This BR is so poorly managed and has gone down hill so far that they've finally lost my business because: (1) ALL of the ice cream in the right case is super soft to the point that we didn't enjoy it; ice cream in the left case was super hard and great for eating though harder for them to scoop; (2) maybe it's because it's too hard for them to scoop, but suddenly this store is making very, very small scoops; (3) for years this place has had a really bad smell that hits you when you walk in (I think it smells like dirty diapers but my friend thought is was rotted ice cream). Verdict: Go to Santa Barbara's local ice cream place and pay more for a significantly larger size scoop on a cone. read more

Welllp, as someone else pointed out they close early even tho the window and everywhere else says 10. People drive out of their way to get something and just because of that I won't ever come back. Baskin Robbins is really behind the times. The service has always been fine, the ice cream is good too. My problem is I'm the only person in the family that can have dairy. They have one dairy free flavor that isn't appropriate for a toddler.. 1/3 people have dairy intolerance why only have one non kid friendly flavor? Kinda sad. read more

Went in with Birthday coupon--they would not honor it because it was a "31" day and scoops were $1.50. I sent an email of complaint to their national office and got a speedy reply. They said the owner would call up to rectify the situation. He did call the same day and said I could come in for a free scoop anytime. The birthday coupon had already been used at another Baskin-Robbins so both scoops were free. read more

I have a special love affair with BR since I worked there in high school. Lots of good flavors; the World Class chocolate is always a classic, and I also love the Cherries Jubilee and Daiquiri Ice. The people who work at this location always seem to have a scowl, so I've never tipped. It's really just the ice cream I'm after. read more

Baskin Robbins has been around forever, and they keep some of their original flavors, but this location is so inconsistent and unreliable, we wonder how they stay in business. Visited there tonight and the usual flavor we get (chocolate-peanut butter) was horrible! It tasted watery, the chocolate was much lighter and bland, and there was almost no peanut butter. We have had so many bad experiences with this Baskin Robbins we are not going to go here anymore. $6 for a small portion double scoop of very mediocre ice cream is just not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere. The owner nor the staff seems to care at all about quality or customer service. AND, for those reviews saying Baskin Robbins ice cream is high quality and very good- you have obviously not been to any other places in town like McConnell's or Coldstone Creamery, which are both much higher quality and much lower priced. read more

We stopped in this Baskin Robbins yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised. The one person behind the counter was great. I asked for some water prior to ordering and she asked me if I wanted it with ice or not. She let me try a bunch of flavors with a pleasant smile. She even loaded the tasting scoops. I did not see all the 31 flavors but what i sampled were great. My only disappointment was that they no longer have pistachio ice cream but pistachio almond ice cream and it was not as good as I remember. I can't blame the store nor the employee for that. When taking a trip north and on the 101 fwy and whether I'm going to Santa Barbara, Solvang, Hearst Castle, etc., never fails: B&R, off of State Street is one of my stop overs. Pralines&Cream has been my favorite ice cream since I can remember. Don't care if the parking is tight and only in one direction. Let me just say how much I love ice cream, but this was not my best experience. I arrived at around 9:40pm, and closing time was 10. There were two young ladies, both distracted, and it took them a while to come up front. She was too busy trying to make sure some goddamn mop water was running so they could leave as soon as closing time came. She proceeded to take my order, and then told me that she would have to charge me for every scoop of sprinkles, which I haven't experienced so I was a little taken aback, but told her I would not pay for that. In my opinion, you can not have such little common sense as to complete my ice cream order and then tell me I will be charged after the fact for candy toppings. She rang me up, and I told her that price was way too high for a double scoop, and she argued back that it was correct. Again, have a little more self respect not to argue with a customer. After checking the receipt, I realized that I was right. She had charged me almost $7 for a double scoop, and then, with an attitude, gave me an extra scoop. I am dismayed at the customer service I receive living in the Isla Vista area, because it seems to me that many young college students are just disrespectful and simple minded, only keeping a job to afford their drug habits. Poor product, worse service. Avoid this business at all costs! I did not get what I ordered (and pre-paid) when I ordered an ice cream cake. When I questioned the manager about their mistake, she laughed about it. No offer to correct, no offer to replace, no offer to refund payment. You can never go wrong with Baskin Robbins right? Is this a trick question, you might ask? I guess yes and no. Yes, because the customer service was awful. There were two employees there and they were just plain unhappy to be there. Annoyed to give sample tastings and annoyed to serve you when you ordered. Ok...so I use to frequent the Baskin Robbins daily for a yummy "Cappy Blast"...I did finally come to my senses when I packed on some weight, but boy was it worth it. I have to say that everytime I go into any other Baskin Robbins in any other town they ALWAYS open on time...I would say that in the last year, when ever I frequent the Baskin Robbins on State St. in Santa Barbara, they are never open and able to assist at 11:00 (posted opening hours). I had not been in a while but was downtown running errands today and thought I'd stop by...not only was I waiting outside until 11:05, but another customer that was in a hurry to either order or pick up a cake was waiting as well...needless to say, we both gave up and left without making a purchase due to the fact that the store was not opened!! What a shame to send that type of message to loyal customers! I won't be stopping at that store anytime soon! So Sorry!! read more
