This is a very cute spot with creative drinks. We were seeking out fun seasonal coffee drinks and Battle Cat was at the top of the list. The decor inside is eclectic and the vibe is fun even though there's not much room to sit. I got the seasonal sweet potato latte and a bacon and egg kolache. Both were very good. I also tried my friend's sausage gravy kolache and it was arguably better than the bacon and egg. Staff was friendly and helpful. I love their logo so much, I took home a T-shirt.

I was here last year and again this week and really love the artsy bohemian vibe. The coffee and my banana bread were excellent. She even asked if I wanted an end or middle piece -- what a great choice. The "Battle Cat" merch is too cute with a cat ready to battle -- lil helmit & all. There are several works of art for sale, several seating areas thru-out the house as well as outside with nice gardens.

I was recommended this place by a friend and my coffee was straight up delicious. I didn't have to add sugar or anything and I love a sweet coffee. I got the smores latte. My friend recommends the banana bread, which I don't eat but she swears by it. It's an eclectic little shop and it looked like a nice place to chill for a bit.

This is a fun place for a flavored coffee. We ordered hot gingerbread lattes. The flavoring was strong, & so I was pleased with the taste. Since it was a chilly morning, the hot & foamy espresso along with the bold flavor hit the spot.

Cute little drawing on the porch table we sat at. I love this place.

With a name like "Battle Cat Coffee," how could you not stop there for a cup of bean juice? Great coffee. I had a divine iced latte, and I definitely considered going back for another one before we left because it was so good. The vibes are immaculate, there's local art for sale, and it feels like hanging out in your friend's college apartment living room--except that friend is a badass barista who makes the best stuff. There's a Tiger Bay cafe in the back that's making some killer sandwiches. I got a breakfast burrito, and the bacon on there was the best I have ever had. I need to know their secrets. There's plenty of indoor seating, but there's also an eclectic outdoor garden-y space for sitting and hanging out with friends and a separate outdoor space--there is plenty of room for everyone to enjoy the great weather and the coffee. Great place, hands-down. You need to stop here if you're swinging through Asheville.

My husband and I stopped in for the first time today, and we enjoyed the vibe as well as the coffee. We received our order quickly and the service was great.

Absolutely love this coffee shop. The local art is always immersive and so intricate with its details, the coffee is delicious, and the vibes are great. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating as well. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We ordered from tiger bay cafe (in the same building) and enjoyed the patio seating. My iced Thai coconut latte was delicious!

Cool, hip place with yummy chai tea, but not so great hot chocolate :) Inside they feature local art so you can browse or shop while waiting on your coffee. They also have food for sale, but you have to order and pay at another window. It is in an old home so the creaky floors and multiple rooms make great spots for reading, visiting or working on your laptop. We also loved the outdoor seating in the garden. Very quaint and atmospheric. We'll be back!

Pretty cool little place - it reminds me of many coffee spots in New Orleans that are in old houses. The artwork all around is fun to look at while you wait, and I love the logo. It's a little weird that you can order coffee and pastries and bagels in one window, but if you want a breakfast sandwich, you must take approximately four steps and order from "Tiger Bay" at a different window. A lot of seating is squeezed into this tiny place (seats were quite close together), which has a big following.

Good coffee but I got the feeling it was for locals only. The baristas didn't want to engage with customers.

Good coffee and food from Tigerbay in the back. Their furniture could use an update and repairs, I just don't like to sit on torn upholstery

Barista took the time to finish her conversation before helping us. Espresso was sharp and sour.

Solid spot for coffee and specialty drinks. Mocha Mexican cookies are fantastic and the Cafe Miel is well-prepared and delicious.

Tucked away near the end of Broadway, Rowan possesses a warm and understated charm. The soft lighting and calm atmosphere create a cozy ambiance that exudes thoughtfully curated design, while the gentle hum of conversation and espresso machines add a touch of life to the space. It's the kind of coffee shop where rainy afternoons feel like a cinematic scene from your favorite film. Recently, I met a date here, as Rowan seemed like the perfect setting for such a memorable beginning. After we greeted one another with an intimate kiss just outside the doors of Rowan Coffee, I observed a Duchenne smile flash across her face before we embarked on what became an emotionally recursive, psychologically layered Asheville odyssey, as we explored Malaprop's Bookstore, the Grove Arcade, Wall Street, Pack Square Park, I.M. Pei's connection to structures outside both the Louvre and the Asheville Art Museum, French Broad Chocolate, Cúrate, and the South Slope. The coffee at Rowan is truly exceptional. Each cup is thoughtfully crafted, balanced, and served with care by passionate baristas. It can be rather challenging to find premium cold brew these days, but the cold brew on offer here is some of the best I've found in Asheville. Whether you're enjoying a cappuccino, catching up with a friend, or studying/working near the back, Rowan provides the perfect atmosphere for unwinding and savoring the moment. My date ordered a mocha that morning, and based on the enthusiasm with which it disappeared, I'd be remiss not to mention it. The mochas are so good here that girls do circle back. And if you don't, you're missing out. What truly sets Rowan apart is its comfort. It's an intimate space without being overcrowded; it's stylish without being pretentious. It encourages conversation, reflection, and even accidental three-hour stays.

When we got there the parking lot was absolutely packed, but by the time we left we were the last car remaining since they were about to close. The line was short and the service was fast, although at nearly 2pm this was probably a late lunch for most. The woman behind the cashier was super friendly and helped us choose sandwiches and also gave us some tips on what to check out in the arts district after. I went with the classic sandwich and thought it was pretty tasty. However, my husband and I also split a carrot cake and that was the real winner of the lunch. And I washed it all down with an iced latte, which I regretted later that evening when I couldn't fall asleep due to a late coffee. I have to cut myselff off from caffeine at noon these days. It was a beautiful June day so we enjoyed our lunch outside and then checked out some galleries in the area. It was quick, easy and tasty and I'd be up for another lunch here if in the area.
