If the grate were longer or there was a trench created to make the water go into the grate this wouldn't be an issue
    Katie F.

I hired Basements Love Us to waterproof our basement. The estimator was nice and gave us a great deal if we signed with him on the day of the estimate. I was told it would be waterproofed, but under the stairs they were going to install a grate to catch the water and stop it from going into the area of the basement which would be finished. The job was done on a Friday. I signed what I thought was a receipt when the job was finished. I went down the basement on the following Monday and I had water coming in one corner and still under the stairs but it was going into the grate. I contacted Shannon and was told that I signed off on the job(even if that were the case, I signed assuming the basement was waterproofed which it was not) Shannon asked me to send her pictures and after going back and forth she said she would send someone out "as a courtesy" I was immediately thrown off by the use of that word, as I feel it was not a favor to me, it was to complete the service which was not done properly in the first place. 3 corners were waterproofed one way and the 4th corner was not finished as shown in the pictures below. They came out and finished the corner that was not finished during the initial install. The installer told me that I was right and it should have been completed that way originally. A couple weeks later I went downstairs with the contractor to talk about finishing the basement and noticed that the water is going past the grate, which we were told would not happen. The estimator said that we could put a door in front of the grate and we wouldn't see the grate or the water that was going into the grate. I just contacted Shannon again and was told that the stairs leading to the Bilco doors need to be replaced and to let her know if we would like a price for that. We were misled by the company. Had I known the basement would still be getting wet beyond the grate I would have used the money to do something else to my home since I am not able to finish the basement with what basements love us has done. I told Shannon I would be writing a review and she said it was defamation of character and they will contact their lawyer if need be. I am simply stating facts about the services I have received, so that no one else has to deal with what we are.

This company is a complete hoax. I was selling my house and during the inspection an "organic…read moregrowth" was described on one of the pieces of wood in my crawl space. I called "basements love us" and they insisted on an air test for $350 I went ahead with the air test with a specialist of theirs named Tom. He came out seemed very nice and took the "air test". 2 days later when the "results" came back I called him for him to help me understand the "Air test". It was a Friday at 5 and he was clearly in a TD bank drive thru and he said he thought through seeing the report I had $7500 dollars worth of mold in my basement that would need to be completely remediated but we could talk specific numbers when he wasn't driving. I was sick, how could I have that much mold. He said he could come back on Saturday to sign me up for the program. I spent the night up praying it was just a mistake. It was a few specs of mold on one beam downstairs. Saturday morning before Tom arrived I had another company give me a quote. They went down in the crawl space and couldn't believe how clean and dry it was. Although they did see a "spot" they said that on a scale of 1-10 this was a .5 and it would be about $600 to clean. No air test required. Tom then arrived from Basements Love Us and I asked him again how much it would cost, after all he just threw the number out in a bank drive thru. I thought he'd have more of specific break down. He said $7500 even and asked me to pay on the spot. Something just wasn't right. I told him I didn't have that money and he asked me how much money I had in my account. Like what?!?!?! He then proceeded to give me a 20 minute lecture on how my realtors are taking my money and how I could do financing with them weeks before I was buying another house. Then when I continued to decline, they called me FOR WEEKS harassing me. I had mold, but absolutely nothing near $7500. I am so glad I didn't pay it but I hope this is warning to other people to not go with this company. The specialists are just sales people, the air test is fake and the quote they give you they just pull out of thin air. And in these other reviews it looks like half the time they don't even do the job. Stay away!

