The shop itself was really nice and tidy. Bonus points on the "secret" room that had some gaming stuff like pool table, mini arcade area and some board games. I say secret because the connecting door is hidden as one of the shelves. He let us take our time in the room that is actually an adjoining room to his shop that has its own entrance/exit door. We could have also bought food from next door and the shop offers drinks. They have different events every month. Really neat shop, close to lots of other neat businesses like coffee and ice cream shops.

I went with my son and some friends, and we all want to go back for a girl's night out. You get to choose your candle container, number of wicks and scents. They recommend choosing 3 scents and there are a lot of scents to choose from! They were helpful with helping us decide which ones went well together. The other side is a gaming lounge/bar with self-pour taps, which is pretty neat. You can serve yourself beer and wine after getting a card from the front desk. The classes were successful, bringing customers into the store and creating a fun community event. I was excited to support another woman-owned business. I received one payment in February 2026 for approximately four weeks of lessons. After that, I continued teaching throughout March, April, and May. Despite repeated requests for payment, I was given various reasons for the delay and assured that payment was coming. I even offered to accept installment payments if that would help. Unfortunately, payment never arrived. For months, I attempted to resolve this matter privately through texts, phone calls, in-person conversations, and follow-up requests. I ultimately sent a certified demand letter, which was received, yet I am still awaiting payment for services that were provided months ago. I take responsibility for not having a more detailed written agreement in place. However, I firmly believe that when work is completed as agreed, payment should be made in a timely manner. I do not write this out of anger. I simply want to be paid for the work I performed. My hope is that Coastal Elements will honor its commitment and resolve this matter without further action.

Unfortunately, the person who answered my call Saturday morning was extremely rude, condescending, and unpleasant. I was very disappointed, especially after supporting Kuhn's for so many years. To be treated that way during such an important holiday was truly disheartening. Because of that experience, I decided to order from Dinsmore Florist instead. Their website allowed me to see actual photos of the flowers I was ordering, and they delivered my mom's flowers in a timely, courteous, and professional manner. They have now gained a new customer.
