We then left Harley with them so they could check out what was going on. They found a mass on her tonsil, and Dr. Tallant removed it that same day. Harley's quality of life immediately improved! She was back to begging for food and for walks within two days. Dr. Lottati and Dr. Tallant were very clear and compassionate when answering all of our questions. I request my exam fee back since the exam is so they can come see you if you need them quickly... They never had availability or responded in a timely manner. He was a rescue as a puppy and had some sort of issue his entire 14 year life but I was lucky to have the means (and pet insurance) to treat any and all issues. That being said, paws and claws has been through with Renly: intestinal blockage surgeries, cancerous lump removal, epilepsy treatment, liver treatment,Osteoarthritis treatments. And because of them my husky lived 14 happy, pain free, years with amazing quality of life until literally his last day. We've been through several vets in the many years of patronage but Dr.D has been our vet for the last couple years and without a doubt her treatments are why my dog lived to 14 pain free and happy. Yes they are expensive, Woodland Hills, but pets are expensive. I highly recommend pet insurance for all pets as that is the reason I was always able to treat my dog. Last: the staff. Everyone at the front desk and the techs are amazing but I have to specifically point out Xavier, who has gone above and beyond for us more than once, and was the one to help renly pass, as they had their own special bond. and Bailey who has been there for us for many years as well. Now I have brought home a 10 month old east valley rescue who had kennel cough and several other shelter related issues and Dr. D has treated him appropriately and he is recovering quickly. This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. I always say to people I give her card to: "you will discover she is an Earth Angel - if she moved to a different town, I'd take my pup there... When you find a great vet, they are Gold! She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years here at Paws & Claws; she has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I still drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

It's the best of both worlds because he comprehends the western and practices and treats with eastern medicine. My dog Ace was first diagnosed by his vet that he had been seeing for his first 10 years, since I adopted him at 3 months old. His health was great, no hiccups, only one small foxtail in the ear problem. Until his 15 yr old black lab cousin, Bella Dioji passed due to old age and then less than 8 months later, his Corgi/Chow sister passed due to stomach cancer. He had what we thought was a seizure after Bella's passing. Took him to the vet and they said, it was isolated so we just have to keep an eye on it. He then had one on the day we were to take Poochie in to put her to sleep. So we took him in to the vet, they ran bloodwork but didn't really think much of it and said they wanted to continue to watch him. Then he had on the next day and the next. Finally, after taking him in one last time, they suggested I take Ace to a neurologist. We had been seeing Dr. Bittan for Poochie's stomach cancer and decided to bring Ace in as well. He assessed him and asked that we see the neurologist as the other vet had recommended as well. Dr. Bittan directed us to the VCA Specialty Hospital in West Los Angeles. I made an appointment, took him in, they assessed him and immediately, the Neurologist said, she can't help him yet, he has a heart issue. 5 mins later, the Cardiologist came in and from there, it was a rollercoaster. They stabilized his condition then the syncopate episodes (which we originally thought were seizures) started happening again. Long story short, Ace had heart surgery, he did great for a week, then his kidneys began to fail due to the western medicine meds he needed to be on. A few days later, he was lethargic, ok, beyond, he was just laying on the floor, almost lifeless. He wasn't urinating or pooping and I decided to leave him overnight on an IV to see if he could flush the toxins out. Dr. Bittan had finally gotten the test results of the surgery and bloodwork and immediately had Max (his awesome assistant) call to tell me to bring him in. I was on the phone calling different places trying to find a vet that would put him to sleep at the beach, his favorite place. Dr. Bittan looked at him, studied his charts and asked me to commit 5 days to him to try to help Ace. I struggled with my decision, Ace was not Ace at the moment and I didn't want him to suffer. I decided to do let Dr. Bittan have his go at it. He gave Ace a shot, and about 8 different drops to give him every hour on the hour that night. I had to go to the post office so my roommate gave Ace is first dose in the car. By this time it had been at least 48 hours since he had pee'd. We arrived home an hour later and I had my roommate put him on the grass to see if he might want to try. He wobbled a bit, he was week, he hadn't been eating as well. Lo and behold, the little boy pee'd, he pee'd for what seemed to be a whole minute! That was the sign that he was fighting and he was going to be ok. Here I am now, writing this review, almost 7 months later, and the boy is alive and kicking AND happy. Our western medicine and eastern medicine docs communicate and work together to keep my boy as healthy as he can be. He has a couple of very serious conditions that have to be address from time to time but the combination of eastern and western meds have been phenomenal. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Bittan, you won't be sorry.

He received necessary procedures including blood transfusion to stabilize his condition. I did not want to leave him at ER for more tests and observations because I have never had any pets survived ER stays. We did receive blood transfusion and medications which seemed to be working and were told that he needed medical attention in order to survive. Since his regular vet was helpless, I decided to look into alternatives. I found this place on Yelp with raving reviews, and like most pet owners in desperate situations, I decided to give it a try. I first spoke with I believe her name was Lyric. She was very charming and well spoken, and made an appointment immediately. I also recieved a call from Yael after I emailed over my cat's medical records and was told that she thinks my cat simply had urinary track infection and she can help. During our visit, Yael and Lyric worked together and performed a basic exam, then I was told that we need a biofeedback scan which will tell us exactly what's going on. This " procedure " consist of sticking two wet pads somewhere on the underside of my cat, and the wires connected the wet pads to a laptop which supposedly would feed all the information to a program. I thought that seemed overly simple, but I was in a state of panic, I chose to believe it's some advanced science that I didn't understand. I was told that they will rush the result but it will be later that evening or next day. Then Yael proceeded to prescribe a list of remedies which is mostly supplements including a jar of homemade yogurt. The visit, including all the remedies I was told were necessary, came to just under $700. They also only accept cash or Zelle payments, no credit cards. The instruction I was given was to stop the medicationd from ER immediately and only take what was prescribed by Yael, and I did. At home, shortly after I gave my cat what Yael prescribed, he started vomiting violently and was visibly weaker. I call and told Yael what was happening and was met with loud, non-stop yelling, telling me that her remedies were right and I must follow her instructions. The biofeedback report showed pages of colorful breakdown and included readings of "pepsine secretion coefficient" and "small intestine peristalsis function" values, plus "protien metabolism value", "liver fat content value", plus kidney, lung function analysis, even blood circulation system analysis, etc. This program of theirs can read all these from two wet pad sticked to the skin of my cat? I ultimately decided to consult with a licensed vet, and luckily I found Dr. Sharp from a referral, and my cat's conditions improved without complications within days at a quarter of the cost. He is healthy and happy today. As pet parents, we are vulnerable to be taken advantage of when our pets become critically ill. I hope my experience can be helpful to anyone in similar situation and can make proper decisions for both your pets and you.
