The best and only one I have tried Sichuan restaurant in Miami. The chicken was extra crispy. Dan Dan noodles hit the spot. Egg Fried rice and string beans are a must. Fish chilli pot flavor is good, but not digging the head/fins and guts parts@of the fish. Service was friendly and fast. The place was a mix of a night club/pop mart/Chinese restaurant. Plenty of parking in the back even though the front looks small. read more

These are photos of two different trips to this restaurant where we ordered the same thing so let that speak for itself.... This place is a hidden gem in north Miami tucked away in a tiny strip mall on the side of the road. Service is quick and efficient and their sichuan dishes really stand out. A whole fish was able to serve around 5 people and the sides were all delicious. Anything on the menu will be a hit. For Miami, this is very close to authentic Chinese cooking you'll find elsewhere and if you're away from home and craving some real sichuan food this will definitely hit the spot! read more

We drive 30 minutes to eat here. I wish there were way more of this type of restaurant in Miami, but alas it is what it is. The old owners opened and closed when they felt like it, so hours were inconsistent. Look everything is pretty solid here - they are sichuan cuisine, so most things are spicy. I order in Chinese so the translations might be a bit strange. The water and chili cooked fish is a classic - the green one specifically. Dry pot here is very solid. The squid was very good as well. Took my parents here - these restaurants are everywhere in CA, but they are few and far between in Miami. This spot has become my go to for when I need something solid and reasonably priced! Feels close to home - everyone speaks Chinese here which is great. Some big tables so good for bigger groups. Everything is family style, so come with more people! read more

Will return for the food, which is 4, everything else is 3 or lower. A few black and white photos are interesting. The restaurant changed hand about a year ago. The neighborhood is dingy. Parking in rare too. The name is bit interesting: Sichuan is a landlocked province. It's a great choice in a damp day, especially after the Miami Open when there was a rain delay; then Pegula lost in straight sets. Food is authentic: - Beef with cilantro: wonderful - Tiger pepper: great but (too spice for me) - Spicy flavored boiled Fish: super The house pickled cabbage is good too. All are food is delicious. My lips are numb with medium hot selection. When we got there at 6:30, there's one table; when we left a little over an hour later, three more groups came. All are Chinese. Hong Kong pop songs plays in the background. When I called to reserve a table (thinking it's Saturday night...), the woman who answered has a strong accent. So I spoke to her in Mandarin. She insisted in English. Three servers are doing the minimum: never changed our plates - the boiled fish has a lots of discards. The fish is fresh but it isn't scaled clean - this is big with me. I was pretty OBSESSED when Sichuan opened since the previous owners left (CY Chinese). I was coming pretty often, almost once a week! The shrimp hot pot was my fav, along side the tasty cucumber salad. Food has been pretty consistent but the service lacks attention. You literally need to flag them down, and this happens every single time. It's a chill spot, no frills. Good tasting Chinese options and you definitely need to be open to trying new things on the menu , otherwise you'll get stuck always eating the same things. Plenty of parking - some in the front and back. read more

Had a great dinner here! The food was super flavorful and felt really authentic--no watered-down dishes. The spicy beef soup in the center was amazing: tender meat, rich broth, and the perfect level of heat. We also loved the crispy chicken, sautéed veggies, and that sweet-savory eggplant dish. Wow this place is incredable! I've been looking for good sichuan food in Miami and this is definitly the spot. The spicy boiled fish is a MUST get... the flavor is so authentic and numbing just how I like it. portions are huge too so bring your friends. We also tried the mapo tofu and it was delish. This is our go-to near Miami for authentic Chinese cuisine. Our favorites include the boiled pork dumplings, pork soup, cucumber salad, and sweet and sour fish! Yum! The staff do not speak English very well but we've learned to make it work. Decor is not fancy and if fine dining is your thing, this is not the place. However, for delicious authentic Chinese cuisine, this is our favorite. It can get busy so be prepared for longer waits for food and service during peak times. read more

Having moved to Miami from NYC we have been disappointed at the dearth of good Chinese restaurants here So when we visited for the 1st time for lunch this week we were pleasantly surprised that the food actually tasted like some of the better sichuan restaurants back home. Very good. A few negatives: The room was completely empty and service was still very slow and prices are high. However I would return again when I want Chinese as there are few better alternatives. As they are empty at lunch I would also suggest they offer a lunch menu with more reasonable prices. That will probably help their business. read more

Went in as a solo diner, I was brought a menu pretty quickly, but then nobody came back for 20 minutes to take my order. The restaurant was busy, but they had too few staff. Finally got my food 39 minutes after that. I was going to walk out at 40 so they just beat my cutoff time. The king pao was disappointing and greasy. The wait for the food is like 10-15 minutes give or take. There are a lot of vegetables and one of my dishes had the plant watercress in it. If you don't know what watercress it is typically an expensive healthy vegetable (or at least where I'm from). The person behind the recipe put some consideration into the ingredients to enhance the flavor. I dined in, the place is unsuitable for eating at since it mainly focuses on cooking food for togo orders- regardless the service here was okay. Two servers but both mainly prioritized the togo orders. The place is a self-serve, where you get your own utensils and packaged sauce (I don't recommend the packaged sauce its no good). There is no ice cold water served, it's room temperature water only in styrofoam cups. The plates are also styrofoam too. Not good for the environment. The food given is also out of plastic containers which is probably because the focus of the place is on delivery services. There's only one cooling fan so it can get really hot, especially with the Florida heat. Regardless, the food here is delicious.

