    Breakfast Panini

Staff was very friendly and welcoming. As soon as we were seated our server greeted us with a smile. There were so many excellent looking options to order but decided on the breakfast panini. It was simple, delicious and a big serving. The French fries were also some of the best fries I've ever had.

I heard about this spot and I was so excited, I waiting an hour till they opened. I picked the Banana Coconut Cream Pie Pancakes. They had banana cream filling, a generous amounts of bananas, toasted coconut, cookie crumbles and caramel. Troy was my server and it was busy from the word go, so he was taking care of several tables. I let him know I was ready to order. So, when the plate of pancakes came I was so excited. It was tasty on the outset, but as I tried to find the banana cream filling, it was a small dollop in between each pancake. I guess I had something else in mind. They were tasty and I did enjoy it, but the crunchy coconut made it taste somewhat dry. My coffee was very good. I really enjoyed the Hazelnut Latte. I think next time I would order an ala cart amount of pancakes, so I could actually finish it. It was a good experience overall.

Was really excited to see all the "gluten friendly" stuff on their menu, only to be told their GF pancakes are made on the same griddle as all the regular ones and cross-contamination risk is high. Asked if they could make it separately in a pan and was told no. What's the point of having them on the menu if Celiacs can't eat them? Guess I wasn't missing out on much since the two pancakes others ordered were said to be way too sweet. I got the omelette with bacon ham and cheddar and it was well cooked and a large portion except I did bite into some egg shells. Also got double fruit portion as a side and it was fine. Their iced coffee is pretty decent too. Definitely some hits and some misses here.

We had a great experience on Thursday 4/9/26. I came across this place while watching some YouTube videos while doing research for our Chicago trip. We got lucky that there was no wait at 8:30. As we left at 9:15 there were quite a few people waiting in line. Service was stellar, especially our young waitress. All the food was delicious: pancakes (easily shareable), side of bacon, and eggs benedict with hash browns. My wife's hot coffee and my iced coffee were tasty. Prices were fair.

Walked up and were sat pretty quickly without a reservation. The service was excellent very knowledgeable and helpful and suggested great options! I had the brisket hash with the specialty pancakes and it was amazing, the portions are large so definitely enough to share, the ambiance was that of any cafe/breakfast spot; had indoor and outdoor seating, also very close/across the street from the bean and millennium park so made for a great start to the day

Very, very popular, Wildberry is apparently the place to have breakfast in Chicago based alone on the lines and sheer volume of customers. Came on Easter Sunday brunch and there was an entire mass of people filling the sidewalks waiting. You can only enter the waitlist in person and can only be seated if all members are there. That said, Wildberry turns over incredibly quick. Easter Sunday around 11:30am was a 25-min wait and the food is served very fast. The tables are also cleaned very fast, be sure to grab what you're taking with you so you don't lose a milk, as my son found out. For as fast as it is though, the food is good. Crispy hashbrown, plenty of meat or cheeses, eggs done just as you asked and specialty pancakes such as oreo, cookie dough, or fruity pebbles. The orea s'mores pancake was very sugary and sweet but the skillets were great choices.

My favorite breakfast spot. Usually there is a long queue, but my friend and I were lucky to walk in without any wait this time. I might be a little biased, but I always find the breakfast here delicious and fresh. This time we ordered the gingerbread chai latte, Firehouse chili and cheddar omelet, avocado toast with a side of hashbrowns and a mocha, and a stack of blueberry pancakes. Everything was really good. The service was very quick, and the place is spacious with a lot of seating. Overall, it's a great spot for breakfast.

This is Chicago brunch staple that was highly recommended! Wildberry has your favorite brunch classics with pancake and other breakfast specialities. Of course I had to try their pancakes, so I got the two eggs any style platter with turkey sausage, hash browns, and scrambled eggs. I ordered the signature berry bliss for an up-charge. Everything tasted really good, including the lavender matcha latte I ordered for my hot drink. I love a good brunch restaurant, and this met my expectations!

At my hotel, I asked my AI app where to go for breakfast, and Wildberry looked to be a very popular recommendation because of their food and proximity to Millennium Park (and the Bean). I was a little worried about line-ups, but we were there early on a Friday morning, so there was no line up, but still very busy. It's a very large space, and looks like a typical breakfast-focused restaurant. I ended up ordering the Chicago Benedict, just because I know I wouldn't be able to get it at home. It was OK. There was nothing special about the Italian Beef they used, but the giardiniera was quite hot and spicy which added some dimension. One of my friends ordered the specialty pancakes, which was a huge portion size (easily feed 2 people). It tasted fine, but other than portion size, nothing too remarkable. Service was fast and friendly. No complaints. Overall, it was an OK visit. I think every city has a popular pancake/breakfast place like this one and it serves a purpose. The food was satisfactory, but for me, not memorable.

