We had already made the design together and when I came in there was no time to be nervous. I Sat,he shaved my arm and on we went! He talked to me the entire time to keep me calm and distracted me from what was going on my arm. A few hours went by and time was cutting close for me to leave. I wasnt even able to get a tattoo. But I put down a deposit then had a medical emergency. And the tattoo artist my husband talked to said I could either do one of 2 things. 1- buy the artwork or 2- get my deposit back. So when my husband went in to get my money back the tattoo artist told me he already drew up the work and we coukdnt get my money back. And the drawing was nothing what we talked about. Blew out my tattoo and didn't care at all about helping to fix it. It was a tattoo with a lot of meaning and thought behind it and now makes me sad to look at what a disaster it is. I now have the option of a giant coverup tattoo which is the complete opposite of what I wanted, or pay more to get it lasered off. I never even knew what tattoo blow out is and now I am stuck with it for life. I am very disappointed with the work the artist did and how unprofessionally they handled their mistake. read more

I had had a horrible experience elsewhere about 13 years ago and hadn't pursued any type of tattoo for years because of it... In 2014, I met Ryan Spencer for a cover up I was thinking about and was ready to pull the trigger on. After exchanging ideas and different concepts, he designed a beautiful cover-up that encapsulated everything I envisioned. They say Tattoos are just like Pringles, you can't just have one... so since then, I've gone back for many other pieces that Ryan has done. From a 'water color style' tattoo, to scenery, to a skull, and the latest a solar system thigh piece. This artist is the total package. And, if he's not confident in his work, he'll recommend you to someone who he feels would be! He's honest, kind, professional, and very light handed. Communication is stellar and he's extremely meticulous with his artistry with very clean lines and shading. I have extremely sensitive skin so the healing process is a little bit more difficult, but over the last few years, we've come up with a stellar healing system that keeps my tattoos looking amazing and full of life. Since then, I've had many friends and family members go to Battleborn - whether it be to Ryan or another artist and have only gotten amazing feedback! After being treated like crap at another shop in town I decided to go to Battle Born because a friend suggested them to me. My mom and I went in to get a mother daughter tattoo together and the lady who did it was very nice and she seemed to have known what she was doing until shortly after our tattoos turned into a blurry mess! The first day they were very clear and exactly what we wanted but a couple days after it started to spread and look blurry!!! The artist who did it had a rough draft drawing in which I thought it would be cleaned up when the tattoo was done. It ended up looking much like the sketch.
