Although I love ice cream I went with chocolate this day. I got the chocolate covered Oreos. But then I saw the peanut brittle and had to get a bag of their freshly made goods. I thought I was going to get out with just that but at the counter the gal offered me a free sample of the fudge. I ended up getting a slab of the dark chocolate fudge too. Sure it was a gratuitous amount of desserts, but I knew they would be loved for a week or so. They lasted almost a week, and I have no regrets, other than maybe I should have gotten that ice cream too.

On top of this, they've completely forgotten items that we have paid for. Now, this isn't the first time this has happened here - but whenever it's happened in the past, staff has always been very apologetic and gone above and beyond to make it right on our next visit. This time? Victim-blaming, and a lackluster recommendation to contact a manager - no apology, no attempt to right the wrong. If I wanted shoddy service and apathetic attitudes, I'd go to a chain. What makes Stork's special is its food, yes, but also its sense of community. And lately? You've been severely underwhelming in this category.

They kindly offered a refund which I took and appreciated, though they really should fix the website to prevent further confusion. It's not a place that's affordable, it's a spot that you pay more because you know it has greatness. much later after lunch and hungry again, I had a bite of the aple pie. My goodness it was good. But when I took a bite of the magic bar I got a happy sugar rush that I hadn't gotten in a while. Scrumptious. I'm glad I stopped in, as any chance to support a smaller local business I think is important. Especially when you can taste the love in what they make.
