Very bad service in the firearm section. The people behind the counter were only helping the white people, they saw me (I'm Hispanic) they just passed Me right up. Once I got to talk to one of them first thing they asked me if I was signed up clearly there was no waitlist on the screen and second thing he asked me was if I was window shopping only clearly implying I wasn't going to buy anything. They need to change those old head racist employees they have in the back all of them. read more

Great place to shop for various sporting needs. The Uncle Bucks Fish Bowl and Grill next door is alright so I've heard as I've never eaten there and probably never will as it just doesn't look appealing. Do not buy a boat from them. I applied and left a $500 deposit to put the boat on hold which hasn't even been made. I was not approved and now they won't give me the $500 deposit back. Waited at the counter for 45 minutes while they completely ignored everyone talking to each other making racist jokes about the people of color not wanting to wait in line. No help or assistance was provided by employees, a customer was telling other customers about the queue. This is a store that also doubles as a tourist attraction. I ended up wanting to get out of the house on a Saturday afternoon and stay in the air conditioning. And while driving around Round Rock, I happened to remember this destination. Basically, if it's hunting, fishing, or even vaguely connected to the outdoors, they have it. They've got everything from boats to ATVs to fishing to firearms. Bass Pro Shop has a huge selection and it's spread out for you to look at and try most things. In fact, if anything, some things, like knives, are so spread out that you might not even think they carry what you're looking for. They also have a huge variety of candy and snack foods to help you make it through a road trip. Overall, the prices are competitive with most retail outlets, but for some areas, the selection isn't as comprehensive. For example, their selection of 5.11 clothing and bags are very limited. Definitely worth a stop regardless. read more

Love this store! My Kids and I can spend hours here just looking at all the cool stuff. I bought my Ascend T10 Kayak here about a year and a half ago. It's seen many hours on the water since then and it still looks brand new, aside from a few scratches on the bottom. Good selection of Fishing gear. Friendly and knowledgeable staff too. read more

I would have given 0 stars it it were an option. I have visited this store several times in the past 6 months. Each time, I have been accosted by no less than a half dozen different employees, all pushing the same agenda...they all want me to open a Club credit card. I have respectfully told each one, "no thank you" but every employee in the store asks me the same question. I'M TIRED OF IT. I'm going to Academy from now on! Yes, they have great clothes and outdoor gear at great prices. Yes, the staff is helpful and knowledgeable when you have questions. But what really sets this place apart is how they treat customers... Since it opened several years ago, we visited the Bass Pro Shop in Round Rock regularly with our dogs, Charmin and Paxton. The employees doted on them, lavished them with hugs and treats, and as time went by introduced them to the other shoppers -- "Meet Charmin and Paxton...they have been coming here since opening day! Yes, you may pet them. They are so sweet." And, we were thrilled to have a place to take them on very hot and very cold days. We'd say, "Bass Pro Shop," and they would dash to the door. Charmin and Paxton aren't with us now. (I suspect they're getting pets in the Great Bass Pro Shop in the sky.) And, because of the pandemic, we haven't been regular visitors. But we did go today. From the moment we walked into the store, we were welcomed with beaming smiles and warm "Welcome back!" greetings. And, "Who are your new babies?" because we now have Melman and Coco with us on our visits. Five employees approached us, and *all* mentioned that we had been missed. You just can't know how much that meant to us after having been limiting contact for so long. We'll be making regular pilgrimages again soon. And, Melman and Coco will understand what it means when we say, "Bass Pro Shop." read more

