We stayed at High Sierra RV Park February 16-19 (Presidents Weekend). We arrived late, so our…read morereservation info was taped up on the office door. We stayed in back-in, FHU site 42 which is in the only row of 50 Amp sites, which are near the entrance. The site was completely level! The electric, water and sewer connections worked as expected and were well placed. There is absolutely NO WiFi. AT&T, Verizon and TMobile cellular had full bars throughout the park. Cable is available, but all I could get was Telemundo. The sites were roomy enough. The 30amp FHU sites farther inside the park appeared roomier though. They also back up to the rivers edge. The Fresno River runs along the length of the park and at this time of year, there are multiple waterfalls that create very relaxing white noise. The campground was very quiet and easy to relax in. The office is well stocked with all the RV essentials and Katie the manager, was very helpful and friendly. The maintenance guy was super helpful and answered all my questions throughout the day. There is some room for the kids to ride bikes and there are two rarely used horseshoe pits. The park is dated and needs some TLC, but it is in Oakhurst, on the Fresno River, and near the southern entrance to Yosemite. The rustic feel is very nice. I would stay again when in the area.

very basic. However the water hole in the back next to the lagoon type place takes it up a star…read more No amenities. No frills. the water is great if you don't go in the water because they have families coming from the other side outside of the rv park bathing themselves in the fresh water which is gross. Plus some long term rvs are held together with duct tape. Fingers crossed.checking in for one night only. Update: was up from 1 to 5 with bass techno music coming from a very nasty rv and guy we did not want to tangle with so we pulled out in the dark. I do not recommend this place.

Not the greatest but I guess it's what happens when you sleep outside. Restrooms were near the site and fairly clean for ph lic restrooms, would have been better if it also had soap. Furthermore, our site had an uneven and rotten picnic table, and the fire-pit was nearly full with ash and sand which I had to clean out. It was also disappointing to encounter a staff member, specifically an older, larger Hispanic woman, who had an issue with authority. At one point during our stay, I returned to the site after my baby had been throwing up to grab some things for his stomach. I was driving around a corner at approximately 10 miles per hour (yes, I know, 5 mph over the posted speed limit), when this staff member came flying around the corner in the middle of the road, causing her to swerve and nearly hit me, with my child in the car. Rather than accepting that we were both going a little too fast, she threatened to kick me off the grounds and chewed me out for speeding while she herself was disregarding their own rules. Overall, paying $43 a night during the slow season, with no complementary services and having to clean up the site before we could even set up, made the experience very disappointing. I think paying the extra $5 for a nearby campground that offers firewood, kind staff, and a clean, well-kept site would be much more worth it. 2 stars for at least having a nice bathroom. Summary of frustration: The cramped site layout, poor maintenance, and staff's poor handling of a stressful situation made the experience feel far below expectations, especially for the price. The lack of amenities and cleanliness only added to the frustration.

We had the best time. Here's hoping the holiday isn't too crazy and all your care and kindness doesn't go unnoticed! Thanks for making it so wonderful for us.

Of course we got there way early because the instructions said arrive an hour before your appointment time. Good little soldiers we, arrived at 8:02 for our 9am paddle. By 8;10 they wanted to know if we wanted to get breakfast first or just go. Pffft! Lemme at it. The other good: okay, it's the Sierra Nevada. How can it not be glorious on a lake? Buuuuuut... here comes the bad: waiting, waiting, waiting at the end for someone to notice we came back. I blew my requisite emergency whistle twice in frustration and still nothing. Probably ten minutes of employees not seeing us, or maybe preoccupied with the gasoline powered craft. Which brings me to the next maybe not bad but not great... we were the only people who didn't need to sign the disclosure that we had to pay for our fuel separately. That, in and of itself isn't so bad... but it meant this 3.5 mile lake was choppier than some oceans on which we've kayaked. Constant wake. We had to stay on the shore side of the large orange buoys, and the motorized pontoon boats, sea-doos, jet boats with water skis... they were on the other side. It's like when I was a kid flying 11 hours LAX - LHR in the 1970s and the smoking section's boundary changed based on the ratio of smokers. Yeah, there was segregation but hoo, didn't make a lotta difference. Bouncy, bouncy, bouncy. Still, we're on the lake, it's a beautiful day, what's not to love? The ugly wasn't appalling by any stretch but it wasn't great either, and it's the reason I'd rate this place 3 of 5 stars. It got the job done but I didn't see any evidence that people cared. The kayak was dirty and had trash in/on it - half a paddle padding torn off and river weeds. The paddle was held together with peeling electrical tape, had only one drip ring with no padding (maybe sitting on the prow?) and the paint was chipping off. And the drink holder was half full of slimy river water. Blech. Who wants to risk drinking nasty water running down your bottle? For $250 for two hours, I would expect better.
