The views of the Statue of Liberty (makes me wanna get a new phone, lol) and the Brooklyn Bridge were stunning. The buffet was a hodge podge of items and didn't really make a lot of sense. I purchased the city pass for and was one of the items included. I would highly recommend to call before you travel there as you don't need a reservation with the pass. I arrived for the 12pm trip and was informed it was cancelled when I arrived at 1120am. I took one star off for this. It was a little frustrating so I'm trying to save you that same frustration. I ended up taking the 215pm one. The cruise itself is really nice, the Jamaican tour guide ( I don't recall her name, but that's how she referred herself at the end) was really great. She explained everything from the buildings, bridges, Ellis island and the Statue of Liberty. You get a really good photo opportunity of the Statue of Liberty. A recommendation would include getting on the top floor of the ship and standing on the right side. Everything is explained from that side so you will have the best front row view of everything. The trip itself is 90 minutes and it flew by. Bring a jacket with you as it's very windy on the ship. I'd also say to bring some water because you may get thirsty. They sell beverages on the ship but I did not purchase any. If you are going to tip the tour guide make sure to have cash, when you exit the ship they will be there with a bucket for your tips. They also take a photo of you with the Brooklyn bridge behind you, you can get a good view or even better with your own phone from the ship. Just something to consider as well! The ship was a bit rocky so if you get seasick take some pills before hand. read more

Very outdated on the inside. They seem to run a pretty busy shift but I may try a vessel that is more aesthetically pleasing. The scenery was beautiful. The ride was very wavy and made me feel as if I was going to be sick. There are 3 levels so there are plenty places to sit. Getting off the ship was so crowded and the ramp was kind of scary because it looked like it was going to give way. It could be the extended use of it. All in all, it was a nice part of the tour but I would not return to this particular vessel. I may try another ship just to see if they all look and feel as abused as this one does. read more

This was definitely the way to see the Statue of Liberty. My husband and I had never been to NYC and we were only going to be there for one day (December 1) and we wanted to see the SoL but we'd heard it can take up half the day with the riding the ferry back and forth and going through security a few times, and walking all over the place, also I can't walk very far so it seemed like a bit much.... so this seemed more "doable" and it was! We were so happy! Nice to be able to sit inside in the warmth and have a beer but be warned they're expensive. But we had a great time and the staff was wonderful. Loved the tour guide's commentary over the PA system. The bathrooms on the boat were a bit gross, but it wasn't a big deal. I'd go again for sure. read more

Wonderful experience with the Bubbles Beats and Brunch. It was a rainy so cruise was not crowded. Once boarded you seated family style table for 10 people. The unlimited mimosas starts the minute you are seated. Very good and strong. There's a Bloody Mary station at the bar, which I didn't try. On the table is basket full delicious donuts with a fresh fruit table with parfait in the middle of the boat. Once the table was full with all parties the chicken and waffles along with a cheese and vegetable frittatas. Everything was so delicious and fresh. Great portion size for everyone to enjoy. The unlimited mimosas was what topped the cruise the most.. amazing The DJ was excellent, great selections of the latest songs to dance to. Overall, great experience. read more

The "Rock The Yacht" was this years excursion to celebrate my 34th Birthday. I'm a big fan of boat rides, and decided this would be a good choice. The boat is fairly priced, two hour boat ride throughout the city. The process of boarding was very easy, go through security, get a boarding pass and take your group and board. The top deck didn't have much space by the time we boarded-- so we made our way downstairs where they have a bunch of tables. Unfortunately, this area wasn't so great for an a group of 14 people; where had to sit at three different tables. However, my friend noticed a back area that was wide open, and perfect accommodation for a larger group. The experience otherwise was about a 3.5, I didn't think the DJ was so great and could have made better choices with music. The bartender was very friendly, however my friend had an issue with the other bartender. He told him they didn't have Ciroc aboard the boat, but my bartender had it, and we purchased several. He did explain it was because it was "premium" and not apart of the unlimited drinks package, which we understood, but didn't have an issue paying for. I believe the other bartender should have at least let that fact be known. Also, they should do a better job of controlling the line-- far too often, I would see people would send someone on the line for liquor, and then proceed "to joining them", once they were almost next up. Not a good idea to mix rudeness and alcohol, it's a bad combination. Lastly, I believe we left about 9:03, but in my estimation came back to the port by 10:45 or 10:50. So, it's a relatively short trip, but we definitely made the best of it. Overall, I did have a great time aboard the boat, but probably would not recommend this Hornblower cruise but would suggest the cruise from Pier 40, instead for a birthday. However, if just for a night out with your mate, this would suffice. read more

