Very bad service. The Guy was cleaning and right as I walked in he goes "Damn People!" like he was surprised people were there. He was sweeping, without washing his hands or putting on gloves he proceeded to scoop ice cream. I asked for a Banana split they guy grabs a banana cuts into 18th then puts it into a large cup. Then I asked him can I have the flavors for a classic banana split which of course he does not know. Then he puts the tiny pieces of banana at the bottom of the cup and scooped my ice cream. Then after being asked he did not put whip cream or a cherry on it but he charged me for it. He was clearly high and I felt very uncomfortable in there. His hat was on the side of his had and he had tattoos all over his arms. This guy should be fired he has multiple complaints about him and does not follow the food safety codes. For anyone working there he had tattoo's on his arm a fake gold watch and was wearing his hat sideways. This was on the night of 3/20/2025. Have gone a couple times but only to purchase pre packed ice cream. They have opened now for a little over a month. Well because of their new opening they were offering a buy one get one 2 scoop sundae. A joke. The scoops were so small, they were out of almonds, they measure the amount of hot fudge on a scale. Stopped in to buy a clown cone. Didn't see one in the case but the young man behind the counter asked if he could help me so I asked if they had any clown cones (expecting no). He showed me to another case where they did have three of them. :) He explained the flavors (had to guess on some since they weren't all written on the containers) and I bought one that looked a little melty. Expensive price for a clone cone (the highest I've paid in the county so far - $3.99) and it was also the most stale I've ever had, with the cone part being so soft it was actually extremely chewy and it could be bent and folded over without being damaged (because it had zero crunch left). 4-5 stars for service, 1 star for clown cone (ice cream tasted great, the rest was just too old and soft and chewy!!) I might come again if I thought they would have a fresh cone for me. :) read more

