They were flexible and understanding, which made the process of signing up and showing up for lessons much smoother. That said, I wouldn't return or recommend this location for other autistic families at this time. The instructors didn't seem prepared or confident in working with a neurodiverse child. They frequently checked the time, every few minutes which made it feel like they were just trying to get through the 30 minutes rather than stay engaged. On multiple occasions, they asked my husband what they should have our son do next, which made it clear there wasn't a set plan tailored to his needs. We had explained from the beginning that our son is clingy and may need more time to warm up. Despite that, it felt like the instructors were caught off guard by this every single lesson. I would strongly encourage the staff to receive some basic training or education about autism and neurodiversity in general. Every child is different, and a little understanding and preparation can go a long way in making lessons more effective and inclusive.

You are welcome to one free class per child. I brought them in a few weeks later. One tried ballet, and the other gymnastics. We loved the ballet class and teacher. She was so sweet. Continuing with ballet. We are at a place of just experiencing dance and having fun, not professionally performing. Our youngest liked the gymnastics. I didn't mind at all that they had 2 classes going on at once. There was plenty of room, and they didn't get in the way of one another. The teacher was kind and full of smiles. I was concerned as boy did they ever do a ton of summersaults. My daughter was new and was doing a lot without supervision, and I was waiting for her to injure herself. I wish the young teacher would have paid attention more, and did more spotting. I would have appreciated her guiding her how to do things safely and correctly such as round offs and the bars. Not that I wanted her to know how to do it perfectly, just safely. She also kept on getting kicked in the head by another classmate who was being silly and starting behind her too soon. That was totally missed by the teacher as well. Watching seeing the girls do things thry way they were without anyone guiding them, someone is bound to be hurt. Each room has a table and 2 chairs to watch through the windows. A bit small in the hallway. I tried to be thoughtful and make sure people who couldn't stand a long time had seating. They have a couple of benches when entering to sit, but you wont be able to watch the kids in their classes. A one hour class is great. We will be back for ballet, but will be going elsewhere for gymnastics.

They have you sign waivers that are sent to your email, took our photos, and we were set! It's a small ymca but has everything you need. I signed up for a group fitness class, Zumba, which pretty much had just Spanish speakers in it, including the instructor... but dance is dance whenever you go so you just watch and follow. There weren't that many treadmills, and I think there was just one stairclimber, but I guess if you come early they should have one open. My kids enjoyed the different weight machines. Like every other ymca, the people were chill and minded their business. I came in consecutively for about 3 days. The morning crowd is mostly senior citizens and after about 2 hours or so, groups of kids entered. They have a lot of equipment but it is a bit cramped. I was just glad that the nationwide membership actually worked since I don't see many gyms in the area.

We have been part of Take Five Dance Academy for 6 years, and it truly feels like a second home to…read moremy girls. They would spend every second of every day at the studio if they could! Not only have they grown tremendously as dancers, but they've also grown into more confident, kind, and hardworking young people. The teachers genuinely care about each child and are so intentional about helping them become the best dancers -- and the best people -- they can be. The CCT is wonderful and so friendly. They create such a positive, welcoming environment for families. They are organized, approachable, and always willing to help, which makes everything run so smoothly. As a parent, it brings so much peace of mind knowing our girls are part of such a supportive and well-run community. My older daughter has had the opportunity to be a demonstrator, and it has been such a special experience for her. She loves having the little girls look up to her, and it has helped her grow in leadership and confidence in such a meaningful way. Very strong roots with no-go jiu jitsu as well. He's changed my game ten fold and the people there are just as amazing.