The project was originally supposed to be completed on 12/19/24 as communicated by the Dr. Fix-It team but the timeframe kept getting pushed back due to miscellaneous issues including but not limited to, scheduling, broken parts, wrong parts being ordered, work just generally taking longer than anticipated. The contractors consistently put in about 6 hours days (arrived around 9am and would leave by 4pm and take a lunch at 12pm). We went with Dr. Fix-It because of their positive reviews and they were responsive to our initial call. Unfortunately, with our home project, we had quite a few unexpected issues arise. One frustration I had with this team was their inability to set expectations properly. It was evident the project would not be completed by 12/19 but we had to call daily for updates where they would continue to tell us it would be finished by xx day and when xx day arrived, they'd say they need another xx hours to complete the job for xx reason. This was the cycle and it was frustrating. We worked with quite a few contractors for this project - Kevin did the mold removal and he was 10/10 great. He was professional, communicative, and kind. He also helped quite a bit when it came to working with the adjuster. It was a stressful time for us as this issue occurred spontaneously but Kevin really made us feel like he would take care of us, and he did. We did not really work well with Keith and his style of communicating. He is pretty reactive and gets frustrated easily. He does a lot of the behind the scenes work, so luckily you wouldn't have to communicate with him regularly. There was one instance where he was yelling over the phone when prompted for an updated timeframe. The contractors who did the rebuild of our bathroom did good work but they need a lot of direction and made mistakes they had to fix along the way. We felt that Keith should have allocated more resources to our project at times especially because we were weeks off target. For such a large project, and having one contractor on-site for ~6 hours a day, the progress was often disappointing. They gave us two contractors a day once the project was already severely over-due. Due to project delays, they had to lay the new carpet prior to finishing the rebuild of the bathroom. About halfway through, our project was assigned a Project Manager, Kim. No complaints about her, she did her job well and we were happy to be communicating with her over Keith. The project was taking so long that I touched up their paint job in the master, and painted most of the bathroom myself. We also had to do all of the cleaning. For example, they were cutting tile etc in the master bedroom and we cleaned every inch of that room ourselves. They ordered the wrong size shower doors twice and finally got it on their third try (and then ultimately put them on wrong). The shower door issue alone pushed out the project over a week. Overall, their attention to detail, cleanliness, communication and respect could be improved on. They left us with the following issues after we had (unfortunately) already signed and paid them in full on the last day - We have no hot water in our shower (the temperature control shower handle is only able to reach cold), the shower isn't sealed properly and water leaks outside of the shower, all of the shower doors need to be flipped 180 degrees (door handle is on right hand side vs left and it's difficult to get out of the shower +extremely impractical), they swapped hot and cold water supply on one of our faucets + water leaks inside the vanity, they dinged pretty much every surface in existence inside our house and in the newly renovated bathroom. Do not sign that the project is complete until you have tested everything. They will offer to fix their mistakes for a cost if you've already signed. We are hiring different contractors to fix Dr. Fix-Its mistakes.

can't say enough good things about my experience with JustDryBasement. From the very first phone…read morecall, everything was top-notch. I had contacted several companies before, and honestly, most made me feel like I was bothering them. But when I called JustDryBasement, Susan answered--and she was incredibly professional, kind, and helpful. That first impression already set them apart. She connected me with the owner, Elliot, who has been amazing from start to finish. We worked together on three separate projects, and in every one, his quality of work and professionalism truly stood out. First project: Elliot installed a French drain in my basement and noticed damage to the walls, so he recommended and installed a special polyester wall barrier. He walked me through the entire process with patience and clarity. I waited a full year before writing this review, just to make sure everything held up--and I can confidently say, even through heavy rains here in Medford, NJ, my basement has remained dry. His work speaks for itself: solid, clean, and reliable. Second project: I still had high humidity in the basement, so Elliot suggested and installed a whole-house dehumidifier (AprilAire E100). He connected it directly to the French drain system, so I no longer have to worry about emptying water or dealing with moisture. It runs efficiently and quietly--even when I'm traveling, I have peace of mind. Third issue: Recently, I had water flooding in the finished part of my basement. I thought it was the water heater, but Elliot offered to stop by just to help figure it out. And he did--within two days, exactly as he promised. He quickly diagnosed the issue: it was actually the AC pump, not the water heater. Thanks to his advice, I was able to get the original installer (under warranty) to fix the problem. Elliot didn't have to help with that, but he did anyway--because that's the kind of person he is. Beyond his technical skills, Elliot is honest, communicative, punctual, and just a genuinely good person. He always followed through on his word, showed up on time, and took the time to explain everything clearly. Even when I had concerns, he didn't brush them off--instead of just talking over the phone, he came in person to give me peace of mind. I also want to give a shoutout to his partner Phillip, who was also fantastic to work with, and again, to Susan, for being so welcoming and helpful from the start. After working with this company three times, I can honestly say: I highly recommend JustDryBasement to anyone looking for quality, professionalism, and peace of mind. Their prices are more than fair for the level of service they deliver. It's rare to find people in this field who truly care--and I'm so glad I found them. Thank you, Elliot and team!

Elliott the owner came within a few days of me calling and gave an estimate to repair a floor joist that was severely damaged by a plumber.
