Did great job painting trim around the house, however, the painters left the roller covers inside the 5 gallon can when I went to open it yesteday to do some touchup, I had to remove the darn covers and what a mess. What the hell were they thinking?????? read more

CertaPro out of Reno did a great commercial job on our 12,000 sf tilt up two story retail building in Carson City. The building had not been painted in 20 years, and the weather here had definitely taken it's toll on the fascia and cement wall surfaces, requiring a lot of prep work. It was a big job, and we bid it out to three of the top Yelp commercial painting companies. CertaPro had the best pricing by a mile, so much so that I was concerned there might be short cuts. But I was there every day with the crew, and, as a former painter I was extremely impressed with the prep work and care they took in taping off windows and existing signage, filling cracks, hand scraping flaking paint and covering the whole parking lot with drop cloths. They primed the building with different paints for different surfaces, then sprayed two finish coats for longevity. This was a custom color job, with multiple horizontal stripes on the building, and the outcome was as close to perfect as I think we'll ever get. Mary Wink is the owner and was our primary contact, and she visited us on site in Carson City multiple times to check on the work progress and our customer satisfaction. She is very professional and worked with us patiently and straightforwardly on many many custom detail requests we had. We had CertaPro pain both the interior and exterior of our house last fall. Overall, the process went smoothly and we really liked Travis who gave us the bid (very responsive). The exterior also looks good. Some problems that we had, though: when they said the job was done we found some issues and had to call and have the foreman back to look at them (a few small areas that remained unpainted, some lines that were not straight, etc)--they came back and fixed them right away. We were just disappointed that they had not noticed them on their own and that we had to reach out. They also painted the interior of our wood windows and I don't think that they let them all dry sufficiently before closing them, because two of them were stuck shut and we could not open them (they were brand new windows and they opened fine before being painted). I called and talked to the office manager about it who said that she would consult the owner and she never got back to me about it. read more

We contacted CertaPro several months before (October) we were planning on painting our home (May or later). Dan, came out and provided a very detailed estimate of the work. Minor updates were requested by us, and Dan quickly updated the estimate to reflect the changes. We worked with a color coordinator to come up with the right four color combinations that we wanted. Our HOA required some additional documentation, to which Dan quickly provided, even though the request came during the evening. Work started early on the scheduled day. We were introduced to the job foreman. I believe that there were 5+ guys working on the prep work, which was completed before noon, and painting started. The entire project was completed within 3 days, and any issues (color on another color etc) were corrected as soon as we pointed them out. During the process, there was a larger issue that did occur (I won't go into details here), which I brought to the foreman's attention. Within the hour, I was greeted by the office's general manager. We discussed options on correcting the issue and came up with a solution. Dan contacted me and assured me that everything would be taken care of to our satisfaction. Short story long, that is exactly what happened, the issue has been resolved, and we are completely satisfied with the outcome and the Customer Service provided by CertaPro top to bottom! read more

My initial experience planning my exterior paint job was extremely positive. Communication started out strong, everyone was helpful and I had high hopes for an awesome job. Unfortunately, that is where the positive attributes of this company ended for me. The day the job was completed, there was already peeling, cracking and bubbling paint. When I pointed this out to the job foreman and asked him to fix it, he simply caulked over the failing areas and told me it would be fine, not to worry. At that point, it was getting dark and I couldn't see much could be done in the dark, so we decided to wrap things up. The workers packed up to go home and left. When I went outside to wrap things up on my end I saw they had left trash and large paint chips all over my landscaping as well as drips of paint on my concete, some of which they had covered over with dirt. The next day I had full daylight to see the job. Short list of issues: Paint drips off of every piece of window and decorative trim. Paint on window screens Bubbling, cracking and failing paint Globs of caulking Unpainted areas Paint lines were not clean/straight Trim paint on the body of the house and vice versa etc. etc. You get the idea. The job was completed 3 weeks ago and I have been working to come to a solution with the company to make this right. Communication has been poor and negative in tone. Just to get someone to see the work so they can understand what I am talking about took a week and a half of negative emails, and I finally received results when I filed a claim with my financial institution and stopped payment. This was the only thing that finally got their attention and it wasn't pretty. After threatening me via email, I asked them to just come out and look, that I wouldn't pay for this quality of work. The owner finally agreed to see the work, and my complaint then made sense. He saw my issues and agreed the things mentioned were in need of being fixed. We've yet to set a date for that repair. After this experience, I really have nothing positive to say for this company. The work was not good, customer service has been poor and my house still needs paint. I do hope we can come to a solution, and if we do, I will update my review to reflect that, but until then, I feel other people should be aware, that while my experience appears not to be typical based on reviews, this was a pretty awful, stressful experience and I would say if you are considering Certapro, proceed with caution. **************************UPDATE*************************** After working with the owner, we were able to come up with a solution. He sent a different crew out and they did a great job with the corrections and I am very pleased with their correction work. Communication also changed in tone and frequency which helped us get to a resolution faster. A mark of a good company is their ability to acknowledge mistakes when they happen and make them right, and Certapro was able to do that. Certa Pro painted my house and shed. Eric comes out does the quote and over see's the guys. The price was very reasonable they weren't the lowest but definitely not the highest. Great communication. Tomas, Jose and Israel were the guys on my team. They were super hardworking and respectful. They showed up at 8:00 am and didn't leave until 5:00 pm very reliable. Those guys had everything painted in 2 days. They spray it and then back roll it. These guys even painted the gas meter and it looks brand new. They really pay attention to small details. After they are done painting you do a walk through with Tomas and if you find anything that needs to be fixed, they fix it immediately. Then Eric also came and did a walkthrough again. We had CertaPro painters come out and paint the interior walls and trim of our house and also the facia on the outside. They came out on time and did an outstanding job! I would have given them 5 stars with the exception of the interior trim paint which is a flat paint and not the same quality as the oil based enamel that was the original. It's been 6 months since it's been painted and we've noticed some rub off around the door knobs and the original white color is coming through.
