Yes, I'm reviewing Basha's but hey, I have something useful to offer, so settle down. The Basha's deli is the shiz....yes, the shizzy 4 hizzy baby. Why, you ask? Well, let me tell you. First off, they make all of their salads on premises. I like that, I like my chicken salad, yes all white meat, thanks for asking to be fresh with cilantro and onion and made right there in the wee hours before I get my shopping done. Same with the egg salad and all the other tasty items. My peeps at the register say the 411 is that the deli recipes are the same recipes as the ones used at ...wait for it.... AJ's, yea girl that;s what I'm talkin' about, I'm buyin' my AJ tastin' salad at Basha's -SNAP! Just so you know, girlfriend, most of your grocery delis are reaching into some big ol' commercial sized tub of Reese's whatever, shipped from who knows where and putting it out at the deli counter. That is NOT happin' at my Basha's! The meats and cheeses are Boar's Head which is a fine brand but what I really like is they don't slice it until you order it so my half pound of ham is fresh...yes,freshy freshy! Same with the cheeses, no slicing till I order it...Basha's deli treats a girl right. Me likey! read more

Very nice remodel. My work suite is right around the corner. It' s convenient for me to get some of my supplies here. I honestly don' t know why they' re still open, coz I barely see any one with a full cart of groceries when I come in here. Good for me when I can go in and out in a jiffy. Anyhoo, the cafe area is a great improvement from the old one tucked away on the end of the deli section. Oh, and covered parking is pretty cool! read more

It was my grandsons birthday party need a cake . I ordered a 1/4 sheet chocolate cake with whipped cream icing for him. Lady did a great job decorating the cake. Bashas used to have such good cakes. It was very dry . Don't think I'd go back. No fault of bakery shop, just bashas choice to bring in pre baked cakes. All the grocery stores do that now I guess. read more

I L.O.V.E going grocery shopping and I love going to different stores because you can always find something different. Bashas is pretty awesome. Nice selection in both the bakery and meat departments. The babes got some really pretty slabs of prime rib and i walked away with some new cheeses and good produce. I'm somewhat of a produce snob but the selection is overall good at this location. I've been going to this store for sale items for several years since they closed the store on Kyrene and Chandler Blvd. They do not have near the selection the old store had, and frequently they do not have the items they put in the ads. In 3 of the last 4 visits to this store the primary item I wanted was not available. I have complained to the store directly several time, and all they do is blow smoke at me. They pretend to be concerned, but do nothing about the problem. read more

I shop here a lot, and I love it. I have worked next door for a few years and have seen employees come and go but the staff that is currently there now is the best. They are super friendly and down to earth, I always feel welcome. And the managers Robert and Anthonty are super helpful and nice! read more

Good beer selection. Awesome baked goods! These are the only two items I buy here and an emergency item here and there because it is the closest to my house. Fresh baked bread and donuts are especially delicious and donuts are buy 12/get 6 free on Fridays! read more

The ladies at the deli looked physically mad & also very confused at the fact that I wanted them to make me two sandwiches. They repeated back to each other several times "she wants a sandwich......" It took about 25 minutes & 2 out of the 3 women to make me my sandwiches. The third lady basically threw her hands up & said something about lunch break. The sign sitting on the counter said $5.00 for a boars head sandwich, I asked for that. The lady that was on her way to lunch scolded me & told me that it's not a $5.00 sandwich. It's $5.00 for generic brand. & said something like "boars head costs $5.00 alone, why would you get a $5.00 sandwich?" I didn't even bother saying "why would you put a sign out?" But really, why would you put the sign out? read more

It is the cleanest grocery store in my area, the employees are friendly and helpful, the sale prices are great, the quality of the meat department, produce and bakery are fantastic. I wouldn't go back. My interaction with the bakery department on two separate days was awful they don't know how to communicate with people, I was given bad advice when ordering my cake I told them for approximately 12 kids would be eating the cake and a few days later I picked up the cake with a girl who was even worse at communicating and asked "is no one coming to your birthday party?" Because the cake was so small I measured when I got home, 9" x 5". The girl who asked the silly question to my daughter then advised to just serve really small pieces. There is no training at all they don't know how to problem solve or even communicate with the public. I emailed a complaint to Bashas but I have not heard back, it's been over a week. Just avoid the bakery all together. read more

I shop, study, and dine at the redesigned Bashas'. It's great using the wi-fi in a booth or at the counter in the deli area because they have Peet's coffee, hot pizza, fresh salads, and market fresh sandwiches that are made to order. I don't know why someone would study at Starbucks when Bashas' has everything and more for less. Plus, it feels good to support a local, family-owned business that does so much for our Arizona communities. read more

