They have organic and gluten free options too. I got 2 cup cakes and they were about $5 each. I'm reviewing the items I got from the farmers market. So may not be the accurate location. I got three things, a chocolate chip cookie, chai cookie, and a brownie. I love the consistency and softness of the cookies. They are fluffy without the taste of it being too doughy. However, I have three stars due to lack of chocolate chips in the chocolate chip cookie. All the chocolate chip cookies I had to choose from looked like they were lacking chocolate chips but I thought maybe they were hidden, and they were, cause they weren't there at all. The cookies had exactly 3 chocolate chips in it, not even kidding. It was more of a sugar cookie than chocolate chip. Which don't get me wrong, it would be an amazing sugar cookie if that's what I wanted. I know they have "healthier" options like paleo and keto, but I got a regular cookie and was disappointed. The brownie I got was more like cake and again, tasted like it was trying to be something healthier. It was definitely good for cake, but not for a brownie. Next time I would try their cupcakes as that is what they are known for. If you want a traditional cookie or brownie I would go somewhere else. read more

I'm so disappointed. Batch used to have the most amazing paleo treats. They had a paleo chocolate cupcake that was the best chocolate cupcake I had ever had. A few months ago I bought their Paleo chocolate mint cookies which in the past were so so good. They were different than before and disappointing, taste and texture just wrong. Today I went in for a chocolate cupcake to celebrate my birthday. The icing used to be delicious ganache. Now it's thin and sickly sweet. The cupcake used to be light and so flavorful. I wish I could recommend this place because the actual aesthetics of it are great. It is exactly the kind of place you would want to come hang out. The best thing I can say about the cupcakes is they use really great frosting we bought for different flavors so they can't say it was a bad batch. Each one of them was Grainy, dry and not with a great flavor. We ended up throwing out the bottoms and just eating the frosting. It was an expensive exercise. We did not get any of the specialty vegan, gluten-free or Paleo. We got the regular ones, but I do not recommend them. There is no spongy quality or moistness to these cupcakes. We stopped by after eating at another establishment. There was a young man working who didn't seem to like his job. I chose four different cupcakes and my husband chose a chocolate chip cookie. My chocolate cupcake had a funny taste , not quite sure what it was. I also chose a cupcake with blueberry filling and one with raspberry. The fruit filling was minuscule. . . Less than a teaspoon. The shop was cute, but they were the worst cupcakes I've ever had. We got two filled flavors (blueberry and apple), a chocolate, and a cookie dough. The "filled" cupcakes had the most pitiful amount of fruit filling in the center of the icing - it did not go down into the cupcake at all. The cookie dough cupcake was literally a vanilla cupcake with a quarter of a chocolate chip cookie on top of the (also vanilla) icing. They were all bland and dry. So dry it would've been appropriate to make a crouton. I've had better cupcakes from Walmart. Not worth the $24 for six cupcakes. read more

So quiet, no interaction at all. The gentlemen working stared us down from the back part of the store. The female cashier rang us up and was sure to point out the tip I could leave her, even though there was very little she actually did. Customer service is not what it used to be. Maybe 50-60% of the actual cupcake had frosting and barely any when it was applied. I came to Batch to pick up a couple of cupcakes for me and my husband! They had a nice variety of chocolatey flavors and more fruity flavors. They also have several gluten free and vegan options which is nice for people with dietary restrictions that still want to enjoy a cupcake. There are also other treats besides cupcakes like cake pops and cookies. They do have some tables and chairs to sit at inside plus patio tables outside for warmer weather. I was greeted promptly upon my arrival and the lady working gave me some recommendations when I was torn between a few different flavors. This time I got the Apple Streusel and The Beach! Check out my photos for a description of each flavor. I liked the frosting on each but the flavors weren't as rich as I expected and the cake was too dry. The Beach was not as dry as the Apple Streusel one, so I'd say The Beach was my favorite between these two. I've had cupcakes from another place in Reno that were delicious, very moist, and you could tell they were homemade with love and care. So when comparing these to those cupcakes, I think these only earn 3 stars. I have had cookies from here before and did really like the snickerdoodle flavor. However, their logo is a cupcake and so I think that is the item that should be perfected here and sadly it did not meet my expectations. read more

