I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan, but it's a good healthy alternative to something similar to Chiptole/ZTeca. As someone who doesn't like spicy, I wasn't a big fan of their sauces. There was non spicy options like peanut, but I'm just not a fan of peanut. There's 4 sauces flavour and it just didn't fit my personal likings. Their iced tea was also too sweet for my liking. However I do want to compliment their baked sweet potato- it was good. Decor wise and service wise, it was amazing !!

    yummy !

for anyone who hasn't tried Basil Box, it is a MUST. as one of the only healthy places on campus, it not only makes you feel amazing after you eat it, but it's actually absolutely delicious. it works as a build your own box, you can choose your base (salad, rice noodle, rice etc), choose your veggies, meat, and sauce. there's LOTS of vegan options, in fact, everything is vegan (except the meat!) for veggies there are sweet potatoes (this is absolutely delicious), corn, peas, and edamame. for the vegan options, there's coconut curry tofu which was flavored just right! The sauces weren't all very attractive, but as someone who can't tolerate spice I went with the tangy sauce and it was actually pretty good! on top of this, the customer service of this place has got to be one of the best! the workers there are super inviting and always make sure you're enjoying the place. i love the culture and vibe of this place, definitely will be one of my new go-to's on campus!

I give it to restaurants that go over and above. In this case, it is a specialty restaurant that caters to people who live with and without celiac disease or wheat/gluten issues. Today, I started with the pork spring rolls. They were quite large. They were served piping hot and were delicious. The texture reminded me a lot of South American corn and tapioca style breads and breading. A large focus on tapioca starch which works very well in the spring rolls. I also ordered the back pepper beef, and the garlic black beans. I had no idea of the abundance and freshness of the food. Also served piping hot. I barely got through either of the dishes. At this point, I realized that one dish would likely be enough and I likely had enough food for a small family. Excellent value. I'm leaving with enough food for dinner as well. The place is clean, the staff is very knowledgeable, and everyone is very friendly. So, value, excellence of food and taste, ingenuity in creating foods that aren't usually available, while maintaining a close relationship to the original. Well done. Five stars. Bringing home frozen food as well for my wife and some.

The worst part of my experience was ordering. I wanted a set menu item, but I wanted to change my base from rice to noodles. Upon request, the worker responded with "we don't really do that here..." and trailed off. If they told me I had to pay a substition fee, I would have gladly done so. If they told me that was not allowed, I would have been confused, but I would understand. Instead I was left feeling like it was weird for me even to ask and I felt awkward. The food was ok. They gave a good amount of meatballs which I was happy with. The basil chicken flavor was decent. But the satisfaction I got compared to what I paid left my wanting more. The food also took 20 minutes to be prepared which seemed like a bit too long. Overall, maybe if I wanted something to take out and eat at the park across the street, I would consider coming here. But there are too many better options nearby for me to return to sit down and eat.

Tips: - This place takes debit and cash only…read more - The hot tea is scorching hot. A couple of Wednesdays ago, after work, I had an early dinner at this Pho Anh Vu on Highway 7 in Vaughan, between Keele and Jane streets. I have passed by this eatery a number of times since it opened. It was time to check it out. This location used to be Veg Italiano. There used to be a pho place a few doors down. It is now a Turkish eatery. This small plaza does have some turnover. However, the Turkish place and this eatery have been here for at least a couple of years. I hope they remain. I got here at around 3:30 pm. I had no problem finding a parking spot. I backed into a vacant one and walked in. I was immediately greeted by a male staffer. I got to sit wherever I wanted. I chose a booth by the window. I got menus to peruse. There were two other tables with customers. It was nice. Hot tea came to me with two cups. The hot tea was exceptionally piping hot. I used both cups to pour tea into them and let them cool. I was ready to order. It took a long time to get a server to come over. The woman at the counter noticed that I was ready and flagged the male server to take my order. I got these items: - Soda lemonade - Grilled chicken on vermicelli with spring rolls My soda lemonade came first. It was fizzy, cold, and refreshing. I loved it so much. I would get it again in a heartbeat. It also helped me down my food as I waited for my hot tea to cool down. When my tea was finally at a temperature that wouldn't scorch my tongue, it was fragrant and yummy. I loved the grilled chicken. It was flavourful and grilled to perfection. The vermicelli was generous and yummy. The spring rolls were stuffed and crispy. This dish came with dipping sauce that I ended up pouring on everything. I feel that I needed more of it. I paid at the counter with a debit card. I tapped and was good. This eatery got busy after 4 pm. My guess is that everyone came to watch the Canada-Switzerland FIFA game. It got tense in the place. Eventually, Canada lost this game. I used the washroom before I left. It was beautiful and clean. It's a decent location that serves good food. The tea was too hot. Service started off slow, but was a lot better once my order was place. I'd love to return to try more items off the menu. (280)
