I love Bath and Body Works....but I don't like it's located in Southland Mall...sadly, the place has changed drastically from when I worked in the mall and rarely go these days due to "riff raff" that ruin it for the rest of us. Now now don't get on my case...it is what it is....sad! In any case, this location is organized with friendly staff. Of course always best to visit when they first open to have a better shopping experience. Fortunately, Bath & Body Works was having a sale so bought a bunch of hand soaps, sanitizers as gifts for staff at a care home. My uncle has been there a month and wanted to say thank you for their kind care Great option for gifts! My favorite scent is Champagne Toast or any natural scent like citrus, eucalyptus as it's light, and not overly perfume-y since I tend to be sensitive to strong perfume scents. Guaranteed headache! Kudos to one staff member I'll assume is the manager as she "acted like a boss"...professional, efficient, friendly. It's a decently sized Bath & Body Works located inside a mall. I went during their winter semi-annual sale. Selection was alright, mostly some off season goods from the summer and some things from the Christmas season that didn't sell out. Other than that pickings were a bit slim and the shop itself was in a bit of a disarray, but it was towards the end of the night to be honest. I think my main issue was that it felt like the store had its heat cranked up SUPER hot. I was sweating like a pig and had to take off my sweater and started to feel ill. My boyfriend ended up carrying my purse and I even heard the workers complaining that there was something wrong. It was at least 10 degrees hotter inside the store than it was in the entire mall. A sale. So the sale was buy one candle at regular price, get another one for free.... A bargain.....I got 4 total. Got 2 for my husband, Fresh Basalm. Smells like pine! MMM. Takeaways from today's visit *Good sale on candle *Friendly staff, very welcoming of customers coming in, very helpful for customers and their question. *Plexi Glass shields install at all registers, a limit of people going in and outside the store. *Very clean appearance well organized in the store of course this store always was organized so it does not surprise me. Worst customer service I've ever experienced in any of the bath and body works stores. The store manager Veronica especially, she tired to tell me I couldn't use a coupon when I just saw one of her employees allow one of the customers to use it, and because I couldn't load up the email because the service in that store was so bad and they didn't want to except the screen shot that I had. I really like this B&BW/White Barn location. The Southland Mall location is a lot bigger than NewPark Mall's location and, because of this, it has more inventory and they seem to get more new items before the one at Newark. Today, we had to come here for their annual Candle Sale which is one day only. We went to this location because it opened at 6am while the one at NewPark didn't open until 7am. We definitely dragged ourselves out of bed to get our shop on this morning. I like how they were prepared and had a huge selection of candles out for today. I guess I wasn't the only one who chose to go to this store because the line was a mile long right before the opening and the same for checking out. It was a rainy night and morning but it didn't stop candle lovers in the East Bay from getting their bargains on. I need more patience shopping during the holidays because B&BW have a lot of seasonal temp workers and some of them are not very familiar with the scents and all the items that B&BW carries. It's not easy to rate their employees because your experience can change from day to night depending on who you get but I have always have good experience shopping, exchanging and returning items here. I especially love how they have clear gift bags, boxes, ribbons and tags for free right outside by their products. One Hot Tip: When there's a good deal at their store and they do not have the scent/color/style you like, buy it at the sale price and you can always exchange it for the ones you want after the sale. You do need to have your receipt and the product has to be unused and in perfect condition. B&BW is notorious for having a huge sale and then putting the new collection out a few days later, right after the sale.Also, the cashiers usually ask for your e-mail address when you shop and if you want to get awesome coupons in your inbox, it's best to give them your contact info. This B&BW is located close to the Food Court right across from Victoria's Secret/PINK. read more

I went here with my brother sometime around Christmas and recieved great service. The lady that helped us was very friendly and knowledgeable about the products. Though I was rung up with a couple items comign out as regular price rather than the 75% off price they were suppose to be, I caught the mistake while I was still at the counter and the lady quickly took care of the problem refunding the difference to me. I was actually very impressed with the service I got. Working in customer service myself I know how strenuous it can be to be the only one on the floor helping numerous customers with a smile on my face. Especially during Christmas! -2 stars for Lack of staff; sometimes feels like a ghost store. A fully product-stocked store but often with the one employee in the back room or behind the counter. When there are salespeople on the floor, they're always courteous and inviting. Ideally I think you need one person at the register and two on the floor. Good selection and they seem to have the same promos other stores have. Wait till they have their Buy 3, Get 3 Free promos. And take advantage of promos like the one they're having now (May 2012) where when ordering online, if you make a $40 purchase, when you pay another $20 you get a gift bag full of fragrance items ($100 value). I bought the med-sized Turquoise Waters candles with three wicks for even burning and a strawberry lemon liquid hand soap to replace the winter cranberry one I received for Christmas awhile ago. I went there for Chritmas shopping the other day and the workers there were very helpful. My daughter and wife is their fans and I have purchased more than $2000 worth products in the past 3 years. One of the worse terrible service from franchise stores. I bought 2 items a month ago with my visa gift card and trying to return it in a week but encountering nightmare thereafter. Since I have threw away my gift card after I emptied it, so I request not to refund to the card and problem arise. They didn't know what to do but called their CSC and took them 20 mins but problem still can't be solved. First, employee Marissa said will call me back later the day but failed. Two days later CSC called and said is weekend and should get back to me after the weekend but no call received at all. So I have to call the shop back l4 days later to get update but failed to reach Marissa but spoke to one of the shop managers named Octavio and he also said will call me back in 5 days. Of course, no one contact me again as promise and I call again today, Octavio then inform me that now CSC will take over the case and told him will follow up with me but of course is another empty promise. So u request to just take the product back but he said NO. He suggested me to contact their CSC directly. At the end I asked if they can mail me back my receipt and surprising he said NO again and the only option I have is to pick up from his shop in Southland. Ridiculous and so disappointed. The bath and body works at southland mall has nice and helpful people willing to assist you with your purchase. I'm quite happy with their aromatherapy products, especially "energy" it's some concoction of orange and ginger scents. They have shampoos, conditioners, body wash, etc. The one turn off is the coupon and discount structure. I recommend that you get that squared away before you walk in, otherwise you can't get any better deal... luckily I was able to find a coupon code with my cell phone while still in the store; it wasn't that difficult to find -- in less than 2 minutes I found a $10 off of you spend $30. Yes, 1/3 off.... now you'd think they can improve the shopping experience and encourage sales better without all that hoop jumping. Not to mention stress... Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the sales staff, they are all wonderful and following store policy. read more