When I was there recently, an employee approached me and asked if I needed help, which is always appreciated, especially these days. When I told her what I was looking for, she went above and beyond to assist me. I was very impressed! The employee at checkout was super friendly and helpful too. I can agree with the average rating of 3 stars, but on an exceptional day, only. And, based upon my experience today, 2 stars was still way, way too generous. 1 star seemed appropriate, actually, darn-near generous based upon a discussion -- with the Manager on Duty no less -- following our shopping experience. Our experience today included the store being completely out of two (2) items for which we specifically drove just under an hour one-way; an absolutely horrible selection of several items for which a sale began, only, today; facing (Yep. I used to work retail, too.) in multiple areas that look like a 2-year old had been tasked, here; a near-lecture by an arrogant Team Lead, once we inadvertently picked up an item from one of these poorly-faced areas; a Customer Service rep that could not operate her computer, when I asked her to check stock at other locations as well as the warehouse; and, roughly a half-dozen associates that simply pointed me in the direction of something, rather than assisting me in finding that something. And, seriously, if that was not enough, while the arrogant Team Lead went off along with an Assistant Manager to find the correctly-priced product referenced earlier, two (2) cashiers threw Bass Pro Shops under the bus for how staffing, scheduling, inventory, etc. are being handled. I followed up with 'the' Manager on Duty, later, to discuss these items to which he seemed about as indifferent and uncaring as one could possibly be, while being quick to cite the store's phenomenal sales numbers in lieu of the challenges of COVID. I don't get it ... Perhaps the clientele rating this location as high as they do, in reality, simply have no real barometer for genuine, good ol' fashion Customer Service. Perhaps this same clientele simply has too much money and, then, no concept of a good deal; genuinely earning business -- and repeat business; etc. Perhaps this same clientele is in as much of a hurry to get out of the store as the sales people seem to be. And, then, perhaps a combination of all the above. That's sad ... very, very sad. read more

Many pros at this place and I will continue to support it. We need more places like these so please don't let it die. Pros: -they hire all age group and ethnicities here but the service is very consistent. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. -their items are high quality -even with high quality their prices are competitive. I checked Amazon against here and it was the same. Why not buy locally to support it? I will always support here before other retails or online- they have more overhead -the kids always get a treat coming here to see the different animals. -it is always nice and clean and organized -they are keep up with the festivities and decor -parking is easy -they have an arcade and bowling area The only con I can think of is food isn't the best. Bass Pro shop in Round Rock has serious issues. My husband and I spent a half a day looking for a boat and he finally after 3 hours found what he wanted and was willing to spend $60,00 at that location on a bass boat. He did all of the paperwork and paid a deposit. He had a boat that was already appraised at approx $11,000 and took that into consideration. Next few days he delivered his trade in boat to that store and then was called back to be told they would offer him only $5,000. That is an insult and totally wrong. Whomever they had appraise that boat is costing them sales. 15 different friends business owners along with boat professionals said that is not acceptable. The salesman was very helpful and agreed that something was wrong with that situation as well as the mechanic. They did mark the boat down $6,000 so that apparently was they way for them to recuperate their money back by screwing the customer. Very misleading and false advertising. Folks, not only did it cost him a sale but the manager a $60,000 sale. There is something going on behind the scenes for something like this to happen. We will be sharing this information all over social media and if this is the way Bass Pro Shop does business they will lose more sales We along with many friends have spent a lot of money in that Bass Pro Shop. Many fisherman and individuals will receive this message. Very bad Management or they wouldn't let this happen! read more

I never knew I could have so much fun at this place. The place is very well organized with plenty in selection for anything hunting, fishing, camping, or anything outdoors related. When you walk in, to the left is a big aquarium with different fishes inside (catfish and stripped bass are the two i recognized). Along the entire wall of the store are stuffed animals of all kinds. Just walking around with my niece and nephew was an adventure for them. They could constantly point out some animal they saw that was cool. Bats and deers and bears, oh my! Next door is a restaurant with a bowling alley that I'll write a separate review for. But this store is definitely an adventure on its own. Prices seems to be fairly competitive. However I was shopping for kayaks in particular and noticed they only carried medium to high grade kayaks, nothing below $300 bucks. Also, the exit and entrance are two separate sections of the store, so entrance is for entrance only and exit is for exit only. read more

The brand new Bass Pro Shop has perfectly captured that wonderful Black Friday at Walmart customer experience. It all starts with a Hobbesian-nightmare of a dramatically-undersized parking lot. There are no spaces available; just lines of cars futilely crawling bumper-to-bumper through a packed lot. When you do give up and park across Bass Pro Drive (Teravista) in the Outlet parking, be careful that you don't get drilled running across a busy two-lane road! It's outdoor fun for the whole family! For the sake of honesty, I'll stop here. My family never actually made it inside Bass Pro Shop. We won't be back for many months, as this facility was inadequately scoped and constructed. Stay away...unless you really want that Black Friday in June experience. read more