The high reviews praising this spot are completely warranted. During my last visit, I ordered the Mexicana skillet with a side of the signature berry bliss pancakes. My husband ordered the corned beef hash skillet with a side of the cinnamon roll pancakes. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were especially blown away by the pancakes. The pancakes themselves are so fluffy and the toppings on them were *chefs kiss*. Each order was super filling and I honestly think it could be shared among two people. We came on a Saturday morning about an hour after they opened and the waitlist was already 1.5 hours long, so be prepared to wait. Service was friendly but a bit slow. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating and the ambiance is casual.

Always love it when we come here. It's one of these stops we have to make whenever we visit Chicago. Service is amazing, quick, and the food never fails. Portions are gigantic so I would suggest sharing different plates

Everything we tried was delicious! Plain Buttermilk Pancakes (4): Lightly dusted with powdered sugar, these set the foundation of something glorious! Light and fluffy with good flavored batter. Literally anything you put on these will be good! Butcher Skillet (4.5): For the meat lover, this skillet is a protein dream. All melted together with egg and cheese. Mexicana Skillet (5): My favorite! Jalapenos added a nice kick and the Chorizo was on point! Not to mention other skillet stuff like egg, cheese and crispy has browns. This one was delicious! Wild Mushroom Omelette (4): Pretty decently sized omelette. Mushrooms were good. Not too crazy on the flavor profile but good if you like mushrooms (surprise!). Cinnamon Roll Pancakes (5): Of all the toppings that go with their buttermilk pancakes, this was my favorite! Tasted just like a cinnamon roll! Not too sweet either. Just light and fluffy pancakes with cinnamon roll flavors! Loved it! Blueberry Danish Pancakes (4): Don't get me wrong... these were terrific! Blueberries were awesome! I made the mistake of eating the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes first though so these sort of paled in comparison. They're good though! Cookie Dough Waffle (4): Didn't really know what to expect here but it was good! Waffle was light and crispy at the same time and the toppings just drove that cookie flavor home. This was the kids favorite. Signature Berry Bliss Crepes (4): Very good. Berry flavor galore! Sort of like a large blintz. If you like berries, this ones for you! Overall we really enjoyed our brunch. We tend to share everything so we can try a lot of stuff. Literally everything was well executed here. Really just depends on what you are in the mood for. On this visit, that Mexicana Skillet and the Cinnamon Roll Pancakes did it for me. Excellent job!

Excellent brunch at Wildberry - the restaurant was very busy, lively, and they have a ton of seating so the wait was still quick! We were checked in on by our waitress for plenty of coffee refills. We mentioned we were celebrating a graduation and we were given complimentary banana chocolate bread! I ordered the vegan breakfast hash which was awesome, the house made vegan patties were tasty and filling, and hash browns were crispy. The yogurt bowls friends got looked beautiful topped with fresh berries. We left full and happy, will make sure to return on the next Chicago trip!

Hanabusa Cafe is a restaurant which offers soufflé pancakes and specialty drinks. Unlike in Japan where soufflé pancakes are eaten for breakfast, this is more of a dessert cafe, especially since Hanabusa opens at 9am. The place itself isn't too big and the revolving entrance door placement is a bit misleading since it is off to the side appearing to go into another business. Although tables and chairs are available, ordering is done at the register and I wouldn't exactly classify this as a sit down restaurant. I arrived on a Thursday just after noon and there were a couple parties already dining in. I ordered the earl gray and sea salt caramel soufflé pancake and was told the wait would be around twenty minutes, which was fine since I wasn't in a hurry. This arrived at the table and had earl grey tea sauce under whipped cream and sliced strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. The pancakes were denser than I expected but the earl gray sauce was definitely the star of the dish (and the main reason I ordered this); the flavor was evident without overpowering the rest of the ingredients or adding too much sweetness. The whipped cream seemed like filler, the caramel made the dish a little too sweet, and the slice fruit added flavors to the plate. Luckily I was looking at the fruit before eating since I found a pointy stem sticking out of one of the blueberries. I also didn't notice the sea salt flavor in the mix of everything on the plate. Otherwise, the plate composition was not bad. Hanabusa Cafe is a nice place that offers something unique in the area. However, I do not think it is worth coming out of your way for since the execution could be improved, especially with the removal of stems from the fruit.

I would assume a place where the newest thing since the 1980s is the security camera would have vinyl with more cracks and patina than my trusty old leather jacket! But no, it's in fantastic shape. Especially given that, the vibe in here is awesome! It's like stepping through a time-portal. For food, I ordered an old favorite: Pigs in Blankets. The food came out fast, though, to be fair, there was only one other person dining in at the time. The sausage links were crisp, and the pancakes were lightly sweet and fluffy. All in all, great! While perhaps not enough to summon the Michelin Guide inspectors, it was better than the average greasy spoon. Finally, I really appreciate that the prices are reasonable, and that there is parking! Final verdict: I've had a small handful of spectacular breakfasts. I've also had criminal breakfasts, where two unsalted eggs, two bacon strips, and a tablespoon of potatoes costs $14.95. Golden House Restaurant & Pancake House finds itself in that sweet spot in between - it is neither a spectacular spot (often have prices to boot), nor is it an overpriced, underwhelming greasy spoon that stays in business thanks to regulars who have been coming for decades and don't want anything better.
