Let me start by saying the good reviews don't do this place justice. Here are just a few perks outside of the food. Parking on site, excellent wait staff, family friendly, clean, accommodating, working clean high chairs, and fresh to order food. The ambiance was pleasant and the place is bright and inviting there are tables and booths available. It is handicapped and stroller accessible. Now to the food!!! Delicious, hot, fresh out the pan, well seasoned and wonderful portion sizes. We ordered the classic French toast which hubby said it was good enough to eat without syrup. My oldest (11h had the Oreo French toast and said it was better than good! The Oreo cream on top was his fave! I had the blue your own breakfast with gas over hard, bacon and pancakes! Listen ihop has NOTHING on how good these pancakes were. Crispy edges, buttery and golden brown! Food was baby approved as my picky toddler ate without hesitation everything he was offered! They were so kind to our family and when they had extra chicken tenders from and order they brought them out to my kids for free. Finally I tried a new drink on the menu pictured below! It was an Auga Fresca with apple and lemonade and came with the cutest flower garnish! Delicious and refreshing. I can't say enough about this gem! We will be coming back! Like tomorrow! I randomly tried this place after asking Siri for "nearby breakfast spots," and am SO GLAD that I did! They have a great (but not overwhelmingly large) menu with standard Mexican offerings like chilaquiles, standard American options, as well as French crepes. I had the Berry Crepes, and a side of bacon. Not only were the crepes delicious (and with fresh fruit), but for a little breakfast spot in a strip mall I was VERY surprised by the beautiful presentation. I'm not someone who typically takes pictures of food, but I had to take a picture this time! The bacon was cooked just the way I like it, a little crispy + a little chewy = perfection. They do kind of crank the AC, and even as person who likes it a little chilly, I was a tad cold. But that's a very minor thing, and it would never prevent me from recommending this hidden gem! This is my daughter's favorite place so she requested to eat here for her birthday brunch. The service was great, very casual, friendly and prompt. My daughter ordered a mini churro waffle, my wife ordered their chilaquiles and I ordered their biscuits and gravy. The churro waffle was actually pretty good and spot on tasted like a churro with ice cream and syrup on top. My wife's enchiladas were delicious as well. A very filling this. My biscuits and gravy came with two eggs on top with a side of breakfast potatoes. The potato's were ok, but the hash browns looked a lot better and should have asked for a substitute. Let's start with the food part it was good but they need to work a bit harder on bringing the food all at once as they brought us the food in parts. It was a bit busy when we came to eat here and our server forgot about us for a bit but it was ok as we aren't too pushy with that as we can see if it's busy we are very understanding. Tried this spot because the food looked great. The chicken tenders (not pieces) were tough. The churro waffle comes with ice cream and caramel and that was amazing! I was kind of disappointed with my experience at The Churro Waffle. Service and the pumpkin horchata latte (which has two shots of espresso) were excellent (and I would stop by for the latte if I happen to be nearby). But the butcher's bowl and the berry waffle left something to be desired. The butcher's bowl was 90% potatoes and barely any meat or vegetables. For almost $20, that was a complete waste of money. I dont like doing this but I dont think its something I can not address. Thank churro waffle for ruining my fathers day. I went to pick up food for the family knowing it was going to be busy. I was prepared for that. I was not prepared for the host to deliberately look past me and ask the person behind me if they needed help. I dont want to assume it was a racial thing but I was not the same ethnicity as the host of the person I was ignored for. I felt like the smallest person in that entire restaurant and I despite this I actually have pretty thick skin. After she was very cordial with the other person, I finally had to address her and she just said "Uber?" I said no, picking up my own food. She then walked and didnt talk to me again. Again, I get it. They were busy. Busy doesnt make racism and rudeness ok. Dont know if that was her intention but its how she made me feel. To top it off, they forgot part of the order. Im not mad. I took a walk when my clothes were in the washer at Mr Bubbles that's close to Churro Waffle. I bought breakfast and ate some of it. I paid them and tipped the server and asked to come back after I put the clothes in the dryer. They covered my plate and coffee. They were so nice. This is a belated review of a visit at noon on a Saturday in late April: Located in a small shopping plaza, it's not much on the outside, but - big pro for me - boasts a parking lot. Inside is a family-friendly more modern diner-esque (but slightly more crowded) vibe. There was a bit of a wait for a table for 4 on Saturday - nothing too long though. And yes, the wait was well worth it. I'm a savory brunch lover - so much so I usually forgo the sweets which can be too much for me, unless it's a well-done combo. The Bacon Waffle (substituted in Churro Waffle) with the Sea Salt Caramel Ice Cream on the side (so it wouldn't get soggy and I could control the ratio) was a PEFRECT BLEND OF SAVORY AND SWEET and will definitely have me coming back when I'm next in the area. Besides my beloved Bacon Waffle, we ordered the Chicken Churro Waffle, Steak Fajita Bowl, Eggs Benedict, Lox Benedict, Carnitas Benedict, and Hibiscus Lemonade (sweet and refreshing), and a Horchata Iced Coffee (very good)! It's official, I'm breaking up with Churro Waffle. I used to come here once 2-3 times a month but their prices have gotten so out of control, it has gone beyond what is reasonable. The suddenly jump in prices in a couple of months is so weird. On my most recent visit, our meal came out to over $60. The same meal that used to cost less than $40 and included coffee. I could understand blanket rising of prices but to raise the price and then charge $4 for ingredients that used to be included is beyond me. They have literally lost all sense of reality. Inflation is a real thing. But to give less food, less options, and charge 33% more. It just doesn't seem sustainable. Condiments like sour cream used to be and additional $.75 and now it's $2. When I used to go to Churro, it would be jam packed. We'd have to wait in the car to waiting for a table to open up and it was worth it. I went last Sunday and it was unseasonably warm... perfect brunching weather. The restaurant was half full and I think I know why. With the prices being upped so high, it just makes sense to go to a nicer restaurant. The prices are the same, food is better, and ambiance is perfect. But, I didn't have to wait very long maybe 10 minutes. The ambiance was nice and my host was very nice. The food was good. No complaints at all about Churro Waffle. My husband got the Nora's French toast which was good but again not as good as the churro waffle. And I don't even like churros! Nice inviting breakfast spot with yummy food and great service. My grandparents came to Chicago for the weekend and luckily restaurants had just opened back up for indoor dining. The four of us in the party each ordered an entree. My brother got the eggs Benedict, I got the chorizo burrito and my grandparents both got the southwest omelette (I think that's what it was called) Food was good and came out not too fast but not too slow either.
