A few notes after reading the reviews. 1) Jim is really the peak of bowmen....an archer's archer. I've gone hunting with others that have previously hunted with Jim. They told me that Jim took an Alaskan bear at 105 yards with a single arrow. When I confronted him with this, he said, "naw, it was only 100 yards"...... 2) He's been the paid factory rep - the face of the factory - for at least one bow manufacturer. Not an honor lightly achieved. 3) His whole family shoots at the expert level. Some will be there for training events. 4) Jim as a million stories and will give selflessly in showing you, your friends, your class, your league how to shoot. However, he does not suffer fools lightly and if you come in with the "customer's always right" or some other attitude, he will feel no need to help you any longer. Conversely, he is great with kids and clumsies. If you've ever noodled the idea of trying out a bow (I hate using long bows, but compound bows are great fun without pulling yourself apart), I highly recommend that you go visit and ask to try out a rental bow for an hour. Very inexpensive. If you don't get hooked, there's always chess or scrap-booking...... Jim - it was a privilege to shoot my first real bow there. My daughter is your biggest fan. I'll be back soon.

I walked in with very little knowledge and walked out not only with everything I needed to get started with a longbow, but also with a wealth of insight and guidance. Jim took an incredibly generous amount of his time to make sure both my partner and I were set up for success, answering every question and making the whole process feel approachable and exciting. He didn't try to oversell anything at all one of the most up front and honest blokes I've come across. It's honestly the first time I've been to a shop that shows this level of care and attention to newcomers, it was an absolutely brilliant experience. Because of Jim, his mate Travis, and everyone else we met there, this is quickly becoming a serious hobby for us. If you've even thought about trying archery, do yourself a favor and stop by, Jim will have you feeling confident and eager to start shooting in no time. No amount of online bow shopping or research will compare to chatting to Jim about what you need! Huge thanks to everyone at the shop, you're all fantastic. For a county park this is a good, single section, "all dog" park. It has a good double gate, water, bags for dog cleanup, and a trash can. Parking is good, and the location is away from the main roads which is always a plus. It has one big tree for shade, and a child's playground nearby. The tractor gate (single gate that is extra wide for tractors) is locked (as it should be). Bathrooms are nearby, and scenery is fantastic. The local Spreckles Boy Scouts did a great job! We visited on 3 April 2024, a quiet Wednesday afternoon. Others were here before we popped in. Will come here again.

Lots of friendly people enjoy swimming here. The water is always kept very clean. Excellent staff members. A beautiful pool to swim in. My son started swimming here when he was only 6 months old. He eventually became a life guard here. Now my grand daughters are taking lessons here.

I went in around 640pm and the manager said it was full but we could use the last lane since no one is using it and then when the swim team is done we could move over if we like. I said as long as we get a lane I'm fine, I don't mind where the lane is located. We get there and swim team has it so we go to another lane and everyone is saying it's their lane and they don't want to share. We swim in the common area pool because the young kids swim class is done but of course lap swimming is difficult because you have a lot of people floating in front of you. So we wait until 7pm which isn't much longer so we could get a lane. The swim team lingers and some of their friends go to their lane so it's like they were reserving it so again no lap for us. I had to leave, it was a waste of time, money and changing into swim wear. In fact I think I spent more time in the the changing room than swimming. Will not be returning. If the manager would have said no lane is open we wouldn't have even gone in, very misleading. Overly crowded. It's a great pool for the young but for an adult who is busy and wants a work out I would go somewhere else.

We recently camped here with our Boy Scout troop and reserved the Youth Overnight Campsite. The…read morecampsite is spacious, with plenty of room for our tents, flagpole, and Scout skill games. The kitchen area is well equipped with multiple picnic tables, BBQ grills, and plenty of trash cans, which made camp cleanup much easier. The restrooms have flush toilets and were very clean for a public facility. Park staff checked and cleaned the restrooms regularly throughout our stay. The park also offers many recreational facilities, including basketball courts, tennis courts, a frisbee golf course, and a volleyball net near the picnic area. The park ranger who checked us in was exceptionally friendly and helpful. She stopped by our campsite several times to make sure everything was going well and provided detailed information during check-in. The only minor drawbacks were that the campfire pit is located across from the campsite, and the hiking trails are relatively short.

Against my better judgment, I did go back because a friend wanted to check it out. This time we found a sign stating CSUMB residence only. We Live 10 miles away and are Monterey County residence, but not CSUMB residence. I called the number on the sign and was told residence only.

Be careful with the one who takes care of the Stormhouse because he steals everything. My dad went and delivered the jumphouse and chairs and tables for the birthday party. The next morning he showed up to pick up the jumphouse, one table and ten chairs and they were missing. My dad was upset but he had a dozen more jumphouse & hundreds chairs and tables so he got over it. Months later my dad saw a live video of a birthday party at the storm house with my dads jumphouse inside the Stormhouse. Apparently the storm house thief Javier started renting the location along with my dads jump house and chairs and tables. The stolen jumphouse, chairs and tables along with the Stormhouse were now Javiers "party package deal". A couple of weeks later a friend of ours told us they saw my dads jumphouse was at the storm house & my dad showed up to speak to the care taker of the Stormhouse & they stated Javier was not there, my dad returned later & said Javier lies and statet someone sold him the jumphouse. He lied....the jumphouse was rented to a customer who rented the Stormhouse for a party. The thief Javier just dragged that jumphouse inside the Stormhouse & tried to continue renting it along with the Stormhouse as a package deal. Everyone knows this guy as a thief. Be careful leaving your belongings there. He is a thief. The Salinas School of Dance has been an amazing part of my daughter's life. She has been dancing…read morethere since she was 3 years old and is now 12. The poise, grace and confidence that my daughter is partially due to her experiences here. The staff has always been more than helpful and the owner is a wonderful instructor, director and roll model for all that have the pleasure of meeting her. I have never seen or heard of any incidents of "laying hands", as reported by another yelper, in all of the years my daughter has been studying there. The owner and her staff go above and beyond to keep the children safe while in their care for classes. If anything the owner and staff have the patience of saints when dealing with occationally fussy children and more often than not difficult parents.

For the younger ages, parents are not allowed to be in the room to avoid distraction. Once in a while they will let the parents in to observe the last 15 minutes of class. The first time I was able to observe, my daughter was very distracted with all the parents watching. Makes sense why parents should not be present. The second time I was able to observe, my daughter was more used to the routine and did a whole lot better. For Mother's Day, they allowed the moms to take the class with the students. That was super cute Both owners have been super nice. You can tell they love what they do. I email Them when I have questions and they respond right away. I wouldn't take my daughter anywhere else.