What an amazing experience! When you go to the pier, a small desk will hand you a ticket and direct you to stand in a warehouse room with provided coffee. It's still outdoor with a cover, so it can be a little breezy. About 20 minutes before departure, you line up and enter the ship in the order of the line. So, show up early if you want a great window seat! Once in, you are encouraged to start dining at the breakfast buffet. There's a huge long table of desserts along with an omelette station and hot breakfast items and meat carving station. Get ready to relax and enjoy brunch and mimosa's. How did the food taste? Everything tasted good, about the same quality as a cruiseline or upscale cafeteria. Don't expect gourmet meals and service, but I'd say it's on par with a typical four star hotel brunch buffet. There's no prime rib, but there's some pork and turkey carvings. Really, I was too full that I did not end up trying everything. Plus, some of the food ran out by the last 20 minutes. So, get your eats early because I sensed some hoarding on the ship. Maybe they were worried we'd be stranded and foodless at the Status. Hah! The service is impeccable as the moment I attempted to pour my own mimosa, I was lightly scolded by our server. Bathrooms are located on deck and you can either stay on the top floor or go to the bottom for seating. The jazz band is on the top floor, so I definitely recommend coming early for best seats. The band also calls out birthdays, anniversaries and any other special occasion if you let your server know. Half way through the cruise, we went outside and took amazing photos of the statue of liberty along with the Manhattan and New Jersey skyline. It was an incredible experience and a special moment that will forever be in my mind! Even from inside, if you have a window seat you can easily look out and enjoy the amazing views. Unlimited booze and brunch cruise for $50. Pretty solid deal and you get to sail the lower tip of Manhattan and chill with an awesome DJ on the top deck. Boarding was simple and smooth. You get seated in a big round table. If you are booking with a group, have like 10 people for a table, or else you'll be sharing the table. Depending on who you sit with in your table, if it's strangers, it would break to ice to just say hi to everyone and say wassup, or else it would feel sort of awkward for those who are none social. You start with donuts and unlimited mimosas and bloody marys. The second comes the waffles and fried chicken and quiche with and without cheese. All you can eat and drink mimosas! You can add extra's like eggs and avocados to your tab for about $3 and some other extra top shelf liquor drinks for additional $. After you are done eating, you can hangout on the top deck where there are some side tables and booth with a live DJ mixing some good beats for you to dance away while also taking in the sights of lower Manhattan. You will pass by the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan and Williamsburg bridge, and downtown Brooklyn Park. The final stop would be getting up and close to see the Statue of Liberty before boarding back on the pier 15 near seaport. Service was awesome and staff was super attentive. Although I left my table to hangout on the upper deck, the staff still managed to continuously refill my mimosa glass to keep me quenched. The Lady Liberty Lunch Cruise was so wonderful. i've spent the last week hosting a friend from the UK and she was very impressed with the experience. i was able to get a good deal via Groupon and there was no drama with them honoring it. The boat cruises by lower Manhattan all the way up to Chelsea, then makes a bee line towards Ellis Island, and of course, the Statue of Liberty. The views were great, and we got to take lots of pictures. On the way back to Pier 15, it goes under the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, and those were nice views as well. All the while, good music was being played by the DJ on board - lots of the latest songs, but a few oldies too. i, my friend, and a few other people were visibly enjoying the tunes. The Lady Liberty Lunch Cruise also comes with a buffet lunch which was quite tasty, and vegetarian friendly. There wasn't a ton of options, but the food was cooked well. Additionally, the cruise crew provided great service throughout. Everything was supervised by a lovely gentleman named Gabriel who routinely, but not too often, made useful announcements about when it would be good to get up to the top deck to take pictures. Overall, i recommend the Hornblower Lady Liberty Lunch Cruise. Even though i'm a New Yawk native, i enjoyed the experience, but more importantly my guest had a great time. i had to make several calls to Hornblower to make the reservation as their automated system isn't great; but once i was able to speak to a real person, it was all good from there. read more

