I love Bath & Body Works for all things hand soap. I don't know what it is about all of their foaming soaps, but I just don't feel right unless I have it at literally every sink. I love their huge menu of hand soaps and like to choose just the right scent for different rooms. Like Iced Lemon Pound Cake just deserves to be in the kitchen, am I right? Karla, the sales associate, was super helpful in making the most of our coupon and even suggested a lotion that offered more product for a better value. She was friendly and made the shopping experience really comfortable. The other associates were also kind and checked in with my party to see if we needed help finding anything. This is my absolute favorite location. Literally visited 3 times in the last week. The store is recently renovated and birch street is just such a cute area. Stopped in around 5 PM to pick up my online order on a 90° day and had my laptop with me because I didn't want to leave it in a hot car. The store was empty, and there were two employees present. From the moment I walked in, the interaction felt off . I was asked in a tone that felt abrupt if I was "looking for something," which was uncomfortable as a customer just coming in to shop. After letting them know I was picking up an online order, I asked if I could briefly set my briefcase on the back counter with my order while I grabbed a few additional items, so I wouldn't risk knocking anything over in the small space. The employee behind the counter (Sherry) looked at the other employee, and they both said no, adding that they "didn't think that was a good idea." The response felt rude and dismissive, and overall the interaction made me feel unwelcome. I understand policies exist, but tone and basic customer service matter. A simple, professional explanation or a more courteous approach would have made a big difference. I frequently shop here and pick up candles, but I will no longer be supporting this location. I'll be taking my business to the Brea Mall store instead. read more

Bath and body works is my favorite place of shopping. Today, they had a promotion going on for small hand sanitizer and hand soap and soaps. I got my hand sanitizers each for one dollar and today was last day. The store was very busy and it was a long line. They have the best customer service with relax workers. They are all very helpful and patient. I also bought my hand sanitizer holder. Finally , I found the pink butterfly one. I was looking for it about one and half year. Was somewhat disappointed when it got to my turn at the cash register ready to buy 1 of my favorite scented candles, 'Limoncello,' except it was actually just a display piece Not on sale. What a bummer. Well, i didn't end up buying anything else even though there was a Clearance event here today: I couldn't find anything I needed. It was that scent and the 'Winter Candy Apple,' scent which I was unable to locate a spray bottle to. I guess it was not my day here. This is a comparably tiny Bath & Body Works location, situated on Birch St, across from Bruxie the chicken and waffle place. It still surprises me sometimes how BBW just happens to have smaller branches like these still in existence. But the more, the merrier. In fact, this one is so small, and the exterior signage blends in so well with the old town vibe surrounding, it's forgettable that it's even there. Most other locations would have big and brightly lit logo or text, catching your attention, calling you, "COME IN, COME IN, SMELL ME!" This branch, just quietly and calmly sitting. Waiting. "Notice me, senpai," she whispers. All right, seriously though, I don't think this store gets a lot of foot traffic, because the inventory is WELL STOCKED. All the new candles are fully available. I am talking about every single member of a new collection. All here. Some of the older winter variety, or even fall options, still there. So now I know, and you know too, if you're hunting down a fast-moving hot commodity, you may be able to find it here. I did not make a purchase, attempt a return, or interact much with the staff here. I pretty much walked in and out today, all within 5 to 10 minutes time. So for a rather cursory review, I'd put down 4 stars for now. (A neutral score is what I intend to give, but 3 stars look sort of wrong. As someone who HATES shopping but was gifted with a $100 Bath&Body Works gift card (unused since 2017...which goes to show you how much I hate shopping), I was thrilled to find a Bath&Body Works store that wasn't located inside a mall. Both Diana (store manager) and Marissa have a friendly demeanor and I noticed that they treated all of their customers with VIP service. I was extremely impressed how much product knowledge they had, ie. they both knew the exact prices/locations of everything, what discounts were occurring, Bath&Body Works App promotions etc. Because I was shopping there during the weekdays when it's not crazy busy, they gave me personalized service and helped me figure out how to get the best deals for my $100 gift card. I could tell that they really enjoyed helping out their customers if time permitted. If I ever return to Bath&Body Works (because I still hate shopping), I'm definitely coming to the Downtown Brea Bath&Body Works during weekdays. I admit, I LOVE shopping at any Bath & Body store. Mainly to purchase scented hand sanitizers but they also offer several varieties of hand lotions which I use daily. This location was extra nice, mainly bcos of the customer service I received while shopping. The two store employees on this specific Wednesday I visited, were simply AWESOME! Customer service is ALWAYS a HUGE plus while shopping at any Bath & Body store however, at this store, I was welcomed as soon as the stepped one foot into the store. YES, ONE FOOT! Never having visited this specific store, I was unsure where to locate hand sanitizers. I was escorted all the way to the area of the store in which these items were on display. Next, I inquired about hand lotions. Once again, instead of someone simply pointing to any area of the store, this employee came from behind the counter and escorted me to the area of the store where I could find several varieties of hand lotions. Instead of simply walking away, this employee (sorry that I did not get your name), opened a couple of sample bottles and had me take a whiff of each lotion in order to smell which one I liked best. After picking up a few more items, I approached the counter to pay