BUT when I walk in and pay 4.79 for one donut, I expect not to be treated like I am garbage, I asked for 3 fritters and asked if I could have them from the tray on the bottom. she told me they are all the same in a very snotty way, I agree they probably are but I wanted the ones on that bottom tray, she was an older woman and rude, I have heard this from many people over the years but never had it happen to me. First time eating lunch at the bakery. Tuna sandwich was surprisingly HUGE. I ate half and took the other half home. Stuffed with 2 thick slices of tomato and lots of slices of lettuce. Fridas is both a great cafe and a great bakery/ and that's a good combination for enjoying your food, having some food to go and racking up a bill larger than you expected, but happy you did. Oh so good! Excellent food. I had the organic chicken wrap. It is served hot & very delicious, topped off with a cappuccino. They have an amazing selection of desserts that are absolutely excellent! Walk into the bakery and there is a very long showcase starting with beautiful decorated cakes as you make your way down to the pastries and see the menu. I eat out a lot. Mostly business related. I also bring food to staff and clients. I've eaten here and its been requested for take out many times. The soups are made daily and the variety is outstanding. Sandwiches out of this world. And finally, the desserts are next level cakes and cookies. If you're ever in Largo FL this place is the spot. Was looking for a king cake for Mardi Gras. Didn't want the usual Publix offerings because it's boring AF. FB suggested Fridas. I've never been here before. I drove over and bought a king cake for $20 something dollars which I thought was a bit expensive, but I'll try anything once. This was by far, the best king cake I've ever had. They have a vast selection of pastries and sandwiches to suit all sorts of eaters, and all meal orders come with a tasty cake sample. While I'm not a huge fan of the baked goods, I enjoy the donuts and the blueberry scones. I buy a lot of their speciality baked goods for gifts, but haven't really tried them. They are beautiful. The cakes are very spongy and their whipped cream, always taste stale even when it's freshly made. If you're used to having a French pastries, this is not a place for you if you're used to Winn-Dixie day old then you might enjoy their rendition of a fruit tart what they think is a tiramisu. Service it's hit or miss in the band. Please are so darling and sweet others have no reason working ground of house. It's obvious that the training is inconsistent. I'm not sure what the appeal is? I'm assuming there's a test but there were people inside eating. But then again I was in there eating so I can't say that they were enjoying it. I wish I came to Frida's earlier in my trip - I wasted two breakfasts on mediocre hotel food when I could have been eating my way through those stunning bakery cases! I'm glad I ordered online because had I ordered in person I wouldn't have been able to decide- everything looks amazing and what I did get proves the flavor matches the look. The guava turnover was flaky, the nice crunch from the finishing sugar, and generously filled with guava paste. The guava cheese danish was buttery but not overly sweet and filled just right to balance the pastry with the filling. The Boston cream donut was a delightful cake donut that wasn't too sweet and a cream filling that was slightly sweet and eggy and just perfect- as well as heavy! I also got a sausage, egg and cheese panini which is served as an adorable little round and just the perfect breakfast bite. Real, gooey cheddar with a perfectly cooked hard egg and well seasoned sausage patty. I love the mix of European, Hispanic, Italian, and standard American pastries. There's something for everyone, and some really unique things you don't find everywhere!
