Went in for a specialty battery for a stair lyft. Guy working was outside playing on his phone n vaping something. He seemed annoyed he had to come in. This is the worst ran business in this town. To start off, store was closed by employees to get lunch. Nothing said on the page about being closed for lunch. Second, the staff does not know how to do simple tasks such as pulling online orders for pickup. Had to call another employee to ask how to find my order and then was told to wait 10-15 until that employee got to work to find my order. In store employees did not know how to take custody of a batter that was required to stay over night to be charged to determine if it was covered under warranty...just a shit show. read more

This is my second negative experience with Batteries Plus, 607 Elgin Parkway NE, Ft Walton Beach Fl-. The previous time the store was closed for lunch while 2 employees were inside. I returned today 11/15/24 to purchase a new generator battery and some flashlight batteries. I was met by an employee who told me I had to leave the store as there was a computer upgrade in progress and to come back in 30 minutes. I asked for help selecting my battery but was told no. I asked for help removing a stuck battery from a Kel-Light. He told me there was no battery stuke in the light. It was clearly visible. How was argumentative. Another employee a woman looked at it and agreed there was a battery lodged inside. She helped me find my battery. She went to pick up lunch. I was sent outside to wait. A lady arrived and wanted to enter and I explained what I had been told. She was told to come back on Monday to get her husband's watch battery replaced. The employee was a terrible representative of your company. He wanted to do nothing to help anyone. While I was in the parking lot another man entered the store and came out shaking his head. He was also very unhappy. This happened approximately 12 noon. I will not be returning to this store. read more

I really liked all the folks who worked here. I just don't like the glass used to fix iPhones. I had mine done a few months ago and I still can't get used to the amount of pressure that I have to apply to certain areas to get my cursor to move (let's say) in an email. On the edges, I don't even have to touch the phone (just have my finger really close) and it'll click a link or whatever. I know some may say the phone is bent but I had this phone a total of 5.5 months and was told it was bent but as a forgetful woman who has to sit and pee, I do not put my phone in my back pocket. Also the glad feels entirely different. It's the glass. The folks there are super cool. I would put 4 or even 4.5 but this glads is FRUSTRATING and I just can't. My phone suddenly had a green screen on my phone and couldn't get it to go away, couldn't shut off or anything. They fixed it in less than an hour! Definitely will recommend them! read more

After a very unpleasant experience working with one particular employee, and having a sub-par screen replacement, yelp saved the day. I complained directly at the store, but also complained on yelp. I got the attention of the RIGHT employees, who took such good care of me when they discovered I'd had a bad experience. My iPad screen was fixed and replaced in a timely manner - by someone who knew what was causing the view-obstructing grid - and I was treated like a VIP the second time around. I believe it was JAKE who was the technician who went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. He greeted me by name when I walked in the 3rd and/or 4th times, and walked through everything with me until I was satisfied. I may have to still stand by my statement about not buying batteries and lightbulbs here - they are a bit pricier than other vendors - but I would go back if I needed a screen or battery replaced in a device. Just have some conversation with the employee you catch, make sure they seem confident in their abilities, and dedicated to making you a satisfied customer. I would describe most of them this way, I was just unlucky when I walked in and got one (of one, or very few) employee who didn't fit this description. Made an appointment for cellphone repair (replace charging port) as my phone stopped charging while on vacation. I use my cellphone as a work phone too so it was important to get it repaired quickly. Went online and scheduled the appointment for 8:30 am the next morning. The two gentlemen working at the store could not be more personable and pleasant. I explained the issue with my phone and the technician said I may not need a repair after all. He took some tweezers and removed some debris from inside my charge port and it worked perfectly. No charge for the visit either. Great experience and employees. read more

We are tourist, I came here due to my battery being absolutely destroyed. The guy named Jake told me to come in and he will check the phone out. Jake ended up bringing me in, showing me what's wrong with my phone, and showed me additional damage that I had no knowledge of. Super friendly and cooperative, by far the BEST customer service experience I have ever had from any repair shop, even where I am from! read more

Got my phone screen repair here! Very nice employees/customer service. Had my screen repaired in a short amount of time & everything is working perfectly. Had a terrible experience with a warranty battery replacement. The battery died on my car 2x. It was less than 1 yr old! First time it tested at the minimum CCA (on the number in fact) after 2+ days of deep cycle charging. My bad, I should have just jump started the car and drove over there. The customer service rep suggested that next time I should just bring it back dead, at which point they would charge it for 2 hrs and retest it. So this time after the battery died (from the car not being used for ~6 days) I took the battery out and brought it over to the store. An employee named Jake (he was NOT a customer focused so I won't call him a customer service representative) threw the tester on the batter and said its dead. No kidding really?! Then he proceeded to tell me that my car probably drained my battery. Again, no kidding really?! ALL modern cars put a low current drain on their batteries, but modern batteries when working properly are rated for the cars continuous pwr drain and definitely last for more than 1 week. After some words he agreed to charge the battery and test it. 3 hrs later I returned to the store and he did indeed test it and it was 60 CCA below spec! 60 Amps! He then proceeded to tell me that the batter just needs to charge up all the way and it will be fine. His Opinion, NOT Fact!!! At this point our conversation became heated until Doug stepped in and honored the warranty. Jake stayed front & center and continued to try and stare me down to try and intimidate me. Needless to say I had words with him while he was doing this. Even further to say I will NEVER deal with this store as long as they have employees the caliber of Jake working there. Not only were his statements about cars and batteries wrong (BTW I am an ex mechanic and Motor Head), but he was also a terrible representative for the company and eager to have long term customers go to other battery suppliers. Autozone is 1 block away and not only are their prices competitive, but their customer service is 2 orders of magnitude better than Batteries Plus (thanks to the likes of Jake)! read more
