Every staff member I met was friendly, kind, and full of good energy--especially comforting during the surgery when I felt some apprehension. The follow-up visit was just as thoughtful and easy. On top of that, the procedure was more affordable than quotes I'd received on the mainland, and they didn't tack on any crazy emergency fees. I went to Yoneda in person and the receptionist was franky unfriendly. I signed the form and hope they sent the records to my new dentist. Pity as they were so friendly and helpful until they were out of network for me.

The 1-star rating is for the very rude, unprofessional, very "catty" like attitude that Elysa the front receptionist gave me over the phone (3 separate times about different occasions over a few months total) and the face to face communication and interactions I had with her in the office, as well. I do not take my time to write 1-star reviews ever so this really upset me as I come from a customer service background myself and know the power that attitude, friendliness, kindness and appreciation really means to people when it comes to service. She does not seem happy to be working and does not seem to care about customer service kindness and friendly attitude. She honestly doesn't seem to care at all. Not sure how she is allowed to talk to people like that but even while sitting in the office lobby and listening to how she speaks to other people over the phone and checking them in in-person, she has this attitude towards everyone. She is the reason I chose to take my insurance elsewhere to find a dentist where I feel appreciated and spoken to kindly by all the staff. Kamalei the dental assistant is amazing, so kind, caring, knowledgeable and friendly and represents what all customer service workers should entail, which would most importantly be the type of attitude you would want with the front receptionist and person answering all your office's phone calls to bring you more business. Dr Strawn at Maui Jaw is an EXCELLENT surgeon! I decided to fly to Maui for Tori removal surgery…read morebecause of Dr Strawn's expertise compared to the many offices I called and visited on Oahu. The office staff was terrific and all the surgical assistants were great, efficient, and caring. Dr Strawn is really hi-tech and her office was first class! For example: 3D Xray Scan was super detailed and was able to plan my surgery. She uses PRF technology (blood draw to create a paste made from my own blood to aid in healing) to pack under the surgical site. She used an IV which administered my ibuprofen, pre-med amoxicillin, and steroid for healing. I opted to not be "put under" but that was an option. The surgery went very well, no pain during and not much bleeding either. No swelling. I am 4 hours post-op. For reference, I have had two sites of Tori removed on Oahu which were pretty horrendous. My face swelled up and the pain was quite severe with lots of bleeding. SO HAPPY I WENT TO THE MAUI JAW THIS TIME!!!

Carter and the team had online and it made me so much more comfortable knowing the level of expertise they provide. Turns out the reviews couldn't be more true and I had an amazing procedure. From the moment I walked in I was greeted with smiles and comfort and very swift service. I sat down in the chair everything was explained in clear detail and they got right to it so I didn't even have time to be very nervous! Dr cater told me that I would feel the medicine hit me and what felt like 5 sec later I was waking up finished! I'm home laying in bed now at 6pm (procedure was at 830 am) and have still experienced very little to no pain without any pain meds and to be honest I can't believe it and I know this is because dr Carter and his team went above and beyond and did an amazing first class skilled removal of my teeth. Hats off to dr Carter and the whole team (I can't remember any of their names I was to sleepy sorry!) if you have to get your wisdom teeth removed and your nervous about it or have been putting it off do yourself a favor and call Maui oral surgery to get it done you will be in amazing hands! Oh and btw the office is super clean and state of the art you even get an amazing view of the island from your dental chair !

You get what you pay for…read more Avoid cheap-ass friends telling you to go to Bangkok, Tijuana or Budapest for quick dental work. This is the place to get titanium dental implants (or teeth removal.) It's worth it if you have at least 1 to 30 years of life left. Do not get a dental bridge. I have spent several hours in Dr. Carter and Rasmussen's chairs. Their team is always professional and courteous. Virtually painless... I'm no model, but the dental implants I have are top quality and keep me chewing.

Dr. Craig is fantastic! I've been a patient at a couple of other offices and had horrible experiences there. Dr. Craig has always made us comfortable. This is usually difficult in a dentistry setting. When I need more than just a cleaning (such as crowns, fillings, etc.), he provides me with options and never tries to upsell me. If you want a knowledgeable, friendly and honest dentist, make an appt to see Dr. Craig.

Paia Family Dental. OMG...where do I start? I checked out dental providers on United Health Care's…read morewebsite. I talked to friends. I settled on Dr. Aragaki at Paia Family Dental. I called and made an appointment for a check up and cleaning probably back in April or May. My appointment was June 5. I later heard through the grapevine that Dr. Aragaki was retiring, and the office was closed for remodeling. I called the office prior to my appointment to find out if this was true. I was told a new dentist took over, and that they accepted and were in network with United. I called before my checkup to ask about parking. I was told I could not park in their gated parking lot because there is only 1 space available. When I got there, there was an empty parking stall, and an empty handicapped parking stall (I have a placard). Instead, I had to find parking on the street. I filled out all their forms on a tablet, and gave them copies of my insurance card. Once I was taken in, the assistants proceeded to take xrays, but instead of doing bitewings and a panoramic, they insisted on doing bitewings of each tooth. I have a small mouth, and bitewings are painful and challenging. I told them I did not want to do that. They said the dentist had to approve a panoramic, which he would not do. Dentist finally came in and told me I had a cavity under a crown, and I needed to see an endodontist for another problem. I had seen my previous dentist (Kanamori who is awesome) 8 months before, and at that time there were no issues. Then I was told that there is not enough time for them to do a cleaning, even though I was on the schedule for one. I was rescheduled for July 9 (a month later). The day of my appointment, they called and canceled. They then rescheduled me for July 31st (another month later). United's website now says that I owe $276 to Spader, because he is not "in network". I booked an appointment with Dr. Aragaki. Dr. Aragaki retired, or sold the practice without telling me. Spader's office said (and they still say) they are in network with United. United says they are not. This whole experience has been a nightmare from start to finish. Update. I have called Dr. Spader's office three times. My cleaning (which has been scheduled 3 times) is scheduled for Friday, July 31st. Each time I have called and asked if they are "in-network" with United Health Care, I have been put on hold, with no one coming back on the phone. I tried sending them a text with no response. I sent a message via their website with no response. I just called them a fourth time and was told that they canceled my cleaning (for the third time) because they saw my post on Nextdoor. They did not even have the courtesy to let me know.