At 9:30pm They were out of plain Waffle cones and gave me a kids size scoop in a kids size cup for a regular size scoop. For a double size scoop it barely covered the bottom of the regular size cup. I have never had this happen at this location. Paul appeared to be extremely tired and when I asked why was he giving me kid size scoops he assured me he wasn't. Won't go to this location ever again. July 22, 2016 RATING 3.5 I've been to this location since 2013 but it has changed. I remember this place to be a lot smaller and now it's large with a bathroom. Unless I'm mistaken this place for something else, they upgraded over the years and it's a lot better. FOOD They offer ice cream cakes, ice cream sandwiches and ice cream by the scoop. I never purchased the pre-packaged ice creams or frozen desserts. But I have had their ice cream scoops and its the same as any other BR franchise. Over 10 years ago, this was THE place to get good quality ice creams but as other competitors have invented new and intresting flavors, BR ice cream has become a "standard" ice cream. Nothing to rave about but it's still good quality and flavorful ice cream. DRINKS The one drink I buy here (and still my favorite) is their Cappuccino Blast. I usually order their Mocha Cappuccino Blast but I'll try other flavors. It's a blended drink with whip cream, very tasty and it quenches my sweet tooth. Great during the summer time. BR offers other drinks but I haven't tried them yet. CUSTOMER SERVICE Over 3 years ago, the customer service was mediocre and that prevented me from coming back. I came back to this location in June 2016 because it was the closest location to me and I was happy to find out that the customer service was a lot better and friendlier. I've had different staff (mostly females) take care of me and they've been friendly and efficient. AMBIANCE It's a friendly and warm environment. Plenty of tables and seating areas. They also have a single bathroom but it does need to be monitored more frequently because the trash can keeps over flowing and the tables need to be wiped more often. Aside from that, it's organized and clean from a glance. They play "BR music", not my taste but its not too loud so I can sit down and relax inside the cafe. No outdoor seating. PRICE I think it's over priced by $1-2 when I compare it to the quality of food but I still pay for it. I just don't come here as often. PARKING This is located within a large strip mall so there's plenty of parking and well lit at night. There is no reason for this to be rated as low as it is, everyone knows what to expect from Bassin Robbins, it never fails to deliver what you'd expect. Great tasting decent enough quality and decent prices. Staff is often newly entered to the workforce teenagers and who doesn't love that? This Baskin Robbins location has the best service out of all the ones I've been to. I walked in and was immediately greeted by Chloe. She recommended flavors based on what I liked. She let me try as many as I wanted until I found my favorite. She had a smile on her face while she helped me at all times which made me feel welcomed. Had a late night craving for something sweet, so we headed to our local ice cream shop. It seems as if they are doing construction on the center because when we pulled in the parking lot was very dark. There were only banners hanging up where the original Store sign was so you couldn't really tell if it was open or not. When we walked in the place was packed. There were two younger guys working who were super attentive and really friendly. Considering how young they were, I didn't expect the great service I got. I ordered the chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and my friend got the new Twix flavor. Both were absolutely delicious, I just wish mine had more cookie dough in it. But, that seems to be the problem no matter where I go. Why don't they just make a cookie dough ice cream? It's the best part. I'll never understand LOL. Needless to say, I'll definitely be coming back. I used to only go to cold stone but this place blows that out of the water on service alone. They seem to do a real good job at hiring. Service and place was dirty. I came here with my 4 year old kid. Literally no one was there and all the servers were messing around speaking to their co-workers and not asking if we were ready to order? I literally had to call them out to make them get our orders. Let me not forget to mention that my daughter almost slipped because of spilled ice cream on the floor. I'm sad to be writing this because the previous owners were so good at this ice cream store. Unfortunately today wasn't a good ice cream day. They made a shake and it was like water. When I asked her why it was so watery she said it's because the blenders are just cleaned and that is the left over water. So you made my shake with left over dishwashing water ? She served it and then when I didn't take it she offered to make me another one. My family LOVES this shop. We picked up an "ice cream party TO-GO" and took it to an event. It was a HUGE hit and really affordable! They prepared: Quarts of Ice Cream, Hot Fudge, Several Toppings, a can of whip cream, cherries, cups, spoons, napkins. They made it so simple! This is the best location! It is always clean and the employees are consistently attentive, helpful, and friendly. The ice cream is delicious and the flavor selection is great. There are plenty of tables inside so it is not cramped. We know how to time it to avoid the crowds, as it can get lively, but never too crowded. They hire our local teenagers and greet you as you come in the door. We love coming for the Tuesday Family Night, but also just enjoy coming on a whim for a special treat. read more

I had my first experience at the store on Arobles. My daughter wanted an Oreo pie for her birthday. The lady said that would be cookies and cream. It was amazing. Oreo cookies on top, whip cream and chocolate fudge. It could not have been better. Ages ranged from 17 to 73 and we all said it was perfect! I was so excited when the new Baskin-Robbins was opening in Thousand Oaks. I love Baskin-Robbins and so do my children. However, my excitement was cut short by the smaller than average scoops and the poor customer service I experienced on many visits. In fact, on my latest visit, the staff person made an error and the manager of this location did not apologize and instead she was unapologetic and tried to over charge me. My kids and I agree that we will drive to the Newbury Park Baskin-Robbins instead and never step foot back into the Thousand Oaks store again. read more

I came in the other day on the hunt for a cake! I had no idea what to get, other then something tasty for my friends birthday dinner. I have always relied on Baskin Robins for birthday cakes, and yet again they handled my cake dilemma with no issue. I happened to be in a rush and had to quickly figure something out and I met a nice employee named Hannah! She helped me though the usual process and found me a perfect cake for the birthday dinner. She helped me to find a fitting design and figure out a good size for the medium group we were hosting. I will be back soon for my own birthday (April) and plan on recommending the store to all my friends and family in the future. Thank you for great service, it is hard to find. :) read more

