If you know me, even if through my reviews, you can probably tell I am not much of an outdoorsman, so Bass Pro Shops is not a norm for me...however, on occasion when I need something relative to outdoor spaces such as grills or accessories for a day on the water, Bass Pro Shops is a go to. And also bringing my nephews here when they visit is always a win, as they entertain themselves for a while with all the fascinating items and the fish tank! This BP is located in Opry Mills, so I am very selective of the times I will go here as traffic and shoppers can go from 0 to 60,000 real quick. My latest adventure here was to pick up a grill I had been eyeing on line for a few weeks. I finally decided to commit and wanted to pick up at the store after laying eyes on it. Upon arriving, I ask associate at the desk where the grills were and she led me right to them. Once I confirmed I was good and ready to make the move, she helped me purchase and set me up for pickup, which was around the side of the building. While she was super friendly and helpful, the warehouse associate was less than on both fronts. He did not speak a word to me and was fairly rough loading my grill. I brushed it off as I was excited, but it was still worth noting. The grill is a house BP brand and so far, I am absolutely loving it! It is a dual grill with half grate and half flattop, which I had been after for a long time. Cost was decent as well. Overall, Bass Pro Shops is a cool spot to wander around aimlessly in, or a useful spot to visit and get exactly what you are after. Again, while I am not an avid outdoorsman, I can enjoy a good BP visit on occasion! read more

You could easily spend hours, perusing through countless brands, apparel, footware, cookware, and firearms. Since we purchased many items, Customer Service was gracious enough to help us place the orders online and have them delivered to to our home. First and foremost, great service. I was greeted by Andrew Lynn who was a great Bass Pro Shop representative. He knew the products, he was on target with professional recommendations and I was given his undivided attention. Bass Pro Shop is a good place to bring the family, the kids, friends or to visit solo. The wide variety of merchandise is guaranteed to have something for everyone. We love this place. We don't shop here a ton because its a bit of a driver, but we would if we were closer. We came for Santa and found out how many amazing toys they have...strategically placed around Santa's Wonderland of course : ) The toys weren't what you'd find in other toy commercial stores as much of them related to the products and brands that they carry. We didn't have much time to mill around (with 3 littles tagging along) but will definitely come for another exploration at some point. read more

We did purchase some clothes however made in China. I went to the firearms sales counter 2X to inquire, with full interest in buying, but for some reasons I was very much invisible to the sales staff. Even with eye to eye contact many, many, many times but due to me apparently being invisible to just the sales staff, I was never waited on. Even those who came up after me were acknowledged and given service. So I left and went over to the boat area only to find that the boat desk guy was too busy playing with his cellphone to even look up and acknowledge me. I guess i remained invisible. The front door greeters were very nice as we entered and exited so maybe I wasn't invisible after all. I don't plan on visiting the store again. I can find other frantises that will offer me coutious service and take my money. Shame on you! read more

I am done with Bass Pro after they did everything but take my credit card out of my pocket and swipe it so I could pay them to pitch me a time share. I could easily see some meek or gullible fool falling for their scam. It's a dishonest way to make money and the single experience has turned me off the brand forever. read more

Sharing this review on behalf of my dad, who's less familiar with technology. During his visit today (3/29), my dad went to the fishing department to look at fishing rods. He spoke to the team member behind the register about seeing a higher-end brand of rod. The employee completely ignored my dad, even though he was right in front of him and there were no other customers at the desk. Because he was ignored, my dad asked another employee that was nearby who then repeated my dad's question to the original employee who was still behind the register. The original employee responded "I heard him. He's looking for the cheapest rod." Surprised at this response, my dad responded "that's what you heard, not what I said." The original employee then said that there are some of the rods available in the back, but was unwilling to show my dad any of the available stock, so my dad left the store without making a purchase. It is very upsetting how quickly this employee at the Nashville, TN store was willing to pass a judgment on my dad's ability to purchase high-end fishing equipment based on his appearance alone. My dad is a seasoned fisherman, regularly taking fishing trips both domestically and internationally, and Bass Pro has always been his go-to for fishing equipment. Based on this recent experience, he no longer plans to shop at Bass Pro Shops. Because of the ever-increasing availability of fishing equipment from online retailers, my dad will take his business elsewhere. I hope that Bass Pro management takes this opportunity to rectify the situation and ensure that their employees do not inaccurately pass judgments based on biases prejudices in the future. We've reached out to Bass Pro Customer Service but have yet to get a response. If we hear back, I'll update this review. read more

