The full story: I've sat with this for a while and decided it was imperative to share my horrific experience at access and with Dr. Medina. Blame this on grief, but please know I sat and thought about this for a long time before writing and think that it's important to warn people of the horrible care we received. Two weeks ago we brought our dog in for two main concerns: 1) An injury he had sustained in his back leg and 2) A loss of appetite that we feared was cancer. Right out of the gate Dr. Medina hyper focused on his age and previous ultrasounds and ignored our concerns about the injury to his back leg. We tried to give her a comprehensive overview of our dog, who we knew better than anybody else to get her to take our concerns seriously. Before even looking at him, she had immediately jumped to focusing on cancer, and five minutes into the conversation was already talking about euthanasia. We left him there for the day to get all of his work ups done, and Dr. Medina had told us multiple times that the ultrasound tech leaves at 4 so he should be ready at 4. Bc we live far away from access we made sure to get there right at 4 and avoid any traffic delays. We were just going to wait in the lobby, but they insisted that we go into a room and talk to Dr. M. Dr. M came in confused asking us why we had showed up at 4. Bc you told us 4? We were very nervous, anxious and crying and yet she kept repeating the phrase "it's so FUNNY that you showed up this early. This is so WEIRD. This is so FUNNY, etc. etc." We thought we were going crazy. From there, Dr. M reviewed his x-rays with us and told us that we would need to do a fine needle aspirate on some masses that were found on his spleen. She said that she would call us with the results and if it was cancer would help us figure out what we needed to do next. She did mention she would not be at that hospital the next day, but would get a hold of us no matter what. That evening I realized my dogs legs were never x-rayed despite this being one of the top concerns. Once again, I realized Dr. Medina dismissed a major concern. Because of this, we did not trust access to handle our care or listen to our concerns so we were forced to get him x-rayed at a different hospital. Having to do a second round of x-rays hurt our dog so badly that he became paralyzed. I believe if our dogs care had been handled properly by Dr. M, his quality of life would have been so much better than the horrific experience he had in his final days. In addition, we spent all of the next day waiting for Dr. M to call us with the test results that we had paid to be expedited. During that entire time we waited, I had received many emails from access with receipts and summaries and discharge paperwork. None of these emails had any messages in the body of them just random PDFs attached with no indication that we'd be receiving life-changing news there. I almost didn't look at the last one we received, but I opened it and saw that Dr. Medina had written us a message with our dog's cancer diagnosis. The message itself was long and confusing and we had a million questions. We tried calling access and were only able to speak to receptionists who every time we had a question would put us on hold for 10 minutes at a time and either ask a doctor nearby or google the answer. To this day we never received a call from dr. Medina. When you work in a specialty hospital you should understand the lengths people will go to in order to care for their companions. I will never forgive Dr. Medina for completely abandoning us in the worst moment of our lives. She is truly a sick individual who lacks any care or compassion. I blame her specifically for the horrific end to my dog's life. I don't know what type of person could be so uncaring, unfeeling, and lacking any other normal human emotions. She is truly a sociopath.

She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years here at Paws & Claws; she has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... I don't think it's fair to charge me for a follow-up that was necessary because of their mistake. On top of that, my dog received a shot that she apparently didn't even need due to the incorrect diagnosis. They do not care about my dog. I would not take your pet to Warner Center Pet Clinic. My experience there was so negligent and dismissive that it could have endangered my dog's life. My dog has a collapsing trachea and multiple food allergies. Before she became sick, WCPC seemed fine. But once she needed consistent medical care, everything changed. Their attitude, accuracy, and professionalism declined sharply. Here is what I experienced: * Repeated prescription errors for months -- My dog needs a precise dose of medication to breathe comfortably. For 4-5 months straight, the written prescription was wrong. One month it was incorrect twice in the same day. They consistently prescribed too little medication, which is dangerous for her condition. * Dismissive and irritated staff -- Any time I called to follow up because their suggestions weren't working, they acted annoyed and impatient, even though I was calm and polite. I wasn't calling excessively -- just when my dog was struggling. * Blaming me instead of fixing mistakes -- When I finally expressed concern, they blamed me for requesting pill form instead of liquid, even though I had repeatedly explained that the liquid caused my dog severe pain. They showed no interest in helping me find a safe way to medicate her. * Failure to diagnose her condition -- For months they told me she was "fine," despite clear symptoms. She was later diagnosed with a collapsing trachea, something they overlooked again and again. * Lack of compassion or urgency -- My dog was having trouble breathing and swallowing medication, and they brushed me off. Their attitude was cold, rude, and completely lacking empathy. Their repeated mistakes and refusal to listen could have seriously harmed my dog. The only reason she's okay is because I paid close attention and pushed for answers. They never returned my calls. In my experience, WCPC was careless, dismissive, and unprofessional. I would not trust them with a medically fragile pet.

The staff at Oaks Veterinary were very kind to us and sat us in a semiprivate room up front while Dr. Jimenez did some tests on our kitten (he's 12, but he'll always be our kitten). The diagnosis was Feline Idiopathic Cystitis and we were sent home with a variety of medicines, some cans of prescription urinary care food, and orders to follow up with our primary vet in about a week for more tests. Everything was pretty pricey at $1700, so I appreciated that they gave us the cans of food for free (which our primary vet didn't do when we eventually followed up). They also sent the records over to our primary vet, which I appreciated. I had to follow up with the office staff about getting copies of the records for myself and, when I reached out with concern about how long it should be taking Atticus to recover, it took about 5 days to get back to me. Those are the only reasons it's not 5 stars. Lots of parking and food places nearby if you need to wait.
