Batteries Plus is THE place to go for anything that even remotely relates to batteries. These guys will solve your problem and make your wallet as happy as you are. I have been to two of their locations in Northern Virginia and have always been impressed by their knowledge and customer service, though this was by far my best experience yet. I had an issue with my Honda key FOB (for those who don't know, it's just the remote lock/unlock key) since the battery died and I could not for the life of me open the key (I even stripped the screw a bit). Hoping that the people here would be wiser/handier than I am, I came to them on a rainy day for help. Not only did they explain why I had such a hard time (Honda uses soft metal on the screws and sprays them with Locktite to ensure you have to come back to them for battery replacement to drum up business, seriously Honda, you suck), they got it open, replaced the battery, and sealed it back up again in less than three minutes. The cost? $7, when it would easily have taken an hour and cost me $30 or more at Honda. There's a reason this chain has been seeing awesome growth and expansion over the years, and experiences like mine DEFINITELY help them keep that going. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH CAR BATTERY! Have to add my voice to the others who have voiced extreme dissatisfaction about Batteries Plus on Midlothian, particularly around car batteries. An Ultra car battery I bought there less than two years ago (had a 5/20 mfr. stamp) went dead (won't charge, reads 7 volts). Took it back this morning and Gerg measured the voltage at under 7 volts. He said before any warranty claim could be filed, it had to go through their charging protocol. Okay, how long will that take? "We can take up to 48 hours". What? Really? So a person without a car is to wait two full days? How ridiculous is that... He then asked what phone number the battery would have been registered under... I explained that the battery had their logo, and the manufacture date, so there's no question that it's their product, and not older than the manufacture date. No good. Unless they have your number in their system, or you have the original receipt, you're out of luck. I explained that when I'm asked for a phone number when I buy something I usually say "unlisted" (which is true) because I don't want the telemarketing calls. But if I had been told it was required for the warranty on an over $200 item that's known to wear out prematurely, I would definitely have given it. Greg said they have a lot of turnover in personnel, and unfortuantely not all do what they're supposed to in explaining things. So, I was stuck and the only thing I could do was buy a new battery. As I was giving my information (so this time I would be able to get warranty) I said I was not happy with their handling of this and would be sharing the information so other's knew their policies. Greg then said "You're threatening me". No, I'm not threatening, you, I'm promising you that I will share what has happened and how this was handled. Again, "You're threatening me". But next was really interesting " If you're threatening me with a bad review, we don't want to do busness with you." So I clarified "So, you're saying you will not sell me a new battery?". His response, "No, go to an auto parts store". Went across the parking lot to O'Reilly Auto with the battery, got a nice "hello" as I came in from the person at the desk, got the replacement battery, and then was asked for my phone number so they could register the battery for any warranty service in the future. I went to Batteries Plus Bulbs because I thought I needed a new battery for my Galaxy S7 phone. I made an appointment online and was greeted by Chris, the store manager, when I arrived. He asked permission to look around in my phone settings, he said, to be sure the battery was, in fact, what I needed. As he looked, he found evidence the issue I was experiencing was more likely to have been caused by a rogue app that was draining power after an update. He suggested that I do a factory reset, adding each app, one at a time so that I could see its affect on the battery. I did this, and have noted marked improvement in the battery life of my phone. I'm thankful for a conscientious store manager who was more interested in resolving my issue than taking my 70 bucks. I'll definitely return for other product needs. read more

I love it when you need a battery they have it. Not crazy about the expertise of some other staff although the last manager I spoke with was extremely knowledgeable. But I am extremely frustrated when I'm walking towards the door, not realizing it's a couple minutes after closing, and employee gives me the finger across the neck signifying they're closed. Went in for batteries which the online inventory said was in stock, got there and nothing available, OK fine, the guy said he can get it from the Hull street store and they will be there the next day. Went to the store the next day and spoke to someone else, who in turn tells me that the person I spoke to didn't say anything to anyone about the batteries, nor ordered what I need and that they would have to order it again. Absolutely horrible internal communication and not