There is a surface lot a block (off of Monterey) away that has all the same problems as the street parking. Generally speaking I like the odds that the lot behind the police station offers, but in peak tourist season you'd best plan ahead for parking. This is a medium ish sized store very typical in layout for the shops that line this block close to the beach. The entrance faces the street, and the stock is laid out through the store with the cashier at the back. It will seem narrow but isn't really. The stock falls into mid range giftables. It's not a super expensive spot where you can blow 500 dollars on a purse but is the kind of spot where you can pick up a decent clutch for 40 bucks or so. Most of the items fall into the home décor category with a mild beach theme. There are inspirational books, wine accessories, all sorts of beach gear, light clothing, candles, leather craft goods, cups, and yes magnets because of course there are. Overall it's a reliable source of better quality gifts then you'll find elsewhere on the esplanade, the kind of things that won't embarrass you when you get home.

I can understand why some customers may think that it may come off as the employees are watching you while you shop. I don't think that was what was happening at all. We took a random Friday off just to have lunch in Capitola. We were early and was undecided on where to eat, so we walked around and landed in this cute gem of local boutique. I help pledge/donate to help dogs/puppies get pulled from the euthanasia list, but I cannot foster and adopt dogs/puppies now. My schedule, my finances, and overall place of living does not allow it, so I put 110% of my effort and free time into donating, volunteering, and fostering cats/kittens. I have fostered 22 kittens/cats. I have Adam (own rescue efforts), Alfred, and Myla that's not included in the total yet. So I'm basically crazy cat lady, so when finding this pair of earrings was fate that I knew I had to purchase even though I did not think I would be purchasing anything because we were just exploring to kill time before the restaurant opens. I'm so glad we came in. Service was warm and prices are fair - come support your local shops! I used to live less than a mile away from here... I do miss living up here.

I GOT THE WORST SERVICE HERE! the workers are sssoo two-faced! when i first walked in here with some friends, they greeted me with sweetly voices and plastered smiles. we walked around and the employees just hounded us to try something, commenting on scents, saying everything was on sale, etc. but when it became obvious that we were just browsing, their demeanor changed drastically. when i looked at them, they GLARED at us! and when i was around them i can just feeeel that icey cold-shoulder. i was like, "really mature." my friends and i browsed for a while (sample all the scents bahah) then we suddenly noticed that one of the employees was following us - practically leaning over our shoulders. she had her arms crossed watching as we tried scents, and would comment indifferently about the scents like it was protocol. then after a while she yelled, "ARE YOU GONNA BUY SOMETHING CUZ YOU'VE BEEN HERE A WHILE!" me and my friends' jaws dropped. i was half-furious and half-shocked... too shocked to react immediately. one of my friends actually felt so bad that she wanted to buy something for good measure, but we all stopped her. we just said loud enough for people to hear, "no don't buy anything, theyre RUDE here. you should not buy anything from people who TREAT YOU BADLY!" the employee just rolled her eyes, and when we stormed off we heard her yell, "ARE YOU SERIOUS!?" and the other employee rolled her eyes at us and shook her head. YEAH WE'RE SERIOUS. after that, i wrote a letter and called the management about the horrible service we had (yeah, it was so bad i actually took the time to do this). they said they would "take action". but 2 months later, my friend told me that the rude worker was still there. so obviously this chain does not care about their customers... then again this is a chain. so i decided to post my experience on yelp just to inform people of the crap service here. anyway, ive never stepped foot in that shop, or any other bath and body works shops, since then. that was the worst customer service i've ever had, and probably will ever have, and i wont risk dealing with that kind of RUDE ATTITUDE ever again. trust me you guys, you can find OVERPRICED scented lotions ANYWHERE. read more

Some items advertised on their email newsletters are not in stock frequently. Their sales are not in tune with their online newsletter sometimes things are not properly priced. Truthfully I never thought I would become a person that would obsess over a pair of sneakers, but as soon as I saw the blue Nike court vision low online, I knew I had to have them. After going to three different locations with no luck they had my size here. When I arrived at the store, I walked in and was greeted right away. They have someone at the front desk who asked if I was shopping or pickup. The associate was very polite to me, at first I did not see the shoes. She checked in the back for me and was literally back in 10 minutes. I tried them on, they are so comfortable and I was lucky because they were the last and only pair left in the store (in my size too) it was meant to be lol. When she rung me up at the register, then checked my account and told me I had ten dollars in rewards points, so I used those points to save money.