I got to say I only love coming here because of the fact they sell chocolate cover bananas. But they do lack in customer service: when customers come in you should greet them, ask them if they want to taste any of the flavors, and when they leave they should say thank you for coming in or have a great day or night. Also, I noticed most of their tables were very dirty. No one bothered to clean them. Employees were too busy concentrated on back of the house when also should be focused on front of the house. I Came today for some icecream I asked for a single scoop because you get a free one off the app. I also bought a Sundae. Ended up getting to the register and asked if it's free with the app. The teens said yes and we tried scanning it twice. After it didn't work I don't know why. He asked the young girl who was there if he can do it manually. Instead of giving me a free scoop they gave me $1 dollar off. That's unfair and that is also false advertising. My family has ordered birthday cakes from Baskin Robbins for the past 20 years. It's a fun little tradition we have each year. Went in last week on a Friday afternoon to order a birthday cake for my sister. After asking a couple of questions about the cakes, one of the employees mentioned that I could come in the next morning and speak directly with the cake decorator to ensure my cake came out exactly how I wanted it. So I came in the next morning and ordered with the cake decorator. Needless to say, when I went to pick up the cake the next Monday, they had made it entirely with the wrong kind of frosting (I asked for buttercream designs as my sister is not a fan of the whipped cream frosting they sometimes use, and the cake decorator said this was no problem). The cake decorator who was there for my pickup (a different one) was very rude and tried to make it out like it was my fault. When I pointed to my order sheet that she had brought out and said that it clearly said buttercream frosting on it, she said the girl who took my order was new and shouldn't have taken it the way I wanted it and shouldn't be taking orders in the first place. Okay, but how is that my fault? Then she said someone should have called me about it to have me approve a changed design. I told her nobody called me and all she could say was "someone should have." No apology anywhere. I repeatedly told her that I wasn't blaming her, I just wanted the mistake taken care of, as these cakes are not cheap to have the orders messed up so carelessly. Nevertheless, she continued to address me in a very rude and disrespectful manner. She finally said I could come see the manager the next day for a refund, as nobody in the store had any access to that or any coupons. In the end, I was only offered a measly $3 off coupon for my NEXT cake order. Horrible customer service and zero accountability from the management down to the employees. They have no appreciation for their customers who keep coming back year after year. Sad to have to walk away from a place we order birthday cakes from every year. read more

I'm pretty frustrated right now and will never order a cake or buy ice cream from this location ever again! Went here Saturday to order a cake for my sons 3rd birthday which is today, Monday. They took down all the instructions and asked what time I needed the cake by. I told them 4PM on Monday. My husband went to pick up the cake now at 5.30PM and they have not even started making it and said the person who took down the instructions did not take it down right so we had to start all over again. Used to go to Newbury Park for ice cream until I found out about this location from the fundraiser events they do every month for Los Cerritos Middle School band. Not only is the location very convenient and the store much bigger than other Baskin Robbins, the staff is very polite and friendly. Love their Tuesday Night Family Nights, which I don't think the Newbury Park location does. read more

I had a very bad experience at this store today (6/14/14, around 1:15PM). We went there to redeem a "free kid cup" certificate my son get from elementary school as honor student. But the staff in the store was very impolite and complete ignored us. We were in the store for more than 10 minutes but he only served other customers even if they came after us. We were the last to be served when there were no other customers in the store. I don't know what's wrong with this young guy, but I was busy with the two boys and didn't want to argue with him in front of the kids. What a disgusting BR and a rip off. The two scoop sundae had less ice cream than one scoop ANYwhere else. And then the kid added so much whipped cream that it overflowed, so he took the medium cup and plopped it inside a large cup, which only made a mess. Hopefully this franchisee hires decent employees once summer is over, but I think we'll head to Haagen Dagz on TO Blvd next time we want ice cream. I guess it's true: you get what you pay for. I went to BR today and had the most exemplary service. Despite the busy crowd, the service was impeccable and the worker (Tommy) was very kind and personable even though he had many people to attend to. One of the nicest employees Ive ever met. Many are usually uninterested in ice cream scooping but Tommy was a shining star. Go team! read more