focusing on the customer need. Time to take my business elsewhere as that was a total waste of time. I came in yesterday 9/13/18 to get my iPhone 7 screen replaced they replaced the screen but now the color looks all the way washed out and I have to have my brightness on 100% just to see my phone and the associate Hunter said it looks fine. To you maybe but now my phone looks like a old prepaid android Walmart phone and it's going to kill my battery! The colors are not vivid at all!! You should disclose to customers that iPhone 7 screen replacement would look like this before they shell out $130 !! Save yourself the trouble and just go to the Apple store but I was impatient and didn't want to wait a week for an appointment. The original backup battery on my Verizon FIOS system lasted almost 10 years, when in needed to be replaced in March 2017, I purchased a replacement battery (Duracell DURA12-8F2) from this location. At the time of purchase the salesman told me that new battery should last from 5-7 years. The replacement battery lasted 15 months; When I went to this location on December 2, 2018 to purchase a new one the salesgirl was more interested in a box on the counter than waiting on me. After about 5 minutes she acknowledged that I was standing at the counter ready to make a purchase. I took my electric shaver here to get the batteries replaced because it would only do two shaves before it ran out of juice. They charged $15 plus tax for parts and labor which I thought was reasonable. Yes, I could have bought a new electric razor for a 10 or $20 more but I really like the one I have. The batteries they installed were great, as I charged the shaver over 2 weeks ago and it still runs off of that charge. I would have given them a full 5 stars but when I got it home I noticed that there was a gap where the two pieces of the housing fit together, where there had been done before. I had to take out two screws, remove the cover and move a wire into a better position so that the housing could be completely closed as it was before. I took my TAG Heuer watch there for battery change. I did the battery change myself last night, but the battery type was not correct, (maybe the voltage was too low,) so this watch's chronograph function did not work. The Batteries Plus people were very friendly and warm to help me. They put into it a same type of battery as what I put in, the same problem happened. Since they could not know what type of battery it should be, they gave me a referral to a specialty store, and said sorry to me that they did not help. Besides, they did not charge me anything! I've been to this location on two occasions and had great experiences each time. Obviously by their name you know they stock a variety of batteries and bulbs. My car is keyless and it was time for a new battery for my key fob. Not only did the associate get me a new battery, but she also changed it out for me. I literally walked in and she took care of everything for me. I didn't have to look for the battery or fiddle with the fob. I just had to pay for the new battery. I was the only customer so I was in and out in no time. During my second visit I used their buy online and pick up in store offer, and I was given 10% off my purchase for doing it. I received an email about 15 minutes later stating my order was ready for pick up. When I arrived the associate was helping a customer so I had a short wait. I purchased a new battery for my motorcycle. When you purchase a battery you are charged a core charge as well. I brought my old battery with me to turn in so the core charge would be refunded and the old battery would be safely discarded. The sales associate did not have my order pulled even though I received an email stating it was ready. He was very kind and quickly grabbed my battery. He also informed me that I had a two year warranty for the motorcycle battery that I purchased, and I did not have to keep track of my receipt since I made the purchase online. Motorcycle batteries last about two years so that was good for me. This location keeps batteries that I need in stock and make my experiences simple and fast. The clerk said it with a straight face that will cost to $6 and change for him to remove the micro screw and look at the battery. First time worked for week, second time one hour, third time tired to blame it on bad phone. Checked out Phone thoroughly both times and suddenly on third time it was a damages phone. Went in months ago with a cracked screen. It was replaced with a protector over it. Within days the screen stopped working. Completely black. Took it back and was told by a rude employ I was out of luck. Wasn't covered under their warranty. Well after emailing owner it was taken care of. Within 2 weeks screen wouldn't swipe. Took it back and Joe was very friendly and fixed it. Well within a month the screen started going in and out. Once again joe was friendly and fixed it because it's under warranty. Well this week I dropped it and it cracked under the protector which is supposed to be covered. Took it in and dealt with another employee. Was told their protectors that they used are not guaranteed. !! What's the use of a protector that cost $30 if it's not going to protect the phone!! read more