This place always cracks me up because half the people there are just there to gawk at everything. No one looked terribly outdoorsy but what do I know? They have a knowledgeable staff, a wide selection of products, and cool stuff to look at. Around the back, fudge is made. Their bathrooms are also very clean and super extra. I've been to Bass Pro Shops many times in my life but this is the first time I've ever had such a wonderful shopping experience, and it was because of the people there. I needed to pick up some things from the fishing department, and as I exit my vehicle a young man in his BPS uniform is also walking into the store and we talk on the way in. While shopping in the fishing department I meet the young man I walked in with...Eli and we talk about fishing reels and fishing in general. I also meet Kathy while at the counter and we talk about Small Mouth fishing and the best lures based on where I'm going. She wasn't quoting something out of a "fishing textbook", she knew her stuff! Throughout the hour I was in the department I would talk with Kathy or Eli about different things I was looking for. I have been out of the fishing world for quite some time, and Eli introduced me to the newest craze...Whopper Toppers. Bottom line...it was Eli and Kathy made this shopping trip memorable AND enjoyable. This versus the hundreds of other visits I have made to BPS that were quickly forgotten after I paid and walked out the door. I was shopping for a pair of binoculars in the hunting section of the store the middle of April 2021 and couldn't believe the rudeness of the staff behind the counter! They were paying no attention to those customers waiting, and never acknowledged any of us - or tried to bring in extra help. When I finally got waited on, the salesman didn't seem to care if I bought a pair of binocs or not - If I hadn't needed this purchase for a birthday party that afternoon, I would definitely have left - rare to find customer service this poor! read more

I am not a fishing kind of man. Or hunting. Or camping (though that one is growing on me). I sip quality coffee and read books and write poetry. So what would this place have for me? Well if you have ever been to a Bass Pro Shop, you know it has a little bit of everything. For me, it has equipment for kayak's. But looking for life jackets is just a wasted trip so I had to take a walk around. And I am glad I did. It appears that camping including making coffee over the fire. I could learn to love that. Pots, enamel mugs, and more. Then the skillets took me back to my grandmother cooking breakfast. I almost bought like 5 of them. What really surprised me though was the food. Jerky, trail mix, dehydrated, etc. I could have saved a trip to the grocery store if I knew all this was here. It was interesting to see the cornucopia of items I have no idea what they are used for and in the process be greeted by a number of the friendly team. Like all locations, the parking lot is massive and it is just around the corner from the Grand Ole Opry. If you need something or you just want to get inside somewhere, this is a good option. *Insider's Tip -If you haven't been to one before, there is always a fish display in the middle in the very back. I love Bass Pro Shops. Who doesn't? I don't love getting bombarded with aggressive time share peeps, but I love everything else! They have most all of the camping stuff I needed, a great selection of guns and knives, tons of clothing, and solid sales. I picked up a new pair of waterproof hiking boots on sale, a utility knife, tons of camping things, and some Lodge gear. I didn't work with any associates and actually haven't ever talked to anyone in the store except the timeshare guy and the cashiers, but I never felt ignored or like I couldn't grab someone if I needed to. Every time I've gone in, I had a purpose and I knew what I needed and where to find it. What they don't have in store, they usually make up for online. Literally the worst customer service!! Every time I come down here there's an issue. Save time & buy your firearms elsewhere. I purchased a G43 on 07/01/2021, woke up early to get my ID squared away & brought the paper ID. They tried giving me a hard time but after calling BS they let me purchase. TODAY I'm down here with the same ID, passport & vehicle registration & they will not release my firearms I purchased online regardless of my multiple forms of identification. They said "the paper ID is over 30 days old, can't do anything for you" after showing me my property, confirming the previous transactions & watching me wait 2 hours. read more

