Went here finally after seeing this place through the window at the library, for months! Friendly service. I asked if the person had tried all the sandwiches and which one they liked best... I eat chicken and not pork or beef, so I decided on the lemongrass chicken. It instantly appealed. I mean, with lemongrass in the title how can it not? I got their combo deal, so I bought a bubble tea too. I ordered the peach green tea with boba, requested it be less sweet and less ice, although the sugar level was fairly sweet for my taste. Perhaps because the ice level was also low. It was a regular size for $4.45, not bad... I mean, its no Kung Fu Tea and I wouldn't buy it again. Yet, I wouldn't know that without having tried it in the first place. The sandwich was satisfying in that I felt full afterward. I guess its good when you chomp down on a couple peices of cartiledge or tough meat, at least you know than that it is in fact meat and not synthetic garbage that some food places often substitute. I felt the sandwich was kinda on the flat side... maybe it was because there was zero spice, when I had asked the hot sauce be put on the side. The lemongrass flavour was enjoyable. I was personally perplexed as to the mayo in the sandwich... it tasted like a garlic aoili style, except milder. Generally garlic aoili tends to be on the fatty side, this did not taste so fatty, yet was weird to me, to have that in the bahn mi. The combo came to just under $18 and I decided to tip because I totally know what its like in the service industry. My meal costed me $20. And that was rather pricey, in my eyes. Yet, if I were to have bought the bahn mi ($10.35) and gone elsewhere to pay possibly, $7+ for a bubbletea, the amount would have likely been a little higher. All in all the combo served in saving at least a couple bucks (which went toward the tip anyway) The next time I will try their tofu and not get a bubble tea. Oh yeah, their seating ... well there certainly is hardly anything at all. I went there hoping to take a seat and have a conversation, yet was unpleasently surprised to walk in only to see a bar table by the window, taken up by a couple people already. Making the space inconducive to a phone chat. Perhaps it is designed that way to quickly eat tour sandwich and then leave. And not linger...i would love for them to have more seats.

THE BASICS There is no shortage of shops in Toronto serving up Banh Mi sandwiches these days. Komi Banh Mi Bar is one of these new shops, but in our opinion they are one of the best entrants onto the scene. Komi's bright, clean shop is well situated in Bloorcourt Village and offers a range of excellent sandwich and rice platter options at a very reasonable price. THE SERVICE These are very friendly folks who take special care to ensure that their made-to-order Banh Mi will keep you coming back for more. While meats are marinated in advance, they are not grilled until an order is placed, so there are no shortcuts. But the quality of the sandwiches make the wait well worth your time. THE FOOD We've only tried their Banh Mi, an appetizer (their scumptious and very fresh grilled pork sausage roll with peanut sauce for $5.49) and some of their fruit teas. We will be ordering a couple of rice platters the next time we visit. One of the things that sets Komi apart from the competition is that their baguettes are baked fresh in-house; and the baguettes are perfect and delicious. Komi also offers up very generous servings of meat; these Banh Mi are a full meal for all but the biggest appetites. While all the Banh Mi are delicious, here are our two favourites: Calvin's Style Beef is Asian BBQ-style Grade 'A' beef with kimchi. The beef is melt-in-your-mouth tender and suffused with delicious BBQ flavour. It's the most "expensive" item on the menu at $11.49 - worthy every penny! The Golden Pork Banh Mi is stuffed to overflowing with honey soy grilled pork for a ridiculously low price of only $8.85 DRINKS Komi has a selection of fruit teas, with the option to add tapioca "bubbles". We had a mango tea on our last visit and it was delicious! You can adjust the amount of ice and sugar in each tea when you place your order. THE PRICE Komi's prices are very reasonable, particularly in light of the high quality, fresh and delicious Banh Mi's that they regularly serve up. These folks deserve to have a line up outside their door; hopefully more people discover them so that they can thrive.

Good banh mi, small space. The sandwiches taste fresh but there isn't much seating so take your food to go.

Just under a year since opening and they're still incredibly busy--which honestly says a lot. I'd…read moredefinitely recommend ordering ahead on their website since there's no indoor seating to wait, but it makes the whole experience much smoother. There are benches outside and counters where you can stand and eat, giving it a casual, quick-stop kind of vibe. It's also part market, so you can browse a selection of goodies while you're there. I tried the Antico Parma sandwich and it was delicious--definitely a spot I'd go out of my way for again. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

I only stepped into the…read morerestaurant to glance over the menu and within seconds I was making a purchase because the old happy man was too chummy to refuse. And it pains me to write this review about the bad quality of their entrees. I've been to Naomi twice. The first time I bought the Salmon bibimbap and the second time I bought the Chicken teriyaki. The pictures looked really really good so I opted for them, but both dishes were disgusting. I was really thrown off by how quickly they were able to prepare both dishes. Under 5 minutes?!?! It seemed almost too good to be true. When I opened the container and took the first bite of the meat, I fully understood why. Naomi uses canned meats. For some people, this is okay, but I really could not stand how "plastic" the chicken felt. The meats weren't even seasoned, rather covered in mediocre sauces. The teriyaki sauce wasn't even teriyaki sauce... it was a transluscent orange with a syrupy consistency. The bibimbap was also poorly done. There was no sunny side up egg, and the only veggies consisted of bland bean sprouts, overcooked carrots, and boiled spinach. Although, the "gochujang" sauce was not bad. However, my friends have all claimed that Naomi's sandwiches are extremely tasty, but after my two bad experiences, I'm probably not going to come back. TLDR: don't get any entrees. Stick with the cafe classics.
