I came here for a family fun game of mini golf on a Saturday afternoon. There were 5 of us playing. Price is $18.50 for ages 12+ or $17.50 for 4 - 11 or seniors 62+. You can save by buying online via their website for as cheap as $10 on Wednesdays. Price varies on the day of the week. Weekends are $18.00 via online. There's a ball vending machine which allows you to select which of 6 color balls to play. For us two of the colors was not available. so we weren't able to get 5 different colors for each player. If two people uses the same color ball, that means you need to pay attention where the ball lands to avoid mix-up. Plenty of parking. There are 2 courses to pick from. To maximize your score, check out each hole before you play to review where the hole is and what obstacle you need to avoid. The starting point usually has 3 or 4 holes on a black rubber mat for you to set your ball. A few of the holes had worn out starting point holes. It can get busy on a weekend which means having to wait for the group ahead of you before proceeding.. Our family had fun. read more

My recommendation: if you're here for a date, sure. But if you're here for a big birthday / celebration event - skip it. The staff who took care of our table was fantastic and very patient with us. But the staff who greeted me and the manager there were not so. I won't reveal their names because by doing that - I know they would lose their jobs. And in this economy, losing jobs at Golfland means the outcomes would be really bad. My point is - as long as you are doing something extremely simple: don't need to engage in any communication or coordination with the Golfland staff (and their HQ's people), it is not a bad place to spend an afternoon with kiddos. read more

Brought the kids mini golfing for the first time and it was a fun family experience. You have two sides of the golf course to choose from - it seemed like a lot of people were choosing the side closest to El Camino. On a busy Sunday afternoon, that meant that many parties were waiting for the one in front to complete their round before they could proceed. You can skip as needed but the courses are designed to get progressively harder so going in order is the recommended option. The mats where you tee up the ball were mostly worn down and should be replaced, but the rest of the equipment were relatively well maintained. Inside is an arcade and a concession bar in case you need to fuel up. In order to take advantage of certain promotions, like the 3 and under golf for free, you need to download the app first which is a bit inconvenient but at least you get to save $17.50. read more

The Passage of the Orient section looked racist to me from an Asian perspective. Might as well call it the Great Pagoda instead. Another family date night. We decided on miniature golf, all the courses were good level of challenges, and it was so fun! We came during the week which had great weather, and it wasn't overly crowded. During the weekend this place gets pretty busy. The staff was very friendly, and the grounds were well kept and clean. Inside they also have an arcade so after golfing we played a few games, the arcade isn't huge but a good size and a decent selection of video games. We all had a really nice time together and I will cherish the memories that we created here with the twins. The food and arcade price were reasonable, but all the above made for a family fun, safe evening. Other patrons were respectful and patient! We played the 18-hole safari course for $18.50. Came here with my nephew, he had fun, but it's clear this place isn't what it used to be. The mini golf course is pretty rundown, with tears in the turf and areas that look like they haven't been maintained in a while. The arcade was also disappointing. This is the classic South Bay spot for mini golf. Always fun coming back here, they have some fun and unique holes, with a good amount of variation. It can be very crowded on weekends though, and you'll have to wait for the group in front to finish the hole before you can start on it. read more

I SUCK at mini golf (probably at real golf too, but I haven't tried yet). Regardless, this is still quite a fun activity as a date or with friends. I've been to a different location, before and I believe they're all similar. You pay for your game up front and they give you a putter and a ball. I have constantly lost balls, you just go back and they give you another one or if you're diligent, you can hunt for any lost balls along the course. There are 2 sides for the golf courses, an easier side where you trek around the world and a more difficult side where I believe you go through a safari Africa. Some of the holes have the classical sand pits, the windmill, and moving doors. I guess Golfland REALLY likes those skee ball holes cuz there's quite a few of them throughout both sides of the course. There were also some unique ones such as loop de loops, hanging obstacles, and the water ones too. Depending on how busy it is, someone may lap you and sometimes it's better to let the speed runners go ahead of you if you want to play an in depth enjoyable game. If you get a hole in one at the end, you win a free game, just let the staff know and IT IS possible to win this hole, as someone in our group was able to do so. Simple fun spot! read more

