I like coming here and running my dogs through the area because it's usually empty in the daytime. Every time I've been here, I've noticed it is kept clean and the grass well maintained. It's mostly just a field of grass, but there is a very small area with a swingset and some other kiddie play things. The only time I don't like coming here is after a decent rain. The rain floods the ENTIRE area. :-(

My son plays every week when the season starts and I've only smelled that awful poo, literally, once. If dogs are strolling around up here and lay a mound of poo, I imagine you can get a whiff of that too. Hopefully dog owners bring a baggie for picking that up because stepping in it would not be cool. Lots of kids out here too, playing on the grass. I enjoy watching my son play baseball here or when he has practice. Concession stand is open during games as well as a snow cone truck parked on site for an ice cold treat. There's a mini playground area that's great for the littles. Basketball court, soccer and baseball fields, trail for exercise/stroll. It's well kept & well lit.

I've been here probably a dozen or so times and played a handful of pickup basketball games, jogged on the miles of clean a s well kept trails, played games of both singles and doubles tennis, as well as the pool. A few noteworthy points that give this park four stars are the fact this park has working water fountains, the grounds and trails are clean of litter and trash, and the tennis courts are lighted. You should plan ahead if you're planning to swim because the pool is only open between June 1-Aug 11 with afternoon hours only, this pool isn't open in the mornings. Also, ages 12+ costs $2 while 11 and under is $1.

This tennis courts has court lights that keep the courts lit for evening tennis sessions all year long. I understand safety rules, but the way the staff handled it was completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Instead of giving a warning or calmly explaining the policy, the staff member went out of his way to insult me personally--saying things like "people like me go to jail" and making unnecessary comments about not being in college. That has nothing to do with paintball or safety and crossed a serious line. This was supposed to be a fun, memorable day. Instead, I was disrespected, humiliated, and sent away after paying $65. I don't recommend this place to anyone, especially schools or groups bringing students. They don't know how to talk to young people with respect.

Parking is also easy and very close to the play area and structure.The park has a neighborhood feel as one side of it abuts some homes. The playground itself is on par with other playgrounds. There is a swing set with both toddler and child swings. Additionally, there are multiple large structures to climb with multiple slides and the equipment was in good condition. The par 3s are longer than normal and it makes them a little harder which I like and don't like. Some of the greens are really rough and look like they had maintenance mishaps but the fairways are pretty standard for most public courses in the DFW area. Only have two complaints. The price ($75 on weekends) I think is a little high for our area and what it is. It's not a Plano/Frisco level course. Second issue is food and bev service. I don't think they have cart girls and they have a snack shack midway through but it's rarely open earlier than 11. If you have an early tee time you just have to wait for the turn.

Miss the fairway and can easily lose your ball as it sits down so much. 3) GREENS ARE HORRIBLE! They are so bad from the wasp digging holes in them that the greenskeeper was out there this morning with leaf blower blowing them. Had to skip one green completely as there was just to many wasp to consider playing. (Probably 40+ swarming). On top of that there was practically no grass on them. All in all if they recover the greens, this course would be unbelievable.

I prefer the field that is closest to the parking lot though but I'm probably bias because we tend to win more on that field. The outfields are a little rough. The outfield sits on an incline and it is perfect for the person that can hit that far but hard for the person running to get the ball. There are no bathrooms but they do have an outhouse for your personal needs. The parking lot is a little small so when it gets busy you will have an issue finding a parking space. There is plenty of parking across the street if you can't find a parking space. My only grip about this place is that the mosquitoes are very disrespectful!! You can spray yourself down, cover yourself in plastic and be fully clothed, you will still get bitten. It would be nice if someone can spray out there to help deter these determined mosquitoes.
