I came to batter and berries to enjoy some breakfast and they did not disappoint. I had the flight of French toast and it was perfect. I love that I was able to try every flavor. I absolutely loved the lemon. It had to be my favorite flavor, but I truthfully loved them all and really enjoyed the different types. I also got a side of eggs and chicken breast. I requested a chicken breast rather than strips and they were able to accommodate me my boyfriend had an omelette. I believe it was the green city one I'm not 100% sure but he really enjoyed it as well. It was a casual dining restaurant and the service was quick and they were very polite. I would recommend this place and for sure would return when I'm back in town.

This is my second time in Chicago and the one thing I will definitely miss the most is batters and berries. The last time I was here I stumbled upon it's original location and the breakfast left me mind blown. The French toast flight will make you think twice about your diet... The place is small, intimate and welcoming to complement their amazing food. Their staff is always fast and attentive make it so you feel like you're having breakfast at your local diner.

This franchise came highly recommended by everyone we asked for breakfast recommendations from. This location was close to our hotel, and within walking distance. Our server name was Hailie (I'm hoping I spell her name right) but she was great. We ordered the French toast flight, traditional breakfast, a piece of fried catfish, a breakfast wrap and side of fruit. On the flight, I preferred the blueberry French toast! The lemon was creamy, but I think if I used syrup it would've been top tier. The catfish was fried to perfection, and they had a homemade hot sauce or buffalo sauce that was paired with it, it was soooo good!! The rest of the meal was good, typical breakfast items. I would try the franchise again if back in Chicago for sure.

Batter & Berries offers an incredible dining experience, though street parking can be tricky since they are usually busy. Be sure to ask your server about their secret, off-menu options. The seafood omelet and pancakes are absolutely awesome and highly recommended! Not a huge resturant however plenty of space id definitely call ahead if its weekend.

Batter & Berries just doesn't miss! Enjoyed the specialty omelette they had during my visit in May. Everything was SO good we had to go back twice before we left Chicago to head back home. The French toast flight is great especially if you want to taste multiple and is great for easy sharing. We definitely appreciated the service each time. Its waiters during our visits were accommodating and attentive to our needs/requests. Very casual ambiance and great for couples or families. During both visits there wasn't a long wait so we were thankful!

1/2 order Bourbon apple pie French toast, eggs, bacon

We came in with 10 people and were able to be seated right away. The waiter was great. The French toast flights were amazing. A few people got those, most everyone got French toast of some sort. I had the bourbon apple pie French toast 1/2 order. It was delicious! The whipped butter with maple syrup (I think) was really good. We didn't need butter or syrup on the French toast, but had to have some of the butter on it because it was so good. This place was just a little cramped but was constant with people coming in/out. If in the area again, I would definitely go back.

It started out with a FREE street parking spot (the whole area out front is unmetered) so we were excited that this will be an easy place to revisit. The interior is bright and sunny and we were greeted warmly. There were a bunch of specials but because it was our first visit, we wanted to try the regular menu. The French toast flight and breakfast wrap came out and looked awesome. They tasted great as well. Portions were good sized and everything was served quickly. Service was really kind and genuine. We will definitely return!

Disappointing. Server offered Catfish only to learn they did not have any. While the French Toast flight was tasty, I had to send it back due to every piece being cold. They put it in the microwave to reheat it. I would not return or recommend.

Chicken and waffles, shrimp jambalaya omelette, and brownie french toast

Chicken and Waffles were perfect! The waffle is lightly sweet with cinnamon like spices. The chicken breast has a mild herb seasoning the hot sauce I got on the side and it was perfect for dipping the chicken breast. There are small pieces of chicken inside the waffle. Good serving size for $20. My boyfriend also got a side dish that came with a salmon croquette, a shrimp with a jambalaya omelette and brownie French toast. It was a small serving size for $30. The service was ok and the wait was only 15 minutes at the most. (It wasn't crowded) Ambiance was nice, it's a small restaurant probably could use some decorating.

Food was good. Service was okay. Wait time for food was kind of long. Potatoes weren't made crispy as requested and the omelette needed to be cooked longer.

This was the best French toast I've ever had! And our server was great, he was very funny and friendly and made the whole experience very memorable. I would highly recommend going here!

I actually liked the food here. We got there as soon as it opened but it got busy really fast. A friend of mine invited me to come and told us getting there right at open is the best time to beat the crowds. It fills up fast and I did see people wait for a long time. It does get loud like your typical eatery and definitely wait a bit more than usual, this is not a fast food place. Now for the food, I liked the French Toast Flight that was recommended to me. The Toadt had a nice subtle crunch, wasn't overly sweet, didn't feel too heavy after biting in, and the presentation was great. I didn't mind the wait as I chatted for awhile. Didn't try anything else though, but honestly I liked it. I guess the only downside is the wait time. Overall get here early for the best experience.

We sat in a cozy table for 2 and the art was a plenty. We had the steak Fajita omelet, the French toast flight (paying a little extra to try ALL the flavors), side of catfish, and the seafood omelet. The Steak Fajitas Omelet was so flavorful. The meat was tender. The eggs were so cheesy. The hash browns were crispy and aplenty. The Seafood omelet was the rockstar that stole the show. There were 3 well sized shrimps sitting on a bed of lump crab meat on top of a fluffy mound of egg white omelet in a savory sauce that you almost want to lick the plate clean. We did order a side of catfish! Just because! Nicely fried with a seasoned breading with a side of hot sauce. To end our meal- we chose to do the super flight of French Toast- blueberry, strawberry, caramel, lemon and the butter cookie (seasonal flavor). I managed to take a bite of each one and I can see why this place is known for its French Toast. The drip coffee was the kind that you just couldn't stop with 1 cup. Our Server- Candace was so delightful as she described the menu and help us choose our meal. We clearly need to come back and try the other delicious food offerings. She made our experience here that much more memorable! She truly cares about her customers and it shows. We cannot wait to come back and support this family owned business.

Delicious, hot, fresh out the pan, well seasoned and wonderful portion sizes. We ordered the classic French toast which hubby said it was good enough to eat without syrup. They were so kind to our family and when they had extra chicken tenders from and order they brought them out to my kids for free. Finally I tried a new drink on the menu pictured below! On a Saturday morning around 11am there was surprisingly no wait but I also think we got the last available table inside. Note here that they do offer outdoor seating. Anyways, we sat smack dab in the middle of the restaurant and got to observe a lot. After sitting a young lady brought waters over to the table. I asked her a quick question but she noticeably had AirPods in and didn't respond. I was just looking for the bathroom but I found it myself. It was clean and well stocked. Our waitress was nice. Attentive and present. We ordered the 2+2+2+2 and a Moons over Miami sandwich. The food took less than 10 minutes to arrive and everything was very hot. My mom and I both enjoyed our breakfast. I personally really enjoyed the French toast. I thought the portions were filling. At the end we were asked if we'd be paying by cash or card. A ticket was never presented but we were just verbally told an amount. I thought that was kind of odd. We chose cash because you get a discount. We asked again what the total was and she again just verbally told us and then took the cash. We had exact change but I still think it was weird to not have a visual. Overall, this was a great meal and an overall good experience. I'd add this to your list of breakfast spots to try in the area.