I thought that this was a keto bakery, it's NOT, so us keto folks need to skip this one. It had GF offerings but I still got a whole day long stomach ache from it. TBH it wouldn't be all that hard to make their gf offerings keto-I don't get it. I did buy the only "keto" item-peanut butter cups-skip they are awful-dry, no sweetener used at all, and I don't like my stuff all that sweet anymore. I ordered cupcakes for my little ones birthday. I had ordered two dozen which totaled around $100. When I entered the store, there were two women talking, one behind the counter who I assumed was the owner and a customer. Neither of them acknowledged me. Like not even a "Hi" or "I'll be with you in a minute" or anything. It was so painfully awkward. There was a very condescending exchange by the owner to her employee who was near tears and very flustered. I was embarrassed for her and gave her a tip because I felt sorry for her. I paid and only to be called shortly after I was almost home. I had only been given half of my order. I turned around, returned to the store and picked up the rest of the cupcakes. At that time, I was not offered any compensation for the inconvenience. I'm sure they get huge orders and $100 is probably not much for them. Maybe even just offer a coffee or a cookie or something? It sounds silly, but it would've made the experience a little better. The worst part? Cupcakes weren't even good, super dry, tasted like cornbread and nothing special. we haven't been back and don't plan to. such a bummer and I don't understand how they are so popular. read more

Went to Batch, Saturday, April 17th at 10:45am, during my Reno visit and was disappointed in the customer service. My experience was ruined by the lack of gluten free products and underwhelming service by the female at the register. Because of my food restrictions, I cannot have chocolate or gluten, I asked her if she could recommend gluten-free cookies and she said, "whatever is gluten-free will be labeled." I proceeded to ask about the pumpkin sandwich cookies, "is the filling chocolate or hazelnut?" She said, "chocolate!" Okay what about the cupcakes, she pointed to the small selection of chocolate gluten-free cupcakes. My friend was nice enough to take the drive from Spanish Springs to Midtown for me to try Batch, and this employee didn't even step out from the back of the counter to offer any advice or assistance. As we were leaving, I noticed the fridge had gluten-free strawberry macarons and pineapple cashew Paleo bars. We purchased cupcakes for my friend and the two items for me. My friend asked if she could have a bag and the employee said, "we don't have bags for the cupcake tray." Well how about for the two items?! No receipt was rendered or offered, no thank you for shopping with us, and no, "have a nice day!" It would have been better to have a machine, or robot at the register because this employee had zero interpersonal skills and wasn't pleasant what so ever. read more

We recently moved into a home near Batch Cupcakery. As cake lovers, we decided to check it out right away! We went with the kids and grandparents, and selected cupcakes for after dinner. They were beautiful, but so disappointing... for such expensive and attractive cupcakes, they were extremely dry, and just not very good. Fast forward a few months, and I am having a great deal of trouble finding a bakery in Reno that will make a lemon flavored cake for my son's 8th birthday. This is my son's favorite flavor. I decided to give Batch Cupcakery a second chance. I like to support local businesses, it's a convenient pickup on party day, and they do a lemon flavored cake. I went in to order a cake for 20ish people, I chose the 10" round, and gave the details... It's $200! Whoa, I've bought full sheet cakes for less, so I go with the 8" instead. The cake looked nice when I went to get it. They won't write a message on it for you, but it was frosted with a beautiful blue color. At the party, however, I had an incredibly difficult time slicing it, as there was a very tough crust on the outer cake beneath the frosting. Even my sharp knife couldn't pierce it without squashing the cake below. Then it was served to the guests, and my daughter shouted out, "Mom this isn't cake, it's cornbread!" The cake didn't taste like lemon at all, and it did taste exactly like dense cornbread. What's worse, the fruit filling wasn't present within the slices, as it had gathered in the center at the bottom and didn't cling to the dense slices at all. Nobody liked the cake. Clearing the party table, I just threw away piece after piece of cake with only a polite bite or two eaten. It was really embarrassing, and I was so sad to have disappointed my little son. To be clear, I ordered a normal birthday cake, nothing vegan or gluten free. I used to manage a business, and I know how important it is to receive feedback about your products, so that you can do better next time. I called Batch Cupcakery the next day, and left a polite message asking for the manager to call me. The girl asked what about, and I said briefly that we had a cake the previous day that wasn't great. An hour later, the same girl called me back to say that the manager would not be calling me, that she only does personal calls for orders or questions, and that I'd need to submit my feedback via their online inquiry form. I was pretty offended by this, and explained that I had wanted to deliver private feedback, but that if I was going to take the time to write about my experience that I would post it publicly, and that I would appreciate a call back instead. Needless to say, they didn't call me. Not only have I had an expensive disappointment here two times, but it's pretty clear that this business doesn't value its customers very highly if they can't take two minutes to hear about my bad experience. They packaged up the cupcakes in lovely boxes with a peacock feather design bow. Nice touch. The price of these was quite high but I ordered five and the girl kindly noted I could get a half dozen for the same price. Six cupcakes cost almost $20.
