A gluten free chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream.

Leigh Anne and her team have brought us joy and delight once again! My daughter's first birthday was a hit thanks in part to these delicious cakes. Leigh Anne can take an idea and make it her own and she's such a sweetheart to work with. She also navigates allergies and explains everything she uses to make her cakes. Always highly recommended and we can't wait to reach out again!

I came to Delicious Designs with a bit of a funky ask: to hold a cake tasting like you would normally do for a wedding, but instead for my mother-in-law's birthday. Not only were they more than willing to work with me in setting this up, but they wholeheartedly embraced the concept. Leigh Anne met us on the day of and took care of everything, making it a truly special event. We will absolutely be coming back here for any of our bakery needs, especially because the cake was so good!

The not so amazing Davis fire

I've been wanting to try a cake from here for a long time. I honestly feel Reno doesn't have the best cake options so when I heard about this highly rated location I knew I had to try it. The ordering process was smooth and pick up was a breeze. The cake looked amazing. I took it home that fateful Saturday morning and we sliced it that afternoon. While we were enjoying the delicious chocolate cake with raspberry filling I smelled something cooking. I looked outside and said "oh lord Jesus it's a fire!" The Davis fire in south Reno had just started and was growing fast. We all got alerts on our phones to evacuate and we started packing in a hurry. By the time we had some valuables and luggage ready to go the police were at the door telling us to head out. Well on the way out I saw the cake. Ladies and gentlemen, I am here to tell you that I decided that no cake this good should be left behind. We grabbed the cake and headed to a friend's house. The friends were happy enough to see us but even more happy that we brought the cake. This was the 8 inch cake and it was more than enough for two families to enjoy. Highly recommend.

Beautiful table cake in wedding colors.

All persons in the shop were helpful, from initial talk to tasting to day of the event. The cake was fantastic. So many raves from our guests.

From beginning to end, Delicious Designs was very professional. We had an issue with another bakery in the area but once we started working with Delicious designs, all of our worries went out the window. They made everything so easy!! I am vegan so I wanted a vegan wedding cake and regular cupcakes on the side. Everyone RAVED about the cake and had no idea that it was vegan. We did a marble cake with vegan buttercream frosting. I'm drooling just thinking about it! I might even get cookies shipped to me in San Diego because it was that good. They even delivered the cake and cupcakes to use from Reno to South Lake Tahoe. 10/10 I would tell everyone that's getting married in Reno or Lake Tahoe to work with this company.

Loved this place, and loved these ladies passionate support in helping me create my proposal cake. The cake was a special order on short notice and they did everything to ensure it was perfect and on time, not to mention delicious! Thank you, thank you...and the answer was...Yes!

Talk about bomb dot com! I had the pleasure of meeting Leigh Anne during an event that I was working and decided to give her a call to do a tasting for my own wedding coming up. First of all, our tasting was complimentary! That was already an awesome start. Walking into the shop we already had a good feeling. It's a local bakery, and the cakes really are made with love! We tried about 8 flavors or so and they were so delicious. We ended up picking raspberry champagne for our cutting cake and got 4 different flavors for cupcakes for our guests. They also have both vegan and gluten free options! We also got to keep all the extra cake from our tasting that we didn't finish, and it was still good the next 2 days! Leigh Anne is literally an angel. Super sweet (both her personality and her cakes). It was an easy no brainer decision to pick her for our big day. Very reasonable prices, and she delivers. Can't wait for our big day. Thanks delicious designs!!

Leigh was such a sweetheart ! The cake for our wedding was better than I could have even imagined. It was stunning tasted so good ! We also did cake pops and cookies and everyone could not stop talking about them ! She was so kind & easy to work with. She even made a suggestion for our son to have his own personalized cupcake. . She sent a personalized thank you card and gift as well. She really goes out of her way and it did not go un noticed. He felt so special and so did we. Thank you so much for all your help in making our wedding so perfect for us. We appreciate you

So amazing! We dropped the ball on ordering a custom mermaid cake for our daughter's 5th birthday party, and found ourselves frantically calling around to every bakery in town only a week before the occasion. Luckily, Delicious Designs was able to accommodate on such a short notice! From start to finish, my interaction with Leigh Ann was super pleasant! She was professional and thorough, but also so sweet and understanding about our last-minute needs. The price was totally reasonable too! When I saw the cake, I was floored! Great detail and beautiful designs. It was gorgeous and exactly what we wanted for our little girl's special day! Finally, the cake itself was delicious - dense and moist and super flavorful. It was such a hit and everyone enjoyed it. Thank you for a great experience and for accommodating us! We will always keep this place in mind for future parties - though we promise to give more notice next time! :-P

Leigh Anne did our gender reveal cake and my Mom's birthday cake. She is amazing!!! She is so friendly and helpful with coming up with great designs! Not to mention the cakes are delicious!!! I will be going to her for every special occasion!