The lines were long and the customer service representative directed some people in our line to his desk. This guy calls me out out of the 3 customers and tries to accuse me of stealing. I love this place. I will hang out at this store for a few minutes and then I realize it's 2 hours later than I thought. The fish tank, while it hasn't really changed much, is cool. The fishing tackle selection is crazy, almost too much, even some saltwater tackle. I really like some of the store brand (Red Head) items...jeans and boots mostly. The sale on ammunition was great, they were the same as the online stores without having to pay shipping. Just about everything for outdoors. read more

Ordered a gun online and went to pick it up but waited 1 hour and could not get any help. They have a waiting system and even though there was only one other person waiting I could not get any help. They made us wait while they took 2 walk ups and sold them guns and did their paperwork. They can just keep their guns, I'll shop local gun shops that have customer service. read more

I am a country girl so this was a definite stop when my boyfriend and I were in Nashville. We needed to kill some time before our show at the Grand Ole Opry and the mall is right next door. We looked at the clothes and camping equipment. We also looked at dog toys because we needed to get something for the babies for when we returned home! Some things were a bit pricey but you were getting good quality for what you get. I would love to come back sometime soon. The Bass Pro shop at Opry Mills in Nashville is a huge outdoor life store with sporting goods and camping gear. They are a national chain but I specifically recommend visiting the Nashville store because of their gigantic River Fish Aquarium. I was wowed by this fish tank, because I was idly wandering the Opry Mills Suburban Mall which is a little bit boring and mostly bland, but this is a pretty cool fish tank. Forgive me but I live for cheap thrills such as this. The aquarium is gigantic and has a slew of native Tennessee fish. They even have one of those really strange Paddlefish, check out one of these on google, and you will want to stop by the Bass Pro shop to see it in action. Hey, this is a great spot, for a completely cheap thrill, and you can even learn a little about native Tennessee wildlife. read more

