Saturday morning I got word of a surprise birthday party; got ready and rushed over to Bath & Body Works. There just as soon as the store opened for business. Learned it was a great sale happening on the moisturizer body lotions!!! I was greeted by the sales team and received help in selecting my lotions. I requested 2 small bags and used it as my gift bag for the birthday party. I recommend Bath and Body Works for any occasions that come up in your life (items for Men as well). The staff were so kind and it is always a pleasant experience shopping here. The low review is for the store return policies. Even though you're encouraged to sign up for the rewards program with a phone and email, there is no way to pull up the transaction history on the mobile app or apparently on the register when you enter your phone number. I wanted to exchange a shampoo and conditioner purchased 15 days ago. The employees were apologetic and let me know I needed to have an ID to scan to complete the exchange if I didn't have the paper receipt. I thanked them, left and called the customer care number at the bottom of the website. The fellow on the phone also offered apologies and a 20% off coupon. I asked what would happen if I wasn't happy with the purchase I made with the coupon? Would I run into the same problems if I wanted to return that? It would be nice if Bath and Body Works updated their rewards system to include digital receipts the same way Target, Ulta, Best Buy, Macys, Kohls, Sephora, Hot Topic, and literally every store ever does. I will mention is I worked at the same Bath and Body Works about ten years ago and we took returns for just about any reason with no fuss. I get that policies and management changed but I wish they would go back that system. It is a fun store and again this isn't a dig at the employees but because this wasted so much of my time I wont be shopping here anymore. read more

Saw the worst case of customer service today in this store, I'm in town visiting my brothers and was shopping in the mall for gifts. Instead of letting the store manager handle a situation,two store employees decided to verbally attack and reprimand a customer who was asking honest questions on a return/ exchange. If they had rolled their eyes at me the way they did her,and belittle her on the floor Id have been demanding the Mgr. On duty. I hope she calls corp. Mind you,I'm letting my friends and family know that if this now a common practice,not to bother to shop at this location. read more

Unfortunately I can't give them 5 stars. I went in yesterday around 5-6pm there was two girls assisting customers. There was an employee on her phone the whole time I was there. She did not acknowledge me like the other girls acknowledge their customers. Before I left I asked for her name. They said it was Angela, and she's a manager. That made me more upset. How can they have her as a manager???? read more

Okay, so this review is from a guy's point of view (me) The employees here are very nice and friendly. One of the girls (I don't remember her name) remembered my favorite scent (Warm Vanilla Sugar) and asked if I wanted to stock up on it and I did. Everything is nice and organized. I am definately coming back and recommending this place to friends and family. I only come here when there is a really good sale (B3G3) on top of me having a coupon. This place rocks! read more

The Good Stuff: Go for the candles. It's a great go-to place for those quick and easy gifts (hostess gift, Secret Santa, thank you, co-worker you really couldn't care less about had a birthday at the office, and you're required to bring a gift). Also, the store is very well displayed and organized. And Now for the Bad: The staff is really nice, but they are SUPER-IN-YOUR-FACE the entire time you're there. There is no such thing as "chill browsing" at Bath & Body. I went in wearing my headphones with the idea of listening to an album that I'd just downloaded, and I didn't get to hear one friggin' song. Every step I took, there was at least one girl on me telling me how she loved that one, or how she had that one, or have you tried this one, or aren't these gift sets so cute, or did you know if you buy a billion, you get a billion free. And it isn't just this store either. The one at Del Monte Shopping Center in Monterey is exactly the same. I'm guessing they're working on commission. I love good customer service, but this place tends to make my blood pressure soar. LOL, I Just Have to Add: I was in the store getting gifts and stocking stuffers yesterday, and there was a customer returning some stuff. The girl at the register seemed really unfriendly towards her - not outright, but her face said it all. Must've been a bad day. But Christmas is the best time to come here, IMO. They have the most amazing scents. read more

This store is located in the Capitola Mall by Sears and Payless, just FYI because I had to call and ask. The associates here are so nice! I feel bad because my dumb butt did a couple of But 2 get 1 free offers when the other offer was better. I went back the next day to return and rebuy everything and the employees were so nice and helpful about it. Stars are for recently former manager Megan, who is amazing BTW and it's a shame the district manager is mean to everyone and makes her staff quit, anywho I experienced the worst customer service from an acting manager Celina..I think that's how it's spelt..I was returning a product and she went to the screen and shoved her associate out of the way to override the actual return price..When I called her out on it she denied doing it, once she walked away her associate says, she did change the price, I'm so sorry. Really?! Anyway glad she is gone and it seems the girls there now are pretty friendly, but to bad Megan left. read more

I enjoyed going to Bath and Body Works today. Staff was very nice. Angelica helped me find what I was looking for. I didn't just leave happy. I also left the store with some great coupons. I really like this shop, I had received some Candles as a Christmas gift, I loved them so much that I went to the store in Capitola to get some more..The store was very festive and the Sales help was very helpful ,the store clean and organized..I found what I wanted and they were on Sale..I love the candles they are nicely scented,burn clean and last for a long time, what more do you want from a Candle..I would recommend this business and I have become a repeat customer... read more

Love the store, especially their candles, but most of the girls are WAY too pushy. They literally will not leave you alone. I was trying to take my time choosing candles, and one of the employees hovered over me the entire time, saying "Have you decided yet? How about now? Have you picked one? You should get more, that's not enough! Ready to check out?" I understand you want to be a top seller, but enough of the harassment! read more

Everything is nice and organized. But in my experience the sales associates are a little too much in your face. There is a fine line between friendly and welcoming. And being pushy and following customers around the store. I know they have a sales goal. Everyone does but let you customer shop without being hassled and if they have a question they know where to find you. read more

I went into this store the other day and was really unpleased with my visit. I went in and was looking to do their deal where you buy three products and you get two for free. I asked one of the associates to help me pick out a scent because I have only purchased gifts for my daughters and grandchildren in there. This time I decided to pick a few things up for myself. The young lady seemed very happy to help. She was very petite, fair, with the ends of her hair were very light and she was wearing a very heavy amount of make up. She began showing me a few scents that I was not fond of and then told me she would be back and proceeded to walk away where I saw her walk into a messy looking back room and begin texting on her phone. I waited for her to come back out, but walked further into the backroom and was nowhere to be seen. I waited around in hopes that she would come back out and continued to smell around. There was only one other associate in the store at the time that was with another shopper. Once she had finished with the shopper, the associate asked me if I needed help with anything. I told her what had happened and she sincerely apologized and offered to help me. She was tall with dark wavy hair and glasses. We managed to pick out a scent which is just divine! Just as she rang me up the other girl came back out and still had her cell phone in in her hand. I really wish I would have tried to contact the manager. I don't think it is appropriate for an associate to leave a customer before they have finished helping them or their fellow associate alone to be on their phone.