We booked Delicious Designs to make our wedding cake in October 2023. The owner of Delicious Designs, Leigh Anne, and her team are so amazing to work with and extremely talented! You can't go wrong when you choose them! They were so helpful from the minute we booked them. First, we had a tasting shortly after booking, and the cake flavors are to die for!!! During the tasting, Leigh Anne worked with us to pick a cake size that stayed within our budget but was also able to feed all our guests. Her input was so helpful! During the tasting, as hard as it was to choose flavors, we went with Berry Champagne for one tier and Lemon Lovers for the other--highly recommended, especially the Berry Champagne! It's amazing! As we got close to the wedding, I decided to add some desserts, including macrons purchased through Delicious Designs(so good) and chocolate chip cookies. What I really appreciated is that Leigh Anne helped me decide how many to order, to make sure I wasn't breaking the bank. We cut back on cake in order to have more cookies and we had the perfect amount! If she hadn't made suggestions, we would have spent way more than needed. On the day of the wedding, she worked great with our florist to decorate the cake. When I saw it, I was in awe that a cake could be so beautiful. It was the most beautiful cake I had ever seen. Guests loved both the look and the taste! We had so many comments and the cookies were also a hit! Additionally, since my husband had to leave the tasting early to get to a 49-er game(lol, diehard 49er's fan), Leigh Anne had the great idea to surprise him with a box of hand-decorated 49er cookies on his place setting the day of the wedding. He absolutely loved them. He didn't want to eat them at first because of how great the design was, but the minute he bit into one, he couldn't stop! The cookies were so thoughtful of Leigh Anne and I felt like she really got to know us as a couple. This was truly one of our favorite vendors to work with! You cannot find a better baker for your wedding than Delicious Designs! If you book them, you will not regret it!

I had to provide another update now that I got photos back from the photographer AND my guests haven't stopped talking about the desserts. I feel like it's rare to have cake that looks beautiful AND is delicious, but Delicious Designs has figured it out. For my wedding, we ordered a 2 tier cake (top tier was funfetti and bottom was lemon), cookies and churro cake pops (the owner created those especially for me because churros are my favorite!). The cookies were gone before dinner was even served. The cake pops were phenomenal. And the cake tasted great that night and for breakfast the next day ha. I super appreciate how flexible, creative and kind the team was during the decision making, ordering and delivery process.

The Minced Pork Dumplings, however, were not for us. I believe the flavor of the Chinese leek may have been what turned us off. As for the Napoleon, it wasn't very sweet or particularly flavorful, and it made quite a mess to eat. Not something I'd reorder. The Sui Mai was delicious, and I would definitely order it again. This was the winner of our take home feast. While not everything was a hit for us, we'd return for the Sui Mai and BBQ Pork Buns and other explore some other items that we have yet to try.

The ambiance here is perfectly upscale and accessible. The decor is very chic, and their outdoor patio space is very nice. YELP REVIEW PROMPT…read more Checked on Yelp for a dessert spot that I haven't tried before. Sierra Nevada Creamery and Bakery was a quick four minute walk from our lunch spot so we thought why not! It's located right next to the Pioneer Center for Performing Arts and has a very small parking area. There are restaurants on either side so there is also street parking. It was a warm day so I decided on a double scoop in a cup, one pistachio and one sea salt caramel. The double scoop was huge, definitely no skimping and only $10. There was one person ahead of us and then tons of people piled in after we did so we got there at a really good time! There was only employee working (I think he may have been the owner). I felt so bad because it was just him and he had a line almost out the door but if he was stressed he did not show it. He was friendly and so professional. The inside is pretty small but there some places to sit and if the inside is full the grass area right outside isn't a bad place to enjoy your treats. I would recommend for sure and I definitely want to go back and try a chocolate chip cookie. Things to note: Read his story on the ice cream menu. I was surprised to see this place as I've driven by this strip of businesses many times and never noticed this particular spot. They offer homemade treats, but mostly ice cream. They have an almost unmatched selection of non-dairy ice creams and sorbets. A nice surprise. The gentleman helping us was very nice and gave us a full rundown of how they make everything in house. He offered samples and suggestions. I sampled the flavor of the week, Lavender Honey Matcha, and the coconut cream coffee. My kids decided on the mango sorbet and the classic strawberry. Everything was delicious. The coconut cream ice cream had great flavor and texture given that it was non dairy. My wife and I decided on the matcha flavor of the week. It was very refreshing. The strawberry had real chunks of strawberry which is always a treat. My biggest critique is the texture of the ice cream. This stuff seemed very crumbly. I prefer a much more "chewy" or "sticky" ice cream if that makes sense. This stuff was more "dry" and less "creamy". There are some other local shops in the area that make great ice cream exactly how I like it, which is the only reason for 4 stars. I'm not sure this would be my top place for ice cream again. The smallest "one scoop" size is actually nearly two full scoops. Could be a good thing for some, but a kids scoop is always appreciated for my toddlers, especially a a slightly discounted price. That is not an option here. There are a few small tables inside to enjoy your treats and lots of to-go options which is always nice. The place was clean and well decorated. It was steadily busy while we visited, indicating that this place is likely here to stay. Overall, worth stopping in if you're in the area. The flavors are unique and tasty and the non-dairy selection is fantastic.

