We drive 30 minutes to eat here. I wish there were way more of this type of restaurant in Miami, but alas it is what it is. The old owners opened and closed when they felt like it, so hours were inconsistent. Look everything is pretty solid here - they are sichuan cuisine, so most things are spicy. I order in Chinese so the translations might be a bit strange. The water and chili cooked fish is a classic - the green one specifically. Dry pot here is very solid. The squid was very good as well. Took my parents here - these restaurants are everywhere in CA, but they are few and far between in Miami. This spot has become my go to for when I need something solid and reasonably priced! Feels close to home - everyone speaks Chinese here which is great. Some big tables so good for bigger groups. Everything is family style, so come with more people! read more

These are photos of two different trips to this restaurant where we ordered the same thing so let that speak for itself.... This place is a hidden gem in north Miami tucked away in a tiny strip mall on the side of the road. Service is quick and efficient and their sichuan dishes really stand out. A whole fish was able to serve around 5 people and the sides were all delicious. Anything on the menu will be a hit. For Miami, this is very close to authentic Chinese cooking you'll find elsewhere and if you're away from home and craving some real sichuan food this will definitely hit the spot! read more

Will return for the food, which is 4, everything else is 3 or lower. A few black and white photos are interesting. The restaurant changed hand about a year ago. The neighborhood is dingy. Parking in rare too. The name is bit interesting: Sichuan is a landlocked province. It's a great choice in a damp day, especially after the Miami Open when there was a rain delay; then Pegula lost in straight sets. Food is authentic: - Beef with cilantro: wonderful - Tiger pepper: great but (too spice for me) - Spicy flavored boiled Fish: super The house pickled cabbage is good too. All are food is delicious. My lips are numb with medium hot selection. When we got there at 6:30, there's one table; when we left a little over an hour later, three more groups came. All are Chinese. Hong Kong pop songs plays in the background. When I called to reserve a table (thinking it's Saturday night...), the woman who answered has a strong accent. So I spoke to her in Mandarin. She insisted in English. Three servers are doing the minimum: never changed our plates - the boiled fish has a lots of discards. The fish is fresh but it isn't scaled clean - this is big with me. I was pretty OBSESSED when Sichuan opened since the previous owners left (CY Chinese). I was coming pretty often, almost once a week! The shrimp hot pot was my fav, along side the tasty cucumber salad. Food has been pretty consistent but the service lacks attention. You literally need to flag them down, and this happens every single time. It's a chill spot, no frills. Good tasting Chinese options and you definitely need to be open to trying new things on the menu , otherwise you'll get stuck always eating the same things. This is our go-to near Miami for authentic Chinese cuisine. Our favorites include the boiled pork dumplings, pork soup, cucumber salad, and sweet and sour fish! Yum! The staff do not speak English very well but we've learned to make it work. Decor is not fancy and if fine dining is your thing, this is not the place. However, for delicious authentic Chinese cuisine, this is our favorite. It can get busy so be prepared for longer waits for food and service during peak times. read more

Having moved to Miami from NYC we have been disappointed at the dearth of good Chinese restaurants here So when we visited for the 1st time for lunch this week we were pleasantly surprised that the food actually tasted like some of the better sichuan restaurants back home. Very good. A few negatives: The room was completely empty and service was still very slow and prices are high. However I would return again when I want Chinese as there are few better alternatives. As they are empty at lunch I would also suggest they offer a lunch menu with more reasonable prices. That will probably help their business. read more

Went in as a solo diner, I was brought a menu pretty quickly, but then nobody came back for 20 minutes to take my order. The restaurant was busy, but they had too few staff. Finally got my food 39 minutes after that. I was going to walk out at 40 so they just beat my cutoff time. The king pao was disappointing and greasy.
