came in today to make a return and usually have a very pleasant experience here, which is why I wanted to share this. Unfortunately, my interaction with Jessica or "Jess" was disappointing she came across as rude and condescending, and it made me feel very uncomfortable. I even found myself asking if she was okay because of how the interaction felt. This was my first time making a return, she even shook the bottle of product and said it "felt funny," which added to the discomfort. I didn't have my receipt, but I've been told in the past that wouldn't be an issue. She mentioned 4 times that having my receipt would have helped, I could tell her doing this return was a huge ask. I really enjoy coming to this location because it's convenient and I've always had good experiences, but this interaction was upsetting. I hope there can be improvement in customer service moving forward. read more

Need to give a shout out to my local salon centric for always being awesome. Love coming in here because everyone is always pleasant. While I'm here I would like to address a comment in a review made by Snow R describing one of the employees as "major attitude and way extra extreme liberal". I was wracking my brain trying to think of who because I've never once seen anything political from any of the workers and realized Snow was just being racist. Your comment is almost as ridiculous as your name. I hope you don't discriminate against clients assuming their political stance over their appearance. You're in the wrong industry, I bet you get triggered every time you have to look at the color wheel and see a rainbow. Move to Florida. This is the best location I've ever been to. I've gone to a few different ones but this one is closest to me & I really like the girls that work there! Any time I need a recommendation or if I have a specific need, the girls never fail to show me a product & they're on point with educating me what it does & how to use it. Today I brought my son with me & asked for a recommendation for an age-appropriate shampoo. Right away one of the girls I recognized from my last visit showed me a bottle of Verb Ghost & told me it was gentle, unlike the harsher products you might find on the shelves at Target (not bashing!) aimed at kids. Not only was I happy, but it made him feel special too to have his very own shampoo from store that ~mommy~ shops from. I wouldn't know what to do without this SalonCentric! read more

I love going to this store because the girls working there are so friendly and welcoming. I went in the other day with my 2 daughters (both under 3 years old). It had been a rough day and as much as I tried to control them to not run around and be rowdy in the store. They still managed to get away from me. And the girls there were so supportive and understanding. I think they saw I was literally having a mom breakdown. Their kindness that day literally made me cry at the counter. Jessica is beyond amazing! I've been coming to this location for 4 years. About 6 months ago, the Salon Centric crew I knew and loved moved on - to management, other stores, etc - I was happy for them but I was hesitant to return once this change happened. The location is very close to my house so I eventually gave in and returned. Jessica was so friendly she immediately won back my business. I went in asking one of the older ladies a suggestion for my virgin hair. The lady became very hostile and raised her voice extremely loudly at me. It was embarrassing. No one was inside except me and my co workers so whatever. She said "you're really testing my patience." How rude right?! I don't know if she thought I was lying about my virgin hair as I'm sure some people do lie but all in all her "suggestions" were useless and my blonde hair came out beautiful with the products I decided to get. I had made my account online as a new cosmetologist and customer service was so helpful but when I was paying at the store, she and this other tall girl didn't know what I was talking about so they gave me a NEW client # and sure enough I get an email from customer service that says I already have an account # so to use the first one given to me. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is because when I went in to get my olaplex, this girl with beautiful green hair and glasses helped me out very kindly. This Salon Centric location is great! All the girls who work here are super helpful and friendly. The store is almost always in stock of all my go-to products and hair color. I have been going here since this location opened two years ago, and I can count the number of times they've been out of stock on one hand. Other SC in the area have really poor selection and the employees don't ever really look stoked to be there or offer solutions if they are out of stock on a particular product. Susan the store manager of SC Fullerton is always one to go out of her way to help customers no matter what the complaint or issue!! Very knowledgeable about new and different product lines, and eager to educate their customers. :) read more

I normally never take my time to yelp something negative but today was my first & last time coming to this specific Salon Centric. The manager (lady with the bright red hair) gave me, my boss (salon owner) & our salon receptionist a lot of attitude. There was an issue with our salon account but while she was explaining the problem to us she was really loud and rude to us. I felt embarrassed because there was other people behind us in line and they heard everything she had to say. I think there's always a proper way to speak to your costumers, specially when handling a problem. It should always be discrete! Anyway, I will be taking my business to the Brea location like always. Just have to say I love this location. All the girls are so knowledgeable, talk up all the new brands and products coming in, always tell you about current or upcoming sales. Susan has been there forever and she really gets to know her customers, shares tips and tricks, and always knows what's going on in the area. I tried to contact corporate about 2 weeks ago and received no response. I thought that they would appreciate me reaching out to them directly as opposed to me putting them on blast on yelp. Apparently that wasnt the case because I was ignored. I am now beginning to think that bad customer service is apart of their company ideology. So here is the email I sent them: "Hello, I shopped at your Fullerton location today. The sales lady was the manager with the red hair. I found her to be extraordinarily rude, arrogant, condescending, and insufferable. I was asking a simple question about a color remover and she snottily responded asking if I was a student. I am not a student and I have a been a licensed cosmetologist for a number of years. She immediately gave me attitude about the nature of the color remover. I tried to look past this horrible customer service and ask her my next question about dry shampoos. She showed me a few but this also happened in a offensive manner. She even made a comment about how I couldn't have my cake and eat it too with a dry shampoo, referencing the fact that I wanted one that absorbed oil but also gave volume. I know that this is untrue because there is a dry shampoo that does both of those things but its retailed at a competitors store and I didn't necessarily want to make another trip when I was already at a beauty supply store. She even had the audacity to tell me to shop at the competitors store less, well maybe I'd think about it if the employees at Salon Centric were as kind and helpful as those at the competitors store. I ended up going to the other store to get the dry shampoo and mentioned my awful experience at your establishment. Funnily enough, the employees responded with "Oh was it the manager? Yeah the girl with the red hair? We hear a lot of bad stories about her". So apparently your Fullerton store is generating quite the reputation and its not a flattering one. No wonder I always see your competitors with plenty of people and I hardly see people in Salon Centric. Please focus more on your customer service and less on elitist managers." read more

I always find everything I need here. I've heard complaints about the manager who I have yet to encounter but that's beside the point. I've worked in beauty supply sales so I'm no stranger to the pain in the ass some customers can be even in a strictly professional setting. However these ladies always take the time to go above and beyond to point me in the direction I need to be(new store layout for me) as well as help me stay within budget and get every possible sale that I am eligible for. Susan and her staff do things according to store policy(such as making sure that only salon professionals get there hands on the goods, which protects the integrity of the salon world) however they also have personalities and take the time to get to know their customers. This place is a paradise for people that like styling and taking care of their hair. It is a "professionals only" shop though so you do need a cosmetology license to shop there.
