BashBall has been an amazing experience!! It keeps the baseball skills up during the fall while keeping it very fun for kids. sometimes in sports, the fun goes missing but not in bashball. the excitement in the coaches and the engagement with the kids is on a new level. My son asks everyday when his next bashball game is. The other aspect is the production. The production of this league is superior. Flags for each team and tents for each team. fun if blasting as the kids play. Its truly a fun experience for kids and parents!

Are you young, new to the city, and like meeting new people?…read more Then WAKA Kickball is for you! I've been playing for 5 years now. There are several days you can play, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday. Each Day of the week has a different vibe and level of competition. I mainly play on Sundays which is a little less competitive than other days. And it gives me enough time to recover. After the games we head to our sponsor bar to hang out, drink, and play flip cup. There are usually 2-3 parties that happen every season as well. I've made some of my best friends playing kickball. You should too!

Really fun and really great way to meet new people in a new city (or when you want to make new…read morefriends in the city you've lived in for awhile). Every league is different, so it's worth trying a few if you don't like the first one you are in. The kickball is fun but it works really well when paired with the drinking games after. The most important thing is to find a league where the post-game bar is on a night where you can afford to drink and is easy to get home from (i.e. no driving necessary). A good post-game means it doesn't matter whether you are on a team that loses every game. There is a mix of players and some have played for a few years and understand the strategies and have experience, while others are just starting out. Signing up as a free agent is pretty random, so you can get placed on a completely new team or as filling out an established squad. Most people are generally friendly and welcoming (beer does that to you).

They took the time to be sure that newcommers met everyone there so they would be comfortable. They encourage cohesiveness both in the players and the families, and are focused on developing strong players in the right way, with good sportsmanship and integrity, unlike some clubs we've had experiences with. Coach Joe made an immediate impression on our crazy girl. He has trained and developed her love for the sport. He makes a connection with his players, and knows how to connect with each of their different styles and personalities. I have NEVER experienced ANY of Pac Rim's coaches yelling at an athlete. Some of these old ratings are just rediclous! Come join our Pac Rim Ohana!

My niece played for this same club 2 yrs ago after I warned my brother & seems things have not changed. I myself have coached & reffed, so I understand the concept of competitiveness & wanting to win. BUT, not at the cost of kids at young ages learning a sport & constantly being yelled, screamed at & belittled - I've seen this being done to 11, 12 yr olds. Some kids do not ever get in rotation to even play an entire game, after traveling hours to a tournament. Roger or the coach will give you some BS excuse, I've seen it first hand. But when I witnessed a coach tell a player you cannot play today because I saw you eat "4 fries" last night, that is a different type of mental abuse to a 14 yr old girl who was NOT even on our team! That was a small example of what consistently went on. Please do not put your child through this and find another club that not only gives them the format & training, but the confidence, guidance, & teamwork building that should be taught at this age.

Review for Adult Male Basketball Only -…read more Pleasant Hill rec sports is a good place to work out your aggression and competitive fire on the bball court. There are generally three levels of competition with 10 games each season, and playoffs for the top 4 to 6 teams. The games are fun and most of the teams/players are friendly. Keep in mind, individual player stats are not recorded, so this league is strictly for those who want to come and play to win, not for individuals who want to boast their egos. The fees are reasonable, about $80 per person if you have a 8 to 10 person squad, and it's pretty well organized. The only issues i have: *The refs are rather inconsistent, which can be very frustrating at times * The scorekeeping is also inconsistent, so it requires your teammates on the bench to make sure points are given to the right team * Scores are not updated weekly on the website, but rather sporadically. However, a paper copy is available every week in the gym to see team standings I'd recommend anyone who wants to play organized bball to give it a try here. Keep in mind the stuff about the refs and the scoring, but overall it's pretty fun. My overall score would be 3.5 stars

At our first game of the summer, the grass was thigh high (I'm only 5'1", so you can only imagine!) and the fires were still going on all over Cali. Maybe it was the smokey air, or the thigh-high grass... but I had the worst experience trying to play soccer!! I've been playing for over 10 years, and I couldn't believe how much I felt like a novice stepping onto that field. Thankfully, the parks dept cut the grass by the next game, but it was still high on my ankle!! What is with this crap? I can't believe I'm paying $12 more on top of the regular fee because I don't even live in Pleasant Hill. Parks and Rec need to get their crap together.