The menu is a melange of Russian, Turkish, Uzbek, and generically Mediterranean offerings. To start, we had the Mediterranean-leaning "combo platter" with baba ghanoush, hummus, and tzatziki ($16) and the Russian-leaning herring with potatoes ($15; "tomato, cucumber, carrot, mushroom, cabbage, kimchi"). These were so-so. The baba ghanoush and hummus were both extremely smooth, almost whipped in consistency, almost unpleasantly salty. (We love salt and don't shy away from it at all -- but this was excessive.) I personally love a few chunks of eggplant in my baba ghanoush (like a beautiful Jordanian version I had earlier in the day from a stand in Aventura Mall) and a lot more tahini in my hummus, but of course these are stylistic differences / preferences. Tzatziki was very garlicky. The combo came with sliced cucumbers and a bit of pita -- but not anywhere near enough for our family. We did end up eating the surfeit of spreads with our main courses, so all ended well. Herring with potatoes was nothing like the menu description. Instead, it came with, yes, just pickled herring and roasted potatoes (and a huge, huge mound of thinly sliced raw onion, a few sprigs of parsley, a sprinkle of dill, a sliver of lemon). The baby potatoes were nicely roasted, but the pickled herring was quite mediocre, a touch mushy, and almost certainly not prepared in-house. The only distinctively Uzbek dish we tried was the Fried Lagman ($19; "stir-fried hand-pulled noodles in a mix of beef and vegetables, served with eggs"). I can't speak to its authenticity, but it was made with well-textured noodles topped by tender, well seasoned beef, bell peppers, grape tomatoes, and very thinly slivered omelette. The progeny who ordered it enjoyed it very much. Beef shawarma ($19; "cooked on a vertical grill, served in pita bread with tomato, cucumber, lettuce, yogurt sauce, and spices, with French fries on the side") was beautifully presented, a generous portion of thickly-sliced meat wrapped in a very thin layer of flatbread (lavash and not pita?) with a crisscross grill pattern. The Beef Kebab ($24; served with french fries and tomato sauce) was moist and tender, well seasoned. I think the slightly bland tomato sauce was meant for dipping, but the beef didn't need any accoutrements. Fries were fair, either undersalted or not salted at all. I wish we'd held on to the ketchup that had been served with the fries that came with the shawarma. The grilled branzino ($38) was nicely prepared, a medium-sized (about 1 lb) fish beautifully grilled and drizzled with reduced balsamic, served with salad, rice and a side of lemon. The skin was crisp, the fish fresh. Note that food is brought out as it's prepared and some mains may come more quickly than others. We didn't have a huge problem with this as our manners free family is under orders to eat food when it arrives, while it's hot, rather than to wait until everyone's food arrives. Also, we generously poach from one another's plates, and the last one to get her food hadn't been all that hungry for dinner to begin with. The eat-it-as-it-arrives policy turned out to be a good one since the lag time between arrival of the first main and arrival of the last was about 40 minutes. The first few to receive their meals would've had to eat their food stone cold. Sim Sim doesn't serve alcohol, but does have a beautiful tea service and hookah, and allows diners to BYOB without corkage. (All the Russian diners around us seem to have gone the BYOB route and ordered a hookah, which we also didn't see advertised in house.) It's in a strip mall as most restaurants are in this part of Florida, but has pleasant-enough outdoor and indoor seating areas. The outdoor seating is beach style. One server gently pushed salad and Uzbek bread on us, which we declined, but sort of wish we hadn't after watching nearby diners who were probably of Uzbek descent. We're dining with vegetarians on our remaining days in the area, who wouldn't have enough protein options here, but do wish we had time for a return visit. Bookmarked for our next trip.

The woman who cooks/runs this place was all over the place. There was nothing kind, grateful, or warm about her as she took orders and prepared food. Her husband was nice but the lack of attentive service from her was not cool. She was very tuned in to the other couple dining but I called her several times (in that tiny space) and she seemed to not hear me. I also have to say that the size of their homemade teas is super generous. However, while I was there, two tables, including mine, were served Thai Iced Teas with sour milk. When I finally got the owner's attention, she frowned when I told her and said, "I just served that." And then went to the other table to double-check as if my words wouldn't quite do it. lol The other table confirmed it was sour. The owner took the cups, no apology or nothing, and asked us if we wanted it remade. I asked for a coke instead. A bottle was $5... five whole dollars. Egg rolls: okay. Def a bit bland.. Served with some weird ketchupy sweet/sour sauce. I asked for fish sauce, which was good. Paid about $36 for pho, egg rolls, and a drink. If this is your only pho option in the area, go for it, but i was not impressed especially once my stomach processed the sour milk.

I recently visited a new Sichuan restaurant in North Miami, and it was an incredible experience! The highlight for me was the Fu Qi Fei Pian (husband and wife lung slices) -- the flavors were bold and perfectly balanced with that signature Sichuan heat. The mung bean noodles were refreshing, with a nice chewy texture that complemented the spice. I also really enjoyed the dumplings, which had a delicate skin and were packed with flavor.