I miss my old Basha. Shopping on a Monday after work. They are out of quite a few things. Let's see, no sweet Italian sausage, no baby spinach. The onions and garlic are pitiful to look at. Swanson's chicken broth, needed 3 quarts. They only had two. I did ok on the canned tomatoes, cannellini beans, pasta shells. The grated parmesan cheese was either Friggo or Food City, I was hoping for the better brand in the deli isle. They have Asiago and Romano. Not the parmesan. The manager had no clue. Crystal Water in a gallon jug. Nope. Bar soap. Nope. The kicker at checkout. It took 15 minutes, only 1 cashier. An older gentleman did not have the funds to cover his groceries. The manager, instead of moving him aside to assist, he opens another cash register. With my groceries we're already on the carousel, I spent fifteen minutes waiting while they sorted him out. Bashas, you need to have a plan for this type of occurrence. Move him aside, keep the cashier checking out. It was terribly sad. Instead of sorting it out in private they had everyone in line watch. Hire more workers to stock inventory, hire more cashiers, train the manager on how to keep the line moving. One star for this review. read more

This is the worst store I have ever been to. The manager was extremely rude and talked down to me. This is the second remodel they've had to try and make it look like the store is nice and upscale but really, they are closing other stores and putting everything in this one, with rude employees and I can't ever find what I'm looking for. I had been a customer for over 10 years but today I was treated with such disrespect with this new staff after this second remodel I will never return. I will also never return to the pharmacy because since taking over another stores medications and patients, the techs and pharmacists have become rude to their existing customers. Overall, I hope they enjoy losing their customers they had, unless instead of upgrading their store, they upgrade their staff, no one is going to want to go there anymore. read more

I feel bad only giving one star since the staff are really nice, but im really sick of buying things from here, to find out they expire the next day. I know its my job to pull from the back row, but I swear alot of the items in the back are already at the end of the time frame too. If you just need a few items then sure, but I would avoid doing all your shopping here, as it wont last a week. Especially stay away from the fruit and bread. In some very rare cases I've even seen already expired items on the shelf. read more

I have gone 4 times now and 3 out of 4 times I have ordered from the deli sandwich area and the people there have been absolutely rude. Carmen, the manager, today was beyond rude and eye rolled me three times. I wish other stores had the pesto veggie cause I would so much rather go somewhere with a little bit of manners. I completely understand everyone can't have a good day but everyone that I work with who goes there says the same about the people there. Sadly, its just the sandwich area because I've dealt with some of the cashiers and they have been so friendly. read more

I would love to review this store positively, but they simply continue to fail their customers. I waited 15 minutes...I was the only person waiting....in the meat department. Both of the gentlemen behind the glass made eye contact and continued what they were doing...ignoring their customer. When one of them finally came forward, the seafood I had come into the store for was gone...said they would have more tomorrow. I had intended to spend around $80, but put all my groceries back and walked out of the store. I used to be a regular Bashas shopper...but this is not my first instance of terrible customer service. I'm done. I emailed the "corporate" entity, and received no response. Too bad, I believe in doing business locally...but not at the expense of treating customers well. I picked up a beautifully decorated chocolate cake from the Tempe Bashas bakery for our April birthday celebration at work. The Bashas manager was awesome and boxed up the cake, since it was after regular bakery hours. The cake was not only beautiful but delicious as well! I'm not supposed to eat cake/gluten but I couldn't resist. It was calling to me...I answered the call and was thrilled I had. The chocolate cake was moist and the filling and decorations were light and perfect balance of chocolate cake and chocolate mousse with shavings of chocolate on top. It was a hit at work and I will definitely go back for our monthly bday cakes! read more

The neighborhoods around the Warner/McClintock Basha's waited, that's WAITED patiently as we were anticipating the reopening of the new and improved (although I never heard ONE PERSON complain about the dated) Bashas. My husband and I attended the grand opening free breakfast and loved the ambience of the PEOPLE who staff 'our' local store. I cannot explain the disappointment easily. Although I understand that the store is basically the same size, it feels sterile and average. The ceilings are warehouse-y and vibrate the overhead speakers; the floor is made up of large gray tiles that suck the energy out of the spaces; the walls are painted with two different GREENS and neither is decorated...seems bare and underwhelming; the 'cafe' is lovely!!; it feels like you have to walk more to find what you want. The produce dept always needed a little improvement and we were told there is a new buyer...THANK YOU! Overall, I'm glad they are open, maybe I'll get used to it...it feels sad and stark, not warm and welcoming...surfaces are squarish and hard. I don't know who convinced the Basha's family to go with this design, but try to get your money back. Always loyal, but not always satisfied! read more

This Bashas has the best daily food in the deli area; soups, sandwiches, pizza and different entrees daily. Great inexpensive prices, $2-7 and no tipping! Very friendly people and not too busy to get quick food in 20-30 minutes be done! I am here almost everyday checking out whats on the menu!! And they even clean the tables unlike Frys :) read more

This is a GREAT Basha's! Its clean & set up like a markeplace. They even have a salad bar with fresh made to order salads. There are booths & tables where you can eat too. Staff is friendly & store is clean. read more

store is beautiful, but bakery employee Flor deff has an attitude, she kinda rolled her eyes at me and had an attitude in her voice. also I went at about 10am on Friday and there was only one tray of donuts left, and they case looked like a mess!..sorry on donut Fridays you should be able to keep up with your case. also their hand decorated cut out cookies were very thin and decorations looked horrible. overall very disappointed. read more
