Dear God , make me a bird so I can fly far far away .... Dear God, make me a bird so I can fly far far away .... I said I'd never come back, but here I am sitting on the sun tracker floating living room .. I spend approximately 2 hours of my Saturday every week here .. sitting ... thinking about the mysteries of the universe and all the other things I'd rather be doing .... You hear of men sittin' waiting on the wives to shop .. holy shit , this is worse....

We love this place. We don't shop here a ton because its a bit of a driver, but we would if we were closer. We came for Santa and found out how many amazing toys they have...strategically placed around Santa's Wonderland of course : ) The toys weren't what you'd find in other toy commercial stores as much of them related to the products and brands that they carry. We didn't have much time to mill around (with 3 littles tagging along) but will definitely come for another exploration at some point.

This place always cracks me up because half the people there are just there to gawk at everything. No one looked terribly outdoorsy but what do I know? They have a knowledgeable staff, a wide selection of products, and cool stuff to look at. Around the back, fudge is made. Their bathrooms are also very clean and super extra. We get it, you're Game of Thrones and hunting enthusiasts. I wanted a decoy duck by my friends wouldn't let me get it. Don't go with my friends. They have no taste.

The aquarium was really neat, lots of different fish that I have never seen before.

Once inside, I scoped the shoes and then started the follow the sizeable loop through the store to see all the goods from clothing, hats, bikes, coolers, floats and more. Legit everything and anything a professional or novice sportsman could want. I was there for the shoes and clothes, and really like their selection of sun shirts and the varieties of shoes, especially Hoka's. Pricing was standard for a retail spot like this, definitely no discounts here. Service was non-existent for me. I did not directly need assistance, but I did pass by several associates and was never greeted or acknowledged. Overall, cool store that I am happy to swing back through when the outdoors call!

I made my way onto the Greenway via the Kohl's trailhead, which is an entrance found at the back end of the Kohl's department store parking lot. It's not glamorous, but gets the job done. At this entry point you are directed under, around and onto the Bob Sheehan Memorial Bridge. As you walk this path, you are next to the Stones River, as well as Lebanon Pike. Once you get beyond the immediate area, you finally hit the trails. The trails are a collection of pathways from wide roads between the river and neighborhoods, to slimmer walkways in the woods. There is not one identity for the trails here, and they seem kind of pathed together. But even so, they get the job done for those who enjoy walking, jogging or biking. Additionally, Ravenwood Park can be found just a half mile or so down the trail from the Kohl's trailhead. While I didn't not explore this park, it too has an interesting history. There is a lot of construction happening along large stretches of the trails, mostly that of new neighborhoods. This takes away from the nature aspect of the greenway, but I get it... Overall, the Stones River Greenway Trails get the job done. I prefer other stretches of the greenway such as those near Two Rivers, but when in the area or just needing a change of scenery, this portion of the trail is a decent option.

Nice little hike on a paved trail. We saw lots of deer! Great parking at the old lodge right off…read morethe road.