I love watching the people and cars go by in Midtown while enjoying a great meal. We started with drinks. I ordered the Limoncello Spritz, and wow--it was absolutely out of this world! Instead of being buttery like many California Chardonnays, it's slightly sweeter and very smooth. After trying my cocktail, my husband decided to order a Limoncello Spritz too, and he ended up enjoying it even more than the wine. We skipped the appetizers and salads and went straight to the main event. I ordered the mushroom ravioli, which I had been dreaming about all day. It was light, delicate, and packed with incredible flavor. My husband, who is from New Zealand, chose the lamb chops. They were cooked to perfection, so tender you could cut them with a butter knife. He paired them with the asparagus risotto, which was delicious but a little heavy alongside the lamb. We ended up taking some home, and next time I'd recommend pairing the lamb with a salad instead. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and I would definitely come back just for the salad. I'm not sure if the gentleman helping us was the owner, but he was incredibly kind and welcoming. He even offered water and a treat for my friend's dog, which was such a thoughtful gesture. His hospitality really made our visit even more enjoyable. Overall, a wonderful experience, and I look forward to coming back!

The flavor was tasty though. My husband loved his shrimp tacos. I ordered desserts to go with I'm hoping they are great ! I'll let you know. Ok so here is the final review on the bakery side. We took five different slices of cake and two almond berry cream cups to some friends house for after dinner. They were not impressed. And we tried a bit of each one. I thought the almond cup with fruit had Bavarian cream it was just whipping cream of some sort. So that was disappointing. Then the host, the Husband, after asking what he thought he said an impressive. And it seemed like the cakes were a bit dry. The cheesecake with strawberries on top had an interesting texture. They looked pretty, but the taste was uneventful. So I think I will probably stick to some of the other bakeries in town. They do have fresh breads, though if you're looking for a nice roll or something like that. i'm giving three stars due to the lunch we have. As for the desserts it would've been a two star.

Our first trip to Wheatberry was a success! We were so excited to learn there is a new bakery and…read moreweekend breakfast shop in southeast Reno and our taste buds weren't disappointed. They had all the wonderful pastries you can imagine and although they were good size, they had a lighter texture to them, which I really appreciated and you could tell they were made with care and quality ingredients. They had a berry Brulé pastry that I think was one of the favorites, although I always tend to lean towards the bear claws and almond croissant. The almond croissant was a yummy buttery almond flavor but was just a bit over browned on the edges for my taste. The bear claw was soft and tasty. It also had apples in it, which made it sort of a mix of a bear claw apple fritter, but was tasty all the same. We also got one of the blueberry cheese danishes that was very good as well and the morning bun -- this was a good size cinnamon roll sugared treat that was so soft and amazing! I would have to say I would go straight for this next time. We also tried two espresso drinks- a latte and a mocha and both were excellent! Looking further at the menu- I see that they have several lunch entrees, quiches and breakfast sandwiches all for very affordable pricing. AND- homemade cakes! that I will be trying in the future for some family birthdays, which I am so happy to see that someone in the area is making fresh homemade cakes near us. If you haven't tried wheatberry out, I highly suggest suggest it - their fresh ingredients and homemade quality will win you over for sure and this bakery is a much needed Welcome addition to our Neighbourhood!

I bought 2 cupcakes and 2 cookies to go. Cost was $14 so on par which prices around town. My friend enjoyed her cookies on the way home. I later tried the biscoff cupcake that was in the sense of the dense batter, small filing (not too much), a little much frosting for me but looked very nice presentation wise.