We were looking for something to do on Saturday afternoon since the weather was nice so we decided to take the 1 hour harbor cruise to see the Statue of Liberty. I found a deal on Groupon for $12 tickets so it was a good bargain. We took the last cruise of the day at 4:00 and it was a little chilly on the water but I wanted to stay on the top deck to get good pictures. We passed all of the sights and I got some nice pics of Lady Liberty as well as Ellis Island, Brooklyn Bridge and the NYC skyline. They did have a comical tour guide providing some commentary on what we were passing and sharing some fun facts... all in all a nice quick trip around the harbor. read more

We took the Live After Five cruise on a Saturday night. Overall it was cute and there was a nice crowd. They do get really close to the Statue of Liberty and you can get some dope pics. It really was a nice ride. Staff was awesome. They worked hard and were friendly. My only recommendation is figure out how to open more bars. The lines for the bar were long but the bartenders killed it even though they spent the entire night in the weeds. If not more bars then you need a separate bartender for the service bars and more cocktail servers. read more

I thought the Hornblower cruise wasn't bad at all. The location of the boat was a little hard to find, but maybe we didn't listen at what the tour guide told us. I don't know. But it's located on Pier 15. (That's the one to the right when looking at the pier) Okay so we took one of the bus tours and it came with a free ticket to the cruise. When we got there the staff was sweet. They keep the bottom of the bus ticket. So the bus is unlimited rides for 2 days, but the cruise is only one ride. When they tare off your ticket you take a quick photo and proceed to the boat. The boat isn't very modern but it alright. They could use a little updating, but for he price I couldn't complain. The boat goes out and passes the statute of liberty, and you can see the the city as well. The boat ride wasn't long at all. Less than an hour. They sell snacks and drinks on the cruise as well. If you get the bus ride take advantage of the free cruise that comes with it. read more

Didn't think I would be coming back to a cruise after the Yelp Holiday Hangover in Januaray but I did! Thanks for the promo, Hornblower Hybrid/yelp! Got my ticket online prior to boarding. I chose the "alive after five" cruise that departed at 6pm. Boarding was at 5:30pm. I got there right around 5:30pm because I didn't know how long the line would be. I thought I would be late considering the line at the yelp party. I was wrong! Nobody was in line at 5:30pm. Went to the main office (they have bathrooms there) and got my wristband. Headed to the boat at the end of the dock. There, red carpet welcoming its guests! Super fancy! I boarded shortly after 5:30pm and there were only a couple of people on board. The cruise seemed super empty after experiencing the craziness of the yelp holiday hangover. 10 minutes prior to 6pm, some groups of people started boarding. We departed at around 6:10pm and we had no more than 30 people on board. So priority boarding (extra $5) was not necessary for me. However, you may consider getting the priority boarding option during the summer time where I imagine it to be much busier. It was nice because it was not super crowded. Tables on the top floor were first come, first served. I believe tables on the middle floor and bottom floor can be reserved with a fee ($10?). When I checked-in, I was asked if I would like to upgrade to food/wine package. I declined. The food didn't look too interesting: some crackers, assorted fruits/cheese, pot-stickers, and some other finger food. I am glad I didn't opt for the $40 cruise & food package. My recommendation is to stuff yourself with dim sum or cheap Chinatown food prior to your cruise trip to avoid the $40. I like the fact that the boat is super new. Bathrooms on board are super clean. There are 4 bathrooms on the middle floor. I think it is a bit awkward how the bathrooms are located on both sides of its main dance floor. When I was on the cruise, this one staff Kyle was super nice to me. He was super friendly to other guests as well. He kept asking if anyone needed pictures taken or need any assistance. We were looking at options to seeing the Statue of Liberty and this sounded like a decent deal $57 a person for a cruise around Ellis island along with some passes for their hop on and off city tours. First, off the boat literally hit the bridge as they were departing the pier. It was very very scary. The tour went on and the views aren't bad but the ride was very rough. It tossed back and forth. I sure hope I was a bad outlier but I would never do it again. Glad to be alive and unharmed. read more