and was greeted by this same employee with a very welcoming attitude and paid for my merchandise. I might add that I observed that BOTH employees treated every single customer the way I was treated while in the store. A HUGE PLUS! Both employees are to be commended for a GREAT attitude, treating every customer like they matter, knowledge of store products and their professionalism, THANK YOU! This location has been my favorite one to shop at, but my visit yesterday has been the best shopping experience I've had here. Both employees working, Dulce and Lewis, were very helpful and friendly. Dulce helped direct me to the items I was looking for. As I was chatting with her about a $10 off of $40 coupon I was going to use, she suggested that I check out Retail Me Not for an even better coupon: $10 off of $30. Great deal, and I ended up buying MORE stuff because of this coupon (which I was able to use multiple times). Lewis helped me out at check out and was very friendly and patient, especially since my order had to be divided into 4 different checks in order to use all of my coupons. I don't like Bath & Body Works as much as I did when I was in high school. Back then, I loved the scents and the luxury of buying an array of products in different scents. Now I appreciate products that are reasonably priced, highly effective for moisturizing and more lightly scented. B&BW just isn't that for me. I like to purchase their products for gifts - especially when you can get a good deal. My mom likes their candles and I like the antibacterial products. In general, it's rare that I find myself at B&BW. I like that you don't have to go all the way to the mall to shop for their products. This location has consistently provided crap customer service any and every time I've come in. No sales associate has ever once greeted me. Any interaction I've ever had with a sales associate is when I'm finally at the cash register checking out. Some customers may like the fact that they aren't "bothered" while shopping or don't care either way if someone greets them but I'm not that customer. I had worked at Bath and Body Works during my time in college for years and was trained to provide equal customer service to everyone (which also means greeting and asking open ended questions to every single person who comes in the store). This is the only location I've ever been to that does not do that. If I were a secret shopper I'd gladly flunk the heck out of this location. Me and one of my friends came into this location tonight 3/12/2021. We were greated by one of the employees at the door and she offered us hand sanitizer. While spraying our hands with the sanitizer she gave us a speel about how they aren't allowing customers to open and smell any products because of covid-19 and to keep our nose and mouth covered. We said "oh okay, yeah we get it". In our heads we thought "just don't unscrew any products open". So we continued through the store as she was clearly keeping an eye on the both of us. (Don't understand why). We went to smell some of the body washes and she comes up to us and says "I don't know if I just didn't make it clear to you two but there is absolutely no opening any products" and I said "I just thought you mean no screwing any products open?" She responded "yeah, not that either" so I responded "Well how am I supposed to even smell the new products you guys have out?" She said to get candles with similar scents and smell those or to smell two candles at the same time with similar scents. We were both like "uh, okay?". She made us feel very uncomfortable and embarrassed because she made it known in front of all the other customers that we were doing things wrong. We ended up waiting until she was distracted with other customers before we walked out of the store. We understand the covid rules but don't make your customers feel stupid or embarrassed because they make a mistake. read more

I love B&BW! I usually don't go into B&BW since it is pretty expensive if you buy it at face price... but if you go during coupon time, then it's worth it! The ladies who were working while my friend and I were in there were so helpful! Not too pushy, and gave great recommendations. They also gave us coupons and suggestions on how to bundle them! I came in to return three items that I didn't need. I patiently waited in line to do so. One of the employees (unfortunately didn't get her name, none of the employees had name tags on) came around and put her mask under her chin and asked if I was paying with card. I told her a return and keep in mind that the music was so loud she couldn't hear me. I had to repeat myself twice. I inform her if she can't hear then it should be a noted to have music lowered. I was disappointed that she had take her mask off for a brief moment to assist me. As I browsed around the candle section since there was a sale, I asked another employee ((found out she's a manager), for suggestions on the candles. I informed her about the other employee with the mask. She said she'll discuss it with the employee. But didn't seem to care about the music. Don't get me wrong, this manager is friendly; but not once was the music lowered after I informed her about that aspect of it all. As I returned to the line to pay for the candles, I ended up getting the same employee with the mask. She goes on to tell me that she was told about the mask, not once apologized about it. She also informed me that she was vaccinated, why she told me this, not sure. How would I know if she's been given both shots. She and the other employees maybe fully vaccinated, but no one knows if the other clients are vaccinated. I would have given either 4 or 5 star review, but without the apology from this one employee and no name tags worn, I have to give less stars. Being in retail/customer service and in the middle of a pandemic, please be more alert of your surroundings and for yourself of others during this pandemic. One of the reviewers mentioned middle school and I totally cracked up as I can remember everyone having country apple (was it?) lotion in 6th grade PE (oh the horrors of middle school PE btw). Anyway, this cute B&B is in Downtown Brea and carries just about everything you remember (tiny hand sans, body butter, body mists, zesty hand soaps, etc.). Some reviewers mentioned that this location is small, but I didn't get that impression. What I did notice is how clean/neat this store is. Also the awesome staff is definitely worth mentioning.