I went over to Bass Pro Shop this morning to buy some gear for an upcoming c19-safe fishing trip. I was dubious when walking to the front door and none, not one, of the customers coming in were wearing masks. Warning flag 1. I put on my mask and sanitized my hands and made it through the front door. In the lobby, two employees were sitting next to the fireplace, WITHOUT MASKS. They were pleasant enough and welcomed me in. As I stood there and looked around, not one person in the store was wearing a mask, customers or employees. I immediately turned around and left, telling the guy at the fireplace that I would order online (from Amazon now). How tough is it to understand that if you don't want the government to tell you to stay home and have businesses close again, that you have to exercise some personal responsibility. read more

There is such a huge selection of outdoor gear in here, and if you love fishing, BPS is heaven! However, if you're fishing for a reasonable every-day price on most gear at Bass Pro Shop, you'll likely have few strikes. I shopped Amazon, Academy, & R.E.I. over the past week before making my first visit here - I compared at least a dozen different identical items (mostly on camping and hiking gear), and Outdoor World was more expensive - 75% more in some cases. If you want a good deal at BPS, then you'll have wait until what you want goes on sale, or go somewhere else to get it cheaper. I was able to find the trout net I needed - on sale, 25% off, which brought it down to the same price as I would have had to pay to get the same exact net through Amazon. Meanwhile, Academy didn't have a single trout net in stock and carry only cheap fly gear (and not much of it), though Bass Pro Shop has an entire fly fishing shop inside. I went in and quickly walked around inside the "Fish Bowl". Now this place is AWESOME! There's a bar, food, and BOWLING?! Okay! I'll be back with the entire family! read more

This is just a review for the restaurant, Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl. We went for lunch thinking it'd be a cool experience for the kids. And the decor really is quite cool -- lots of interesting fish, a sunken submarine, etc. to look at. I'd put the food at a notch below Red Lobster level. Not a tremendous variety, especially when it comes to fish/seafood. Your choices are pretty much fried stuff, burgers, etc. I ordered the fish tacos, which were decent, but the mango salsa seemed a little past its peak freshness, and my side salad looked tired, too. For the price, I'd probably choose somewhere else to go to eat. But I will probably return for bowling. read more

The outstanding, friendly, and informative service I received from Lauren on archery was phenomenal! I went in to Bass Pro wanting to pick up archery as a new hobby. I had already purchased a bow online but was unsure what else to pair it with and get to make my archery set complete. Lauren provided me some of the best service I have ever received and left the store somehow being more excited than I already was to begin my hobby of archery. Lauren educated me all about the bows, arrows, accessories, some history on Fred Bear, and if that wasn't already exceeding all expectations, she gave me great pointers of what to focus on when starting archery and a place to go in the community to really get introduced into the sport. I have told multiple friends and family about my experience I had with Lauren and this review can't even explain how grateful I am for that experience of having her help me out! The website said opens at 9am. Arrived 9:10am. Door says open 10am. I knocked on door and was ignored even though they know they made a mistake. They had a chance to redeem themselves, but chose to treat me like crap. All I had to do is return and pick up one item, 5 mins tops. Now I have to leave and come back another day!!! So my review here is going to be a bit biased when comparing this store to the Cabelas down south or the big bass pro shop in Missouri. This store seems a bit small for how huge it looks from the out side. I would imagine that's because it has a boat show room inside. Well that's on the north east side of the store. All the way on the other side of the store they had what appeared to be an underwater themed bowling ally and eatery. In the middle there was Fishing, hunting, camping, hunting, killing and more. A whole shoe store sized shoe section so you can get crocs in 12 types of cammo. The taxidermy in the place was quite nice, lots of mounts set up in life like fashion. More often than not it was something trying to kill something else. The back wall has a nice big aquarium were you can see lots of local texas fish. Its a tiny tank compared to some of the other stores, but it still has a nice display. One section I found interesting was the candles section. They had bees wax, regular, super scented, bug repelling and I even found one that smelled exactly like an old musty cigar. It was called Old tobacco I think. Right on the money for walking into your old uncles man cave. There was also a small indoor archery range. I kind of wanted to check that out, but we were running out of time. I ordered a gun online and received confirmation via email that it was as ready to pick up at the store. It was not at the store. The clerk told me if I have not received the 2nd e-mail than it was not at the store?? This was after i waited in line for almost 1 hr. I called the store today and was told the gun was in store ready to be picked up. Again, I have waited 90 minutes and I am still in line.Wtf? Will never shop here again. Love this place because of the interior but I don't like the selection here. It's actually pretty small and over priced for some items like boots and clothing which you can get the same thing cheaper online or else where. Overall the store is quite and experience to behold!