We took the sightseeing cruise that gives a fantastic view of the NYC's top attractions such as Brooklyn bridge, Statue of liberty, Manhattan skyline and some more. Its an hour long cruise but could be about 1 1/2 to 2 hours covering check-in/out process depending on the time and number of passengers. When we checked in, the cruise was just about to start and people already boarded. So no lines for us and checkin was real quick..lucky us! We went to the top deck and took a seat indoors where we kept our stroller and diaper bag. When we rode through the attractions we just went out in the open deck. We were mostly in and out often since we were with a toddler. It was hard to keep our active toddler in the open area but good that he could stay in the closed indoors safely. They charge $30 per person for the sightseeing cruise, which is okay for tourists. However, since we are not exactly tourists yet we wanted to take the cruise, so I looked for Groupon deals. Alas, got a good Groupon deal that was $12 per person. Then theres also the Staten island ferry that is another option for sightseeing that too free of cost. But, while on the Hornblower cruise, I noticed the Staten island ferry which was so overcrowded. If you want a relaxing cruise and enjoy your ride then Hornblower is definitely the way to go. read more

Great Cruise!!! Great Scenery and nice boat. Side note-They only serve Beer and chips and the price for chips $4 a small bag My son is special needs and he was disturbed prior to the ship sailing. Some losers were holding a seat and refused to let anyone sit on the bench and when we approached the captain he made a Statement on the intercom and nothing else. What made me laugh was he asked for a tip and held a bag open when the cruise was over and we were exiting. Yeah ummm no. Sailed on a Thursday night. I've been on the hornblower cruises couple times first for brunch and this time for an evening cruise. My overall experience has always been good. Groupon is a great place to buy tickets for the hornblower because they offer inclusive deals of food and alcohol which is great. I sailed from 6pm-8pm and the cruise had plenty of space to accommodate everyone.The food was also good they had a variety of snacks, a pasta station, Asian and Mexican food. A little bit of everything. The views of the city were also beautiful and the DJ took request for songs and played so much diverse music! I really enjoyed this little excursion! Since it was my hubs first time in the city, I wanted to book something that would give him a quick overview and be able to see the city skyline. This fit the bill nicely. Pro-tip - I booked this on Groupon so it was about half off the regular price. The cruise is about an hour long, but that includes docking time. The trip was so cheap, I totally didn't mind it. The DJ was pretty cool, I was digging all the music. They got some audience participation with doing the electric slide - Hubs and I opted not to join in. But it's there if you would like. The cruise takes you out to a pretty close look at the Manhattan bridge, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, etc with quick snippets of history on the items named. I enjoyed that aspect. We went on the last boat out that day and it was great! The sun was starting to set (it was kind of gloomy all day so I guess that wasn't much different from the rest of the day) and there was a nice breeze about. "Alive after 5" cruise departs about 5-10 minutes around 6pm. Buffet is pretty expensive for what it is at $25 and goes until 7pm. The food is basically sliders, pizza, and various other appetizers, not real full entrees. I see people onboard in sneakers, baseball caps, and t shirts so dont sweat the dress code. Some guests even had suitcases with them. Fresh off the boat literally i suppose. Very good music, mostly pop and hip hop, and not crowded. Although make sure you board as quickly as you can because seating on the top and lower decks are limited and when people sit down they basically claim it for the whole ride. The boat cruises the river between lower and midtown manhattan doing a full circle so if you missed a shot on your side of the boat you will get a second chance on the other. Omg...i don't even know where to begin! This is the best brunch i've ever had, one of the best parties i've ever been to and THE best birthday and party that i've ever planned! I bought a $39 Pulsd deal for the Bubbles, Beats and Bottomless