We have been going to Media City and Dr. Bazlova for years for our 10 year old Labradoodle Scout. I…read morehave been remiss in not posting a review until now...Media City and Dr. Bazlova in particular are wonderful. The staff is friendly, super helpful, caring, professional and responsive. They always have a wonderful attitude despite a busy office environment right in front of their desk. And I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Bazlova. She is super smart, responsive, caring, thorough and kind. When she calls to give test results she thoroughly explains them and next steps. If I email her a question through the website she always responds promptly. Our dog recently developed Cushings disease. She has been so lovely in helping us navigate reaching the diagnosis and now the treatment plan. I highly recommend Dr. B and Media City!

This office clearly has…read morea quota to meet for various procedures, as indicated by the vet walking into the room and, before even looking at my dog, started demanding that dental work was needed. Dr. Bazlova preceded to comment, while looking at her computer screen, that my dog's paw's looked much healthier than last year. (My dog has never had any issues with his paws). The rest of the appointment was a conversation over my concern with having my dog sedated for unnecessary dental work, and she could do nothing but continue to suggest additional unnecessary procedures. She was very aware of the clock and eager to get the heck out and to her next appointment. I can't say the problem is with her personally, but likely the policies of this office/practice. The vet's are very clearly trying to meet a quota. They should be ashamed, as they're the reason people can't trust their veterinarian. They're just trying to make a buck. I found a much better veterinarian -- they do exist! But this place is NOT ONE. I would absolutely NEVER RECOMMEND.

Ultimately, his ear issue resolved on its own in a few days but the vet staff in the back tried their best to figure out what was going on and gave realistic, rational advice on what to do next. Often I feel like vets try to upsell or use scare tactics, but the doctor I spoke to was really pragmatic and easy to talk to. In particular, the front desk staff was also very professional and kind. They explained things well and were really helpful. Fees are higher than a regular vet but it is worth it since they are open late and this was way better experience and cheaper than trying to go to an emergency vet.

I almost NEVER write negative reviews, but what happened to me last week was beyond rude and…read morecompletely unacceptable. My dog was sick, so I brought her to this clinic. They told me the wait could be 1-1.5 hours and that they could keep my dog while I left and came back. I trusted what I was told and left for work. Almost THREE HOURS passed with no update. I eventually called and asked them to please give my dog some water because she had just come from a walk. (Mind you, when I finally brought her home, she was extremely thirsty and drank water desperately.) While I still was at work, the doctor eventually called and explained that I had options, including temporarily providing medication while I decided how to proceed. I immediately returned to the clinic. I learned my dog had been kept isolated for more than THREE HOURS, and I could hear her crying in a different room. I respectfully asked them to bring her to me while we discussed the treatment options. They asked me to wait outside because she "may be contagious," which I completely understood and complied with. What should have been a simple and reasonable request was treated as though I was causing a problem. I was not asking for anything unreasonable. I was simply uncomfortable hearing my sick dog crying alone in an isolated room and wanted her with me while we discussed her care. This could have been handled calmly and respectfully. But instead, the front desk went back and worth for about 20m, and kept giving me an attitude. When they finally brought my dog to me, in the parking lot outside one of the staff members, I believe her name was Jamie, presented me with an estimate of approximately $1,100-$1,400 JUST TO RUN TESTS, not including the actual treatment. I asked about the options, but she never mentioned the temporary medication option the doctor had told me over the phone earlier. I declined the expensive option, and said that I am not interested. Then came the WORST PART. While I was in the parking lot, she turned toward me and yelled: "YOU ARE FIRED. DO NOT COME BACK TO THE CLINIC. I FIRE YOU!" I was in complete shock. Excuse me--WHAT??? There is a huge difference between a client being unhappy, asking questions, disagreeing with a treatment recommendation, , and a staff member screaming at a client and speaking to them in such a disrespectful and humiliating manner. I did not deserve to be treated this way, especially while I was already worried and stressed about my sick dog. I also highly doubt that a front-desk receptionist has the authority to "fire" a client or make a statement like that!!! This office needs serious customer service training! Regardless, I have absolutely no intention of ever returning to this clinic. This woman was rude, disrespectful, and completely unprofessional throughout this experience. If this is how the clinic treats people who ask questions about their pet's treatment and costs, that is extremely concerning. This clinic has lost me as a client, and unfortunately, also the friends and family members I have referred here. I will NEVER return, and I absolutely DO NOT recommend this clinic. They wasted my entire afternoon, left me extremely concerned, and my dog was still sick. Both me and my dog lost valuable time, while she was sick. Absolutely unacceptable!!! (Thankfully, the very next morning I found an opening at a different vet clinic. They examined my dog, provided an estimate with a way REASONABLE amount, treated me nicely, and started treatment immediately, and my dog is now a happy, healthy baby again. )

But that was not the fault of the provider, just the fault of what I was having to do. The vet was very nice and very patient. She even gave me a late night appointment so I could spend some quality time with my Dog. The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. She encouraged him to stay in the room with us once he was comfortable with her, and I truly believe that helped him understand what was happening. She was incredibly professional, but I'll never forget one small moment. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. Thank you for your kindness, your empathy, and for helping my sweet Lilo leave this world peacefully and with dignity. Please take care of yourself, too. The first photo is the day Oliver met Lilo as a puppy, their first photo together. The second was taken just before the veterinarian arrived to help Lilo pass. I didn't realize until later that I had unknowingly captured both the beginning and the end of their story together I will miss my Lilo for eternity.
