I'm a long time patient way back when Dr Snow had the practice. Both Dr Hollander and Dr Roberts are wonderful. I've seen Dr Roberts for everything from dental implants to cosmetic work. She is caring and I couldn't be happier. The entire staff are a pleasure to work with. The Kihei location is convenient and the office was updated. I cannot thank Dr. Hollander and his staff enough for the "emergency" appointment they were able to get me while I was vacationing on my honeymoon! I had called around at exactly 8 AM to another dentist's office which referred me to Kai Dental because they weren't accepting new patients. I had called at like 8:07 AM to Kai Dental and was able to get an appointment at 11:00 AM THE SAME DAY! To give some context, I had been experiencing very mild tooth pain for a couple of weeks - I had chalked it up to sweets and a possible cavity but the pain would come and go. I was also in the midst of getting married and kept telling myself I didn't have time to get it checked out. Fast forward to of course the first 2-days of our honeymoon, and my tooth (and like surrounding 3 teeth) were absolutely killing me - like a lot of pain, not just with hot/cold foods, but everything! My whole mouth was aching so badly. When I had called to make an appointment, I looked at the reviews and had felt confident based on the referral from another top-rated dentist's office. The receptionist was pleasant and quick with getting me into their office the same day I had called - I remember her placing me on hold to I what I would assume consulting with an assistant or the doctor to ensure I was seen in a timely manner if it was urgent. Upon arrival, the office is upstairs in the back of the building (NOTE: there is another dentist's office downstairs that reads "DENTISTRY" in a beautiful stained glass, but it's not that one - they were nice enough to point me in the correct direction though). Once inside, the receptionist took mine and my husband's temperature for COVID measures, and checked me in. I was about 10-minutes early, however, I don't think I waited even 5-minutes in the waiting room before I was in the dental chair. Once in the dentist's chair, I had a dental assistant, Jillian, who was absolutely fabulous! She was super professional - asking me where the pain was, how often, when did it start, etc. - she was also super personable, asking me about my honeymoon, telling me how she wound up living/working in Maui, etc. - such a refreshing and calming experience. She took a couple of quick x-rays of my mouth and said the doctor would be in in a few minutes. Not even another 5-minutes in the chair and I was happily greeted by Dr. Hollander. He was also super sweet, asking me about my honeymoon, what brought me in, etc. He had me do a bite and temperature test, and ultimately landed on what I think he called like "stress-induced teeth grinding", and recommended a retainer. He was not pushy at all and gave me a big-box store solution of getting a retainer and molding it myself, or getting a custom clear retainer from their office, and having it done by the following day for $215 after insurance and fees. I wound up going with the custom retainer and Jillian was back to take my "mouth measurements" as I would call them. This was a super non-invasive 3D scanner type probe that she took of my mouth and basically saw it "printing" on the screen. I was in and out of my appointment within 45-minutes which I was super relieved about! They had asked that I come back after like 3 PM the following day to pick up my retainer, and that it would be another like 5-minute appointment. I showed up at 2:55 PM the following day, received my retainer, Dr. Hollander did another bite test to ensure it fit correctly, gave me care instructions, a bamboo toothbrush, retainer case, and Efferdent to clean the retainer, and I was on my way at about 3 PM! I apologize for not getting all of the dentist terms correctly in my review but what I did get correct was going to this office for my mini-emergency need. It's been a little over a week since and I've had no issues. I cannot thank Dr. Hollander, Jillian, and his staff enough for their professionalism and overall pleasant experience with their office. If you're ever in a situation where you need immediate assistance with a dentistry issue, I cannot recommend their office enough! read more

This is my second review of this dental practice. I have to say I have never left the dentist feeling so clean and fresh from the cleaning they did. Chrissy was amazing very friendly and outgoing. Overall another great experience at the dentist cannot recommend these guys enough. I also got the chance to meet Dr. Hollander. Great guy. This was my first time at Kai Dental and Dr. Roberts provided my care. She is knowledgeable, thorough and efficient. Also what a generally nice person and very respectful of her hygienist who was also great. I had a minor emergency and they were able to fit me in the same day. They worked me in with one day notice, did exam, and recommended that the best thing I could do is wait til I get home to deal with a crack and a crown. I have lived on Maui for over ten years and I can finally say that I have found a dentist that I both trust and feel comfortable with! Dr. Norman Snow is kind and caring and highly knowledgable about dental care. The staff in the office is warm and welcoming-- they always greet me with a big smile and aloha. They have wooden toys in the waiting area for my young girls to play and the secretary even held my crying baby while I filled out paperwork. Today is a holiday and I needed an emergency appointment as I fly out tomorrow night and my tooth has been throbbing for a few days now. Many dental offices were closed. I did call a few that were open and wasn't lovin it, (one place that I won't name wanted $300 for a visit and two X rays) My gut has always served me well and I was not comfortable, so I kept calling around and I called Dr Snow's office and felt very taken care of :) and they could fit me in if I could head their way. Absolutely! Irma at the front desk is fantastic! and Dr Snow... you've got yourself a new permanent patient! His assistant who took the Xray was kind and friendly. I had a fracture in a tooth and I need a root canal. For those of you that don't know what it feels like to fly with tooth pain because of the changes in pressure, I will say "don't try it!" Irma helped me out by calling a few places that they refer to for the root canal procedure itself, as it need to be done asap. I never felt rushed or pressured etc and I wasn't price gouged. Dr Snow was on the up and up and pointed out that I can have the post/crown done at my old dentist office as I will be in California for about a month, or he will handle it all when I return home.