Brunch (BBB) Cruise, and asked all my friends to purchase the deal as well. Once they did, they passed me their voucher codes, which I then forwarded to the Hornblower's Events team, so they could reserve seats/tables for my group. I picked this past weekend, so I would say I began reserving seats at at least a month in advance, and just updated the Events team when another guest purchased a voucher. I also brought a cake on board, which I cleared with the Events team in advance. I highly suggest you do so as well! *Thank you to the Hornblowers team, especially Lisa, Franny and Robert for being so responsive, thorough and communicative! You made planning for this event seamless! Day of the event: Everything was perfect! The boarding process was seamless as well! Boarding began at 12:30pm. I had a group of 15, so all they had to do when we began boarding was state my name and they moved up the line entered the boat immediately. We walked into a clean, spotless room, with cool nautical party favors like captain hats, bubble blowers and key chains. They entire boat was sooo well decorated and classy! I had 2 tables for my group, and the donuts, fruits, parfaits and veggies were already set out. We began drinking once we boarded: they served mimosas (and did an AMAZING job at refilling our carafes, making sure no glass was empty at ALL times) and had a make your own Bloody Mary station, which, not surprisingly, wasn't as popular. You either love or hate Bloody Marys! The boat set sail at 1pm, and they began serving the chicken and waffles then. Sooo delicious! The chicken was juicy and flavorful and the waffles were buttery and yummy. Once I ate, I went up to the top outside deck, where the DJ and dance floor were LIT. To be honest, i was worried that it would be a cheesy Top 40 DJ, but they exceeded my expectations! This DJ played everything from the latest trap, soca, rap and pop hits, to the best old school hip hop and r&b tracks. THE MUSIC WAS ON POINT! We danced like there was no tomorrow! I was able to pass along a message to the DJ who announced that my party should go downstairs. There, they brought out my cake with lit candles and we sang happy birthday. We danced until we returned to the Pier at 3pm. All in all, this brunch cruise set a new standard for brunches and birthdays. All my friends raved about what an amazing time they had, especially at such an affordable price! Came with a group of 8 people this past weekend for brunch and what a great time! You get unlimited mimosas, there's a bloody mary station, chicken and waffles, fruit bar, and an awesome DJ. I love when the staff gets to join in and have fun with the rest of us too, which is exactly what happened during our cruise. They all had smiles on their faces, danced with everyone on board, it really was just a giant party. They were all more than willing to take photos for us and whoever else asked. This was my first time doing a boat cruise in NYC, but definitely would do it again! Tip: if you think you may get sick on board, bring some motion sickness pills. I happen to make it to the Latin boat party the wknd of Aug 17 & since it's been a while I'd figured it was time for an update, so where exactly do I begin? Boarding time was 9pm departs at 10 or at least that's what we thought? line to board was crazy long no clue when they actually started boarding but the boat didn't leave till about 11:15 this was not very organized. Getting drinks in the middle area was a pain way too crowed so it took some time, a little better on the upper deck bar. This boat definitely needs a good cleaning & a serious face lift it is not in the best condition, boat smelled, dirty floors & no AC on the main level they had fans which would have been ok had it not been so packed but only one fan worked out of the 2 this made this area painful to be in. we stuck to Beer & water.. beer was $20 dollars for 2 Brooklyn Lager cans!! Best part of the boat party was of course the nice city views, music was a decent mix on the main level although DJ was all over the place some house music above not terrible. The night didn't end on the best note since there was a big fight that broke out while getting off the boat, unreal security seemed to handle it quickly. I was on the boat celebrating a birthday with friends & aside from the terrible accommodations we made the best of it & enjoyed ourselves but the boat company/ party promoters some one needs to do better here. read more

