She was very attentive, friendly, personable and best bartender we have had in a while! We go out and try new places every Friday. Have yet to find a spot we would visit again until now! Great spot in Farmington for a burger! Came with family and friends for dinner while in town. Had a couple drinks, burgers, and fries! Also a great concept to just check off what you want on the menu. The servers are there and helpful if you have any questions, but it is nice to fill out the menu and hand it back to them. The restaurant has a lot of seating and probably looks like what you were expecting when you read the name. The staff is friendly, however it did take a bit to be served and sat since the place was so busy on a Friday night. Definitely keep that in mind if you decide to check it out. read more

Wow!!!! Some of my favorite wings I've never had. This was my first visit to the Basement Burger Bar and decided to try the Honey Siracha Wings off of their specials menu. Sooooo so good. Burgers were great, service was ok, the waitresses spent most of their time flirting with a table of teenage boys. The lighting was very dark (I get it's a basement), and after asking to have the lights turned up, we were told no problem, but they remained the same. Pretty interesting place in the basement level of a building in downtown Farmington. Plenty of TVs to watch sports and a pretty decent beer selection. If it weren't for the incredibly long wait, I'd give 5 Stars. Food was AMAZING!! The kitchen had a tough time with the build-your-own burgers. Tasty and fresh for sure, and cooked to perfection. Hormone free and antibiotic free. We waited about 5-10 mins before anyone acknowledged we sat at a table. Then after our 2 friends joined us, the 4 of us spent about 15 mins figuring out our order. Then after we ordered, it took over an hour before we received our food. Thankfully, we gave ourselves almost 2 hours before our event started across the street. We had to scarf down our order, pay, and boogie. Two of our orders were missing items. Mine was missing avocado and our friend's was missing fries. They adjusted our check so all was good but we were stressing about not getting to our event on time. Everything turned out ok. If you have somewhere to go afterwards, be sure to account for possible delays. All things considered, we would come back again, the food was that good. The food was good. The fries were the best though. They were crispy on the outside and like mashed potatoes inside. The burgers were all cooked to perfection each person at my table ordered it a different temperature and it all came up correctly. Onion rings left a little something to be desired they were definitely overcooked to the point of not even having an onion inside. And I'm not sure how I feel about all the a la carte editions as far as toppings. But the service was great The atmosphere was nice lots of TVs to watch sports plenty of creative alcoholic beverages. We were acknowledged as soon as we entered. Husband ordered the Wegovy beef burger. Daughter and I ordered the smash double burgers. First off, the menu stated that the smash burgers are for only a limited time....we think they should be a permanent part of the menu. We were both very pleased. I came to BBB one night with a group of friends. They were very accommodating to a large party who showed up on a whim. We had a variety of food which everyone seemed to enjoy. My daughter wanted a burger and we headed to Basement. First they told us there was a wait. Fair enough. We added our name to the list (3rd one down). You know that you are lucky to get even warm food that way. So I decided to visit the restaurant to try it again. I ordered the same burger but with half order of sweet potato fries. The service was good and friendly. All the sides are good, but the burgers to me is average at best. I have had much better BBQ bacon cheeseburgers at 5 Guys and Bagger Dave's. The burger was just too think and it over powered the cheese and bacon. Both burgers had not enough sauce so that added taste was also lost. I didn't even eat much of my sides when I was eating the burger because I an not a large eater. If you enjoy the bar vibe with lots of TVS and rotating beers, this is the place for you. I've went to the BBB in canton many time and loved it! Was out in Farmington for an appt so a friend and I decided to stop in. From the moment we got there it was awful. There were two of us and the host kept telling us to sit at the bar. We said we don't see two seats? She said right there! So I walked over and there was only one open chair....ok.... Figured I was missing something. Then she said we would have to sit outside which was fine. Got out there and there was a 4 top out there. Sat down and ordered drinks. We ordered our food a couple minutes after. Then about 35 minutes goes by... we ordered two salads. Totally understand the kitchen being backed up. Then realized the 4 top next to us had not eaten yet either. Wow , then a two top sat next to us. Needless to say they got their food before us. We saw the servers for both other tables so many times. I think our server came out 3x. Our salads came, I had grilled chicken. It was so hard a rubbery I couldn't eat it. Wish we would have had a heads up that our food would take over an hour to come out, I would've at least been more understanding but our server didn't even say anything. At this point basement burger bar is a well-known commodity in the metro Detroit area. In a city full of options, this has consistently been the best hamburger in town for me. I love the fact that they have so many Protane, cheese, and toppings options. Every combination I've ever tried has always been perfect. On this most recent visit I went with a buffalo burger topped with smoked Gouda and garlic aïoli. I practically licked the plate. The experience is always relaxed and enjoyable with many televisions always tune to sports. I could easily spend an afternoon here enjoying a few beers and watching sports. What's great about this location is that you can head upstairs to the 1up Arcade Bar for even more drinks + games after you eat. If you're going to come here chances are you'll end up getting a burger and they're plenty of options to choose from ranging from like most burger spots. You can order a beef, chicken, pork, black bean, and even an impossible burger. In addition they're a number of toppings/extras/condiments to choose from. My favorite combination is the Impossible Burger, on a Pretzel Bun with American cheese, Dijon mustard, Lettuce, Jalapeños, Red Onion and Avocado. Fries are Always a great extra, especially their sweet potato fries. The service is always great and their servers are very personable. With tons of options, great burgers and friendly BB is definitely worth checking out. read more

