There is no reason not to give them five stars. They do more than sell batteries even though they have all kinds of batteries that are hard to find. They also sell light bulbs, program key fobs, and most importantly repair phones. The store has welcoming feeling, and the customer service is great. Parking is easy, as the parking lot is huge. I was a bit hesitant to swing by here because of some of the negative reviews. But my experience was just fine. In all fairness, I only needed to drop off a box of 10 old fluorescent tube bulbs. It cost 99¢ per bulb but I guess it was worth it to ensure that the toxic bulbs are recycled properly. My iphone 8 plus has been having charge port issues over the last year and I presumed I needed a new charge port. When I brought it in, they noted that "a common issue" is lint/dirt getting trapped in the charge port. The technician used special tweezers and canned air to clean out the port. It worked perfectly. They did not charge me (though I asked to pay them...) This was incredibly kind and ethical. I know in the future I will use this location for all my iphone and computer repairs and battery replacements. read more

I rate this store as top notch. The true character of a business isn't seen when everything goes well but rather when it does't. I went in with an issue they actually advertise being able to take care of. They were friendly and quick to get after my issue however, their efforts went south. My device was actually worse off. After trying all they could they ended up replacing my device. Even though I left with my issue not being fixed, I really felt they showed how they appreciate each customer even when things don't go right. They are honest and straight forward. I purchased a Duracell car battery online to be picked up at this location. I was surprised to receive an email 4 minutes later that stated my battery was ready for store up. When I arrived at the store I was greeted promptly and given a Batteries Plus store brand battery. I was confused I purchased a Duracell...I was told they are the same and made by the same manufacturer. Hmmm are Costco's Kirkland brand batteries the same as Duracell? No! They are less expensive. I asked if there was a price difference and I was told they are the same price. I'm not a fan of the bait and switch. I asked how I could guarantee when I purchase a Duracell online that I would receive a Duracell in the store and I was told again the store brand battery is the same as Duracell. I've been going here since 2015 at least and every time they are helpful and pleasant. Getting the lifetime batteries is a great deal if you have a quality watch. They also recycle all sorts of batteries (for a small fee because they ship to Arizona for recycling), light bulbs, plus make keys, reprogram key fobs, etc. Thank you for keeping these things out of our landfills. read more

I needed an LR44 battery for my digital caliper so of course I went into the Store in Gresham. I saw the 8 pack hanging from the shelf for $3.99. When the young man came from the back, I told him I wanted the pack of LR44s. He then stated they were $3.99 each. WHAT!? I asked him if the price posted was for the pack, he said "Na that's just the price for each.". Then he proceeded to tell me if I bought 3 it would be cheaper. I said just give me one. I made my purchase since I needed to finish a work project fast. When I was done I checked online to see what this battery really cost. I could have gotten a 5 pack from Grainger for $5.89, and that same 8 pack from Amazon for the same $3.99 I just spent for one! That's the last time I shop at Batteries Plus! read more

Went in to return an item that did not work.WARNING!!! THEY HAVE A 14 DAY RETURN POLICY!!! Then the guy said that I had already returned the item on my receipt. Went in because my girlfriend needed a battery for her car garage door opener. Just out if curiosity I asked him if he has high drain 18650 batteries for my vaporizer. He told he if its for a vaporizer he can't sell it. That vaporizer don't use high drain batteries. Then I saw his 18650s and they were all safe for vaping and ones people use all the time. This guy continued to raise his voice and use insults while my girlfriend and her 7 year old son were standing there. The other customers waiting in line were not a concern and he continued to argue his incorrect facts to someone with 10 plus years in electrical engineering.. then refused to show or sell me batteries. Messed up my girlfriends transaction and if we didn't notice he would have charged her incorrectly. In short until they train their staff this is not a safe place to get your batteries. Honestly, I had not heard many good things about our Batteries Plus but I was in a bind today. Ever since the cold snap in Oregon my car was slow to start. So, I get on line and I find somewhere close to my work so I can go have the battery tested on my break. Also, I have a 10% off coupon for Batteries Plus and find out that there is one close to my work... First off, the guy at the counter couldn't help me with my car..he said "oh, the guy that can help you with that will be clocking in about 7 minutes." I don't really have a choice but this isn't how I really wanted to spend my break. So, I wait and the guy comes to check my battery. I explain that I am on my break so I just want to check it and if I need a new one I'll buy one here. So, he proceeds to check the battery, says it has charge but when he put a load on it, it died. Okay, to me that didn't mean a lot...not saying that all females don't understand all the terminology, but I didn't understand that now my battery was DEAD! Before it would start it but it was taking an extra crank, or two. So, we go in and I purchase a Duracell battery for my 2001 Honda Accord. He explains to me that there is a $10 rebate from the manufacturer and I hand him my 10% off coupon...he tells me he can't use that on car batteries. What? It doesn't specify that on there. He said "well, I already applied a coupon that is better than 10% off and I can't use two discounts anyway." Again, the coupon doesn't say ANYTHING to that effect. Anyway, I understand what he is getting at but the rebate is offer from the manufacturer and the coupon is offered by the business?! Right? Totally different! Anyway, I pay for the battery he tells me that will be $20 extra for him to install it. $20 for a less than 5 minute install?? I say, "no, I'll pass...I will put it in when I get home after work". Then I pick up the battery (barely) and I get to walk it to my car. Keep in mind, I am not the biggest person around...I am 4'9" and this battery is HEAVY! Do you think either of the guys working there even held the door for me? Oh...nope!! So, I set it in the back seat, on the floor...get in my car to return to work and my car will NOT start!! So, there I sit...bawling because I do not have $20 to spend on installing it right now and now, I am stranded. About 10 minutes later the guy comes out to see if I needed a jump start? I tried to be nice, I didn't want to bite is head off but I was really upset the he didn't explain to me that my battery is now DEAD and you will have to get it installed. I have to call a friend to come swap the battery out who lives 15 miles away!!! This is how your customer service is? This is unreal. NEVER EVER AGAIN!!! I went in to recycle bulbs and was excited to hear they could replace my forester remote keyless entry. At the time of purchase they said "we can program it for you" but never said the price and I didn't really pay much attention. I thought that was part of the service. so 70.00 for the part and 45.00 to program, I expected an OEM part, but 3 weeks later it arrived (generic), they programed it, and same day it stopped working. They also did not return any of his boxes or paperwork, warranty info when he left. They kept it all. When I attempted to return it, a employee actually stated "this is not the one we sold you" like I was returning a used one. There was a long heated conversation with employee who has horrible breath (it was hard just to speak with her without gagging), since the manager was unavailable. I was told to leave and call back later. Instead I purchased a new one from amazon delivered in 2 days (not 2 weeks) for 22.00 with easy to follow instructions that took less than 5 min to program, and I will let my Credit Card company contact management. read more

I bought a $300 Auto Battery with 60 replacement warranty. within 2 years it crapped out I had to roadside assistant to get home, I tried charging the battery for 14 hrs on 10A and nothing, I took it back to the store and they said it is too dead to test, I told them it would not charge... they said they have to charge it overnight to test, so I left the battery with them and my car is crippled. called the next day and said they couldn't fast charge it and will have to slow charge it before testing and the guy said he would check it before he went home that evening!!! WTF!!! I need my CAR!! what do you mean your going to keep it another DAY!! I am so pissed and carless I could spit nails! it's a warranty on a battery! in my 50 years I have never had a problem returning a battery to any other store and that is what I will do... is go to any other store than Batteries Plus!! read more
