We hadn't been to Basilic in a long while, probably 5 years or so and made a decision to go back because it was a thunderstorm day in Miami and Pho sounded so comforting. The place basically looks the same with just a few updates. But it's peaceful, quiet and pleasant. We decided to have our favorite dish, Beef Pho, and ordered that. Our server was Francisco, who was friendly and helpful. It didn't take long for our soup to arrive. I guess 5 years can make a difference in how pho is made or maybe there is a different chef. The pho now is not cooked the same as back then and didn't taste as good, to our surprise and disappointment. The brisket was not very tender but was tough and hard to chew. The steak slices were cut so thin as to not have much flavor or substance. The amount of meat was a little less and there were way more noodles than before. Something was missing but I can't remember what it was...a green vegetable, I think. Overall, it was ok but not excellent like before. We have had beef pho on the west coast many times and it was always perfect. It could've been just that day that it was off. Maybe it was something else like the economy because the place was empty at 6:30 pm when we arrived for dinner. There was one couple sitting in a booth and only a few trickled in afterwards, unlike in the past when it was packed. I came here through a Groupon deal, so it was basically a free experience which made it easy to give it a try. Overall, it was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. The experience was decent for the price, and I'm glad I checked it out. I came here because it was cold outside and I was really craving a good bowl of pho. I ordered the oxtail pho, and honestly...I was disappointed. The place was cute and the service was decent. For the price (which I can't remember exactly), it just wasn't worth it. They give you one big piece of oxtail and a few small cut-up pieces, which didn't feel like enough. The broth was also pretty plain, so I found myself trying to build up the flavor instead of enjoying it as is. We also ordered calamari and spring rolls, and both were very bland. The only thing that really gave them any taste was the dipping sauce. The only thing I truly enjoyed was the peach wine it was really good and probably the highlight of the experience. My feelings are hurt... if you see my review Jun 2, 2025, I gave this spot 4 stars. Today, I am barely hovering a tad above 2.8 (didn't know how to reflect that) ... Why? They changed the recipe for their special Curry Soup. I get this soup with vegetables. This is my second time having the soup since they had this brilliant idea and now, I am sad to say, more than likely my last. It has lost it's pungent curry flavor - the color is now red and I am simply just not feelin' it. I failed to call them back and let them know because I brought the soup home; the more I ate, the more I did not enjoy. I will go back to the Thai Chicken Salad; let's hope that remains the same and I am going to have to find something else to replace my Curry Veggie or Duck soup... read more

I ordered my food to-go so I didn't take any pictures of the food once I got home, however, the food was amazing and I would definitely go back. Food & Drinks: 9/10 I had the beef pho and the shrimp spring rolls. The beef broth is so tasty and flavorful. This was my first time trying spring rolls and they did not disappoint. I got the spring rolls with the Vietnamese sauce and it was amazing. I also tried one of their bubble/boba teas and that was also tasty. The pearls at the bottom of the bubble tea were great. Service: 10/10 The server who took my order was very sweet and patient. She ensured my order was correct and added extra veggies and sauces for my pho. Their customer service is genuine and the other servers were also attentive and helpful while I waited for my food. Ambiance: 8/10 It's a chill and comfy restaurant. A spot that serves up vino right to the cusp of last call is A-Ok by me! I met up with my friend Cecilia for dinner here before her flight since it's close to work. Since it was a weekday, they closed at 9, and here I was working until just past 7. Located in a strip mall on Biscayne next to another favorite restaurant, there's a generous amount of parking. Besides, the extra on the wine our waiter was helpful in recommending dishes and being attentive to food allergies. Oh, and yes my glass was a moscato. I do want to check out some of their sakes sometime! I enjoyed their chicken curry. A creamy stew with a generous helping of chicken breast pieces, the sweet potatoes & coconut sauce mixed in with the heat of the curry gave it a spicy balance that made my taste buds happy. We were very satisfied with our meal at Basilic. The iced Viet coffee is a staple if you haven't tried it; robust yet sweet. The crispy egg noodle had a delicious sauce soaking the mixed vegetables. The vermicelli combination bowl had flavorful pork, crispy eggroll, and cilantro on top of carrots, radishes, and bean sprouts. I'd say for the price I'd expect more of both the pork and eggrolls. Basilic is located in a shopping center near Total Wine with plenty of parking. The interior was very well decorated and had a fully stocked bar. My husband ordered a combination pho and added tripe and since they didn't have seafood pho, I ordered another seafood soup option on the menu. The serving size is very generous! I would say it is a medium size compared to the places I've been to that offer small, medium, large. My partner enjoyed his pho, although they forgot his tripe at first. He still enjoyed it. My soup was a little sweeter than I was used to but I really loved the wontons that were included in mine, so savory! We came to this place because a friend recommended it. As we entered, we were quickly greeted and were offered our choice of seats. We looked over the menu, and I was expressed with the selection. We ordered the spring rolls, she ordered the beef vermicelli, and I dered the beef noodle bowl. I was delighted with my selection. It was tasty and had plenty of everything I liked in my noodle bowl. I really like the veggies, cilantro, and basil that are served with the noodle bowl on the side. The broth was good and not overpowering. The service was great. We ordered some sodas, spring rolls, beef pho, and combination pho. The beef/shrimp spring rolls were delicious; they come with a tasty peanut sauce and bright pickled veggies. The pho broth is warm and spiced beautifully, probably the best I've had in a long time. It's a pretty large portion as well, with lots of meat. I had to take my pho leftovers to go! The service was also really welcoming from start to finish. Our server Debbie was friendly and so attentive. She made sure we had fresh sodas to go and topped off my pho leftovers with more fresh broth before we left. The rest of the team was also on top of it, making sure our table was cleared of empty plates and topping off our waters. I wouldn't consider ourselves regulars, but Debbie our waitress somehow always remembers our order - so I guess we are! This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the area near my home. I used to go there at least 2 or 3 times per month. Last week we went for lunch about 2:30 pm. There was only about 3 couples there. We came in and waited for a seat and were told to pick any table. We picked a booth. And waited..and waited.. and waited. No menu was ever brought, nor drink order. The employees were too busy gabbing among themselves. We finally got up and left, remarking to one of the servers that obviously they didn't want our business. Such a shame, because the restaurant used to have great servers and great food.