Went here on a date for my boyfriend's birthday and had a blast! We went on Thursday at 6 PM and it wasn't too crowded when we arrived, but a lot of people showed up by the time we left at around 8:30 PM or so. I'd imagine it's much busier on the weekend. We were hungry so we decided to eat dinner at the snack bar. We got the nachos, jalapeno poppers, curly fries, and hot dogs. I think it's important to have certain expectations with the food here -- you should anticipate that you'll be paying for overpriced, mediocre frozen food prepared by a teenager. But IMO that's exactly why it's so charming. It's fun and nostalgic. I do want to note that after we sat down to wait for our food, the person who took our order came out to let us know that the hot dogs will take longer than usual to prepare since they haven't been prepped yet. I really appreciated the communication rather than having us sit there waiting. I wanted to leave a tip because I found that kind of customer service to be above and beyond for a place like Golfland but I couldn't find a tip jar. If a manager is reading this -- good job on training the folks at the snack bar and I hope that they get some recognition. The interior is straight out of the 90's and took me back to my childhood. There's a decent selection of arcade machines and a lot of them have been updated. The DDR machine could certainly use a revamp though. We also did the 18-hole Safari course which was fun! We finished each hole quite easily and spent most of our time chit chatting while waiting for the group in front of us to finish, which was okay since it was a large group. We did feel some pressure though since we had groups behind us waiting for us to finish as well. Overall - really fun date spot! We celebrated my son's birthday party today and our hosts/coordinators Eddy and Kaitlyn were absolutely AMAZING!!! So attentive and supportive! They made sure to check-in often and provided such great customer service! Literally anything we needed! We booked a 2 hour 2 activity event for a group of 11 kids and 20 adults and they had a wonderful time! Great space, plenty of food and very affordable given our party size! This place is so fun! Went here on a day date with my fiancée and we had a blast! We chose the harder course (Safari) which had a few challenging ones but was so fun! Golfland was such a fun experience for me and my friends. Since it was raining, we basically had the place to ourselves! This place reminds of Malibu Grand Prix if you ever went there. There are 2 parking lots on either side of the property. There is also an indoor arcade if you want to play games. The two mini golf courses were outside and they were 18 holes each. For an adult, one mini golf course is $18 and it's $24 to play both. We decided to play the harder one because why not!! The man helping us out last night was super nice! He helped us take a group photo at the end because we were struggling. The golf course had some cool decorations and challenging courses. There are a couple of stairs throughout the course so just be mindful of that if you have difficulty navigating stairs! I can't wait to come back again to play the other course. read more

I didn't know what to expect going in because it does look a little rundown from the outside, but the golf course is quite expansive and really well done for being right along El Camino Real! Golfland has two mini golf courses -- easy and hard -- and the hard course definitely had its twists and turns. It ended up taking us over an hour to get through the 18-hole hard course, and we had a lot of fun doing so! Most surprising is how this place hasnt sold out to real estate developers and turned into multifamily units like everything else that was cool in the Bay. Mini golf was fun and challenging. Visited here 3 times in the last 2 months with my son. He loves it and always is asking to go back. There's 2 courses to choose from (King's Quest which is easier, and Safari Run which is harder). They are both fun courses and I think both are challenging in their own ways. The course is pretty large but the last time we came it was during Columbus Day and it was more crowded than before. The waiting space feels kinda crammed if there's another party behind you waiting to go. The arcade is pretty small but I'm sure it seems huge to a kid. Bathrooms are not the best kept, so be prepared for that. They have a tiny snack bar but we didn't try any food from there, and it doesn't appeal to me either. My son only seems to enjoy the miniature golf session, so we will focus on just that next time. read more

I thought it was cute they had a variety of ball colors. They also had an arcade that had a bunch of games. Unfortunately, we did not have time to play. They also have a small food concession stand. Had eaten previously so only got an Icee, which was tasty. The pricing is fair and inexpensive. The bathroom was small and needed some TLC. The courses were fun and the scorecard was easy to use. I went to Golfland today but have been here probably around 3 other times previously. It's always a fun experience! When you arrive, you go to the register, where you let them know which course you want to do. There's an easy side and a hard side. You can choose one course (18 holes) and it'll be $17 for general, or $16 for junior (ages 4-11) or senior (ages 60+). Or. You can choose both courses (36 holes) and it'll be $22 for general, or $21 for the junior or senior discounts. I always just choose one course: the hard one. It's always tons of fun! The only issue I've experienced is sometimes it can get really crowded. For example, recently there was a huge group of around 10 people in front of me, so I was stuck waiting for a very long time for each hole. The other times I've been here, that's usually not the case and I'm not stuck waiting for too long. It's such a fun hangout activity to do with friends! I'd highly recommend coming here if you enjoy mini golf or even if you've never been before but are interested in trying it. read more

This mini-golf park has some fun holes and themes, and the group that I went with had a good time. The parking lot got pretty full--I felt fortunate to grab the last spot. I was disappointed that one of the holes was named "The Orient." Whether it is their intention or not, the term is associated with exoticism, modern empires, the skewed view of world geography they present, and their tendency to homogenize large, diverse parts of the world as if they shared a single cultural identity. I actually wouldn't return because of it and would hope that they rename or redecorate that hole. Finally, I think their final hole where you can win a free game is not working. I hit the ball into the hole that should have triggered something, but nothing happened. My party had to leave, so I didn't bother complaining. Having been to many mini golf courses, I don't expect much from Golfland... I know it's a chain mainly meant to entertain kids and people who are easily impressed by colorful structures. But the quality of the courses during my visit was disappointing. They have two 18-hole courses (#19 collects your ball), the one with the giraffe is supposedly the "more challenging" course (according to the worker), but neither is really challenging or unique. In fact, some are just plain and repetitive (ie. hit the ball over a small hill), few moving parts, dirty water in the ponds, and the worst part is the quality of the turf at each hole (which I think is extremely important for mini golf). It's not only an eyesore, but also affects your ability to actually hit the ball into the hole, which is the whole point. It was beyond normal wear and tear, it's like a dinosaur with sharp nails ran through Sunnyvale Golfland and left deep scrape marks everywhere. And I'm surprised that even with the venue having limited visitors/hours during the pandemic, they couldn't fix or upgrade this. Luckily, the place was clean, with friendly workers, to save this from being a one-star review. read more
