The worst experience of my life in a retail store. I left the shop in tears the manager was so…read moredisrespectful and unprofessional. I went in to exchange an item she lied to me and said the computer system would not allow it. That I must have an account and she must be able to see it in my account or I have to have a receipt bc "the computer just can't do it". She told me I could not get a refund even though I just wanted to exchange. She insinuated I stole the items and spoke loud enough for the entire store to hear. To the point where employees from the back of the store came to the front to join in. I honestly felt like she gave me hard time because I came in dressed down (hair not done) with my husband and we are in an intercultural relationship. I only mentioned that because I do feel like that played a part in how she treated me and maybe if I looked different it would have gone differently. That's just my perspective and i wanted to include it in my review bc I feel strongly about it playing a part in her attitude towards me specifically. I told her I know she was not being honest and I felt she just didn't want to do my exchange bc she didn't want it to affect her making her goal (the store looked very slow). The employee who was helping me was going to do it and was still trying to help until she stepped in like she had a personal vendetta against me. The manager was acting like I was trying to take money from her purse by asking for a simple exchange. She printed out a blank receipt and showed me the back where it said no refunds, I asked her to let me read it. She didn't want to but after I asked her repeatedly I showed her that in the back of the receipt it explicitly states no refunds. It says nothing about not being able to exchange. She told me to call corporate bc it doesn't matter she's not going to do it. It was just very frustrating for her to lie to my face and makeup reasons why she can't do it instead of being honest and just saying she didn't want to [bc they have the right to refuse service to anyone]. Instead she just kept making up excuses like my item not having a tag even though it was never opened and in the box. I was going to make a purchase but I felt personally attacked and disrespected. So even though my husband called to have my polish thinner placed on hold and insisted on buying it. I told him I didn't not want to support the business and give any money toward her goal. I then turned around and left. After I left the store I could hear the manager loudly laughing at me. Loud enough I could hear her though the glass in the parking lot. It truly infuriated me and put a damper on my outing with my husband. It almost makes me want to never return to another Sally Beauty this was just so traumatic. l definitely will not go back to this location. I didnt ask for her name in all the chaos (even though I should have) she was a tall, heavy set, [maybe Hispanic] lady with a medium to fair complexion. I went to this exact Sally's location maybe a few months prior to do a return and she wasn't working, I was able to do the return with no issues. She also insinuated that my items were dirty when only one item (I wanted to return a defective brush and an unopened toner) showed signs of normal use [she kept making shady comments about my brush]. It made me feel really bad and judged. It was so humiliating it was like she was purposely going out of her way to try and embarrass me in front of my husband and the rest of the store. When I left I started crying and I just threw away my items bc they already caused me so much distress and I didn't even want my money back anymore. The way it was said was rude, unnecessary, and unprofessional. At that point, I asked for Chris. She told me--very bluntly--that he no longer works at this location and is now at Twain. That was the moment I knew I would not be returning. The current staff does not acknowledge customers, lacks professionalism, and does not provide the level of service I was used to. I have spent a lot of money at this location, but after this encounter, I will not be spending another dollar here. Chris, I truly appreciate the respect and kindness you showed every time I visited. You are the reason I was a loyal customer. As long as this location continues to employ staff with poor attitudes and no respect for customers, I will not return.
