutty taste. Anyway, it was one of those peak cheese moments. Several other Mitica cheeses are on my go-to list, so all I can say is Thank You!!! FWIW they have started to import other mediterranean products like olive oil, chocolate, and so on, but are mostly known for cheese.