We did the cruise this past weekend to see the Statue of Liberty. I'll start by saying that the value of this trip ($12/Groupon) is NOT bad at all for taking a quick trip out to see the Statue and islands. It's wonderful for those of us who don't want to trek all over the Statue on foot amongst the masses in 95 degree heat. The guide told us several small tidbits of information we wouldn't have known otherwise. We saw Ellis Island, Governers Idland, the lady herself, beautiful city views, the East River and the Hudson. Is it comfortable? Not quite. The chairs are bungeed to the railings. There aren't enough seats upstairs for all those on board. But hey- we got to see the sights! We got to learn things. For me this was the worse thing that cross my mind when I hear New York. So I was walking to the Battery Park to get a ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty. On my way there, there were like 3 guys who approached me about getting their ferry that does not stop on the Island because it is "boring, you can not take picturesc and it take 3-4 hours". I refused them because they were too obviously agressive by trying to sell you their product. After that I was trying to get to the building that is selling tickets for the Island where another guy with "Infromation" shirt comes to me. He told me the same story, 4 hours long, very bad, just go with the ferry ride without stopping to the island since it is way faster and the same thing. I asked him if he is a representative for the ferry company and he said no, but he highly recommands to take that one. (The guy was in fact from their company). We spoke at 11:30 with a person who sold us the tickets, we told him that we do not have much time, so we asked about the schedule. He said:"At 12 we start boarding, departure at 12:10-12:15 and be back by 1:00-1:15" -A TOTAL LIE!! We got there,after 15 min walk (3 if you ask the ticket person again) , stayed in line for a loooong time, everything was late and they were going really fast to make up for the time. Aaaaand, we got back at: 2:40!!!!!!! THAT IS 3 HOURS! So you are selling me a ticket saying that brags about being way faster than the other one that is "long and boring) and you sell it for twice the price by lying and doing waaay worse, that massed up all my day. That is incredibly bad, just want to sell you the ticket no matter what, next time I would better go with some pirates on a life-boat!! If you get this tickets, give it away to some poor souls! read more

It's expensive eating or drinking on the boat, so have a good breakfast before you board! 1 beer, 1hot dog, 1 club soda was 20$ beer was 11$, hotdog 4$, club soda 4$, I gave a 1$ tip!!! We ate at TAO the night before and paid 7$ for a beer, an expensive restaurant, so you can imagine our surprise when paying 11$ for a beer! I'd have had a few more if the price were reasonable! 5-6$ beer would have been more appropriate for the scene!! Or backpack your own beer!! None the less..... excellent choice!! Got a package from trip advisor. We decided to upgrade to food and drinks(smart decision). The sights were great staff was pleasant and we enjoyed conversation with other parties on board. As far as bang for your buck this is a great way to enjoy sights. We walked all day and found it pleasant to relax for two hours and rest. I had a blast at the lady Liberty tour. David K and I took my out of Townes friend. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. The cruise is a bit shorter than most but they don't rush you off. The bathrooms are beautiful! Open bar and a buffet so I was a happy girl. Decent DJ. This was an out of season trip so the bar upstairs wasn't open, also it was raining so that could be why. We had a nice time. Would recommend to anyone staying in Manhattan who wants to see the sites and get their booze on. read more

This was the highlight of my NYC trip. The boat was very nice, the drinks were perfect and the staff was there for whatever you needed. We got to the check in super early as our cell phone was dying and had our tickets on it. Dupree checked our tickets early and even went above and beyond to get us a charger. We tried to tip him and he even declined saying it was his job. Everywhere else in NYC expected a tip and a gracious one at that for just doing their job. I was so impressed with my experience on the night party cruise I will talk about it for years to come. This cruise was life changing my husband and I had the best time ever. I would go as far to say it was better than our wedding celebration. read more

The boat we got on was embarrassing, the dirtiest, water spot windows, Staten Island ferry looking boat. The lines for drinks were long as hell, the whole boat was dirty, and tickets say be there latest by 1030pm boat didn't leave until 1130pm so unprofessional. This specific "Hornblower cruise" is not on a Hornblower boat and looked tacky. DO NOT DO THIS CRUISE. All the boats on the ports looked amazing EXCEPT OUR BOAT, so upset especially it being a first time experience. I'm writing this review in the middle of a 3 hour Rock the Yacht "cruise". I know Rob, the owner, reads these, so I'm going to be as diplomatic as possible in the hopes he takes the concerns seriously. I put "cruise" in quotes because we haven't moved from the docks. It's a foggy night, so maybe the organizers thought we couldn't tell, but the pier is only 15 feet away. When we walked on board, we were hit with the smell of a woman's nethers. I have to hope it was just fish, and that the afternoon wasn't an orgy that they just didn't have time to clean up. It was overwhelming and kept my date and me in the back of the boat off the dance floor (though the rest of the crowd seemed to power through it or pretend it wasn't there). Some other reviews have complained about a lack of air conditioning, and I can add one more to the list. One such review was 5 months ago. Has the AC been broken this entire time? Thankfully it's winter so it's not too hard to stay cool, but the lack of ventilation is keeping this unbearable smell trapped inside. Overall, I regret coming on this cruise, and I didn't even buy my ticket. read more