Both times the food was great - would give 10 stars if available. The service? Meh. The wait staff was technically polite; not rude or anything. But, very inattentive and not at all friendly. Gave the whole place the vibe of, "I hate my job and don't to be here." I'm not a restaurateur, but I'm just going to take a wild guess and say, that's probably not the vibe you want to give off? So I proceeded to call the restaurant to inform them that my bf was in the lobby waiting for a carry out and they ask me are you sure he's at the right location I said yes he's the only one in the lobby. They put me on hold and then I got a text saying that someone finally came out with it but it had been sitting in the back for a good 10 minutes or so. It's located below the arcade bar above it. I loved the way they do the menu where you check off items on the menu to construct your perfect burger. I've been here a couple times and it's becoming a staple for when I travel to that area for business. The service is great. We got there 15 minutes before closing the kitchen and were not turned away! We were informed we had to decide before they close up, but I think that's respectable for them and my party to consider. It's a cozy bar with TVs available all around. It has a front and back entrance for if you're coming from the street or going around the back parking lot. We were all highly impressed by this place, and this was my first time at the Farmington location - I have been to the Detroit location before, but only once, for a Yelp event a few years ago, and all of the food was good that time. I opted to do the "make your own burger" choice, and they have a huge selection of proteins - I got the regular house burger blend, but they also have Kobe "style" beef, falafel, grilled chicken, and even the Impossible Burger. From there you can choose to customize your burger, with some freebie options and some add-ons; for example, lettuce and pickle and tomato and things like that are free, but grilled mushrooms were an additional 75 cents, I believe. I got my burger with pickles, tomatoes, onions, 1000 Island dressing, and grilled mushrooms, on a pretzel bun (+$1), and it was delicious, albeit HUGE. The burger itself was also juicy and cooked to a perfect medium, as the manager pointed out when he stopped by our table. My dad didn't want a burger today so he decided to get the chicken parmesan sliders, which he enjoyed; my mom did the make your own burger and got hers with grilled chicken, BBQ sauce, and a few other add-ons, including cranberries. Both of us especially enjoyed the sweet potato fries, as it came with some kind of crack dipping sauce (a sweet cinnamon dipping sauce, which was fantastic). Total bill for 3 people would have been $30 which is pretty reasonable, too. The reason we stopped by is because my dad won a $15 gift certificate online, so our bill was only $15 because of that, before tip. Even with all the coronavirus stuff going on, the place was pretty busy on a Saturday night, so normally I can imagine there being quite a wait. So my friend has been raving about these Kobe burgers for weeks. He normally orders his to go but we decided to sit there and allow me to try this coveted burger. It is in the basement of the building, not just a name.. so if you have issues with stairs this might not be for you. The very first and most glaring thing I noticed was my service. We came in right at 5pm. Seats at the bar were taken but the tables all pretty empty.. it took forever for us to get greeted by someone and get a menu. Even longer to get someone to take an order. The food arrived timely but no one refilled a drink or checked in. Bill was brought and we were then asked if we needed anything else.. really?? I notice one waiter, whose area we were not sitting in was killing the service. So clearly we had either a new server, an inattentive server, or maybe she just didn't like us ‍ I was sooo put off by the service that I would never eat in this restaurant again. On to the food. The Kobe burger was everything it was hyped up to be. Flavorful, juicy.. perfect temp. The tator tots were a nice addition cooked with a nice crunch. I was quite pleased with my food, the optional add ons and the price of said food. Maybe we will fair better at a different location. I really like this burger bar, it is a great addition to the downtown Farmington food scene. I came here recently with a group of 5 on a busy Friday night and was happy that our wait was not tooo long (maybe 20 minutes). It also is a convenient location to visit with friends or even a date as there is an arcade upstairs, plus Browndog next door for dessert and drinks. Everything our party got was tasty and I really like being able to create my own burger. The prices are fair and it's a great atmosphere to come here and quite lively. Thought this was a cool little place. Bartender was very friendly. I went one night when they had trivia so that was entertaining. I ordered a sampler where I picked mozzarella sticks, chicken fingers and Mac and cheese bites. We ate outside on one of their three patio tables right in the heart of Downtown Farmington. Our toddler daughter had a great menu to pick from, and she enjoyed the crayons and paper they brought her as well. Milk is offered for the kids, along with a lot of other choices. My husband and I built our own burgers and got a full order of sweet potato fries with a cinnamon butter sauce to share, and I got a side salad as well. He got a beer, and I got a pop. When it's good it's good, when it's not, it's abysmal. Food is great. Drinks are ok. Getting a table is a crapshoot every single time. Sometimes you get seated after a reasonable wait and service is fine; next time you get seated immediately and leave after 20 minutes with not a server in sight; or you get a wait time that's nowhere near the actual time you were quoted, and you leave anyway because you're not confident you'll ever get seated.