I'm sitting in the Nashville Bass Pro Shops parking lot, having just been told "you're screwed" by an employee because the company that makes the crossbow I took in went out of business. This is the same Bass Pro Shop that sold me this crossbow two years ago with the added benefit of having a lifetime warranty. So the consumer gets "screwed" while Bass Pro Shop keeps racking up profits. In the rare occasion a company goes out of business, wouldn't it be worth customer loyalty to stand by Billy's promise two years ago that I have a lifetime warranty. I don't blame Billy. I love just going and walking around the store. It's got to be my favorite store ever! And the prices are not inflated like you would expect a big store like this to be. I feel comfortable with every purchase I make that I am not getting ripped off... Staff is always friendly and helpful. This past winter I was looking for a tree stand and one employee explained all his experience and gave me his best opinion on which one I should get, and I'm glad I got it. Buy your Tracker boat from a local dealer instead! Bass Pro's non-commissioned, uneducated staff sell an ungodly amount of these budget boats making each individual another stat and not a valued customer. It started a couple weeks ago when I went in to the Nashville Bass Pro to buy a Grizzly Tracker 1754 for my Dad's 61st birthday. The "salesman", who will remain unnamed (along with other staff members for their protection), showed his lack of boat knowledge early on after we picked out the Minn Kota PowerDrive Bow mount trolling motor and asked 'if I wanted it to be mounted on the bow or stern'. I laughed because I thought he was joking.. Sadly, he wasn't. The main problem here is that he told me the MK PowerDrive had the capability to connect with the (2) $1400 Humminbird Helix 9 units I purchased, via the I-Pilot Link technology. Unfortunately this is NOT the case. After 2016, MK stopped making the exchangeable head unit for the PowerDrive line of trolling motors allowing for the IPILOT Link. (Please note the PowerDrive DOES have IPILOT but NOT the 'link' technology, meaning I can't control the trolling motor through my Helix units). Therefore making this trolling motor obsolete and useless for what I was after. So now I begin to make calls to Bass Pro looking for options as to how I can get the MK Ultrex in exchange. For five days I called and was told I'd have to wait for so-and-so to call back because they were currently too busy. On day five I called boat sales once more and tried to explain this scenario: "I bought a boat. was sold the wrong trolling motor. Will gladly pay extra for the MK Ultrex if you will honor the exchange." He told me he would have to talk to someone in electronics or call me back and I got very upset and said that it was BS, he hung up on me. So I decided to call the corporate sales office is Missouri. I never reached anyone for 2 days and never received a call back... not surprised at this point. Today I went to the store location to present my case in person. Firstly, I apologized to the salesman for becoming upset on the phone to who ever it was I like with. I was put off by salesman and told to wait for the manger. The manager came in 15 minutes later (to whom I also apologized for becoming upset on the phone) to tell me that there is no way he can take back the 'used' trolling motor that was installed on the boat because he couldn't do anything with it. I countered with, 'yes you can because it would be no different than me doing a regular item return that was well within the Bass Pro return policy'. In a very annoyed way, he sent me to the original salesman that initially greeted me to ultimately find out what the difference in cost was between the two MK motors. Manager told salesman to 'just figure this out and give him (me) what he needs.' I waited another 15 minutes so salesman could finish his stack of paperwork on POTENTIAL sales as a FINAL sale customer (me) sits and continues to patiently wait for help. Salesman finally does the simple math on the cost difference, chicken scratched it on a ripped piece of paper, tossed it across the table and said 'take this to manager.' Once again, here I am doing an associates job and go track down manager. Manager again told me I would have to wait so he could finish pushing boats around... so, you guessed it, I waited patiently for another 10 minutes. Manager finally comes back, says The trolling motor was ordered and it will be sent to the boat shop where I would have to pay additional labor hours to have them swapped!!! Currenry I'm waiting on my new trolling motor that I will gladly pay for TO INCLUDE the labor hours just to close this terrible chapter. I've been a loyal Bass Pro Customer my entire life. I've spent thousands of dollars over the years on tackle alone and now about $26,000 for a boat. The way I have been treated as a burden and another number instead of a Very valuable long term customer is disgusting. The lack of urgency, lack of product knowledge, amount of mismanagement and quite frankly the amount in which these people do not care, is enough to say I will never buy a single lure from Bass Pro again. (FYI Tackle Warehouse and Academy Sports have better prices anyway. Link to websites below). I know I don't make a dent in their overall sales and they will never 'feel' my absence but I will spend my money and time elsewhere from now on. It's not just a place to buy hunting gear and your next boat, it's a place to be freaked out by the kind of fish that live in your rivers. The aquarium is situated in the middle of the store, and is the source of awe and added fear to those of us that just don't trust the muddy water of the south. I come here at least twice a year. For my husband's birthday to get camping gear, which they have an astounding selection, and for my brother's Christmas present. This year I lucked out and found a bin of fake ducks that he uses for hunting for five dollars a piece. Some of these guys go for almost fifty dollars so I grabbed as many as my husband and I could hold on to and walked out with quite a bargin. The clothes here are rediculous, but there are some cute options. It's not just camo and mesh, and it's the largest Bass Pro Shop I've ever been in so I think it's well worth a sportsman's time to come and at least check it out. read more

Great products and prices. We visited Good Friday 2019 around 10:00 AM. It was very busy which should be expected on a holiday. The issue we had was the lack of adequate check out isles open. There were long lines at the front check outs and a long line at the rear entrance to the mall. I tried to call and ask if a second check out could be opened but no one would answer the phone. I tried at least 6 times but no answer. Poorly managed customer help. read more