Pretty nice looking pier for where we had to wait for our boat, the Hybrid, for this year's Yelp Holiday Hangover. Wonderful views of the East River and Brooklyn. Easy to get to from the FDR. Plenty of wooded lawn chairs and benches to sit on. Very clean. A cafe and bar is also here and we got to watch the Broncos beat up on the Patriots as there was a flat screen facing the outside. Sweet! Needed something to cheer us up as we waited about 90 minutes in the cold windy weather to board. Once they checked our ID's on party passes on line it all moved quickly and boarded easily. I am sure on warm sunny days this must be a peaceful spot to relax at and enjoy the terrific views. Good place to hide out at and get away from it all for a while. read more

Because of all the wonderful reviews I have read in the past from the Yelp Holiday Hangover parties, I decided to go forth and book my 25th birthday party with this company. I called hornblower near the end of November to gather all the information about the different packages that were being offered. I wound up picking the VIP package which included priority boarding, open bar, reserved seats and lite bites which was $95 a person. Elasea was who was guiding me through all the details and was extremely nice, professional and very helpful throughout the entire process. Even on her days off she would talk to me through her cell phone and answers any questions I had. She was also on top of sending and reading all the emails that were going on between us. I had my cruise booked since November for the cruise for January 10. However, I received a phone call five days before hand stating that they had to move the date because the company did not book enough of people. I pretty much went into a panic because I had to check with the rest of the group to see if the new date was okay with them along with rearranging my job schedule as well. Because of this mistake the company offered me two complimentary tickets for this cruise, champagne bottles, balloons for my table, a cake and more complimentary tickets in the summer for myself and three other guests. The comps were definitely amazing and made the situation much better especially after that hassle. The cruise was this past weekend. The boat from the outside wasn't exactly what I expected due to what was advertised on the main website but at that point it was whatever. We boarded the inside of the boat which was nice on the second floor. It was cozy and warm, had tons of lights and a DJ. There was a dance floor and a bar area. The bartender Keith was bomb! Loads of fun and extremely excited to serve. We The other staff members on board were very nice as well. We were brought downstairs to our table. The lower level was pretty outdated and didn't look nearly as nice as the second level. Our lite bites included ziti, veggies, beef and chicken. The ziti was kind of cold but besides that the rest of the food was pretty good. As promised there were two bottles of champagne on my table chilled the whole time. The chocolate cake was OUTSTANDING. The actual cruise was very nice, great views of the city and statue of liberty. All and all we had a great time, we all left the cruise smiling and would be interested in returning. I'm looking forward to cruising with them in the summer, however maybe aboard a different boat. read more

5 stars all the way! We've been wanting to check out one of these party cruises for awhile. So I purchased 2 "Walk the Plank" tickets for the "Rock the Yacht" cruise. These tickets were $65 each and included unlimited beer and wine as well as bar snacks. Our cruise was July 23rd and I can't even begin to explain what a great time we had. According to the tickets, boarding begins at 8:15 for the 9pm cruise. We arrived at the pier at approximately 7:50 maybe even a little before. I suggest that you arrive early if you want to get a good seat on the top deck. Once we passed through security and checked in we waited until about 8:20 or so before boarding actually began. Once we were on board we headed directly upstairs to grab 2 seats and a table. We sat towards the front of the ship near the bar. After finding two seats we headed towards the bar where the bartender was ready to start pouring our drinks. Before we knew it, the top deck was crowded. You could tell many people were celebrating birthdays, bachelor/bachelorette parties, and just out to have a good time. As far as our "Walk the Plank" tickets I think it was well worth the $65 as I'm not sure how much individual priced drinks were but we both had at least 3-4 drinks. I definitely recommend it if you're okay with the basic beers and wines. We were unclear if the "bar snacks" as there was a buffet set up on the 2nd floor that we helped ourselves to and no one stopped us. We tried the sausage and peppers along with some eggplant that was very delicious. There were plenty of other choices on the buffet as well. The cruise was from 9-12 and we got awesome views of the World Trade Center, ESB, all of lower Manhattan, and the Statue of Liberty. I highly recommend the experience and am sure we WILL definitely do it again! read more
