I have taken two cars to it, a Porsche Cayenne TurboP and more recently a Porsche Panamera Turbo. It does not advertise for Porsche work, but it in fact is willing to work on them. I have always found this repair shop to be honest and fairly priced. On the Cayenne, at one point it looked like I was going to need an expensive brake repair, and it could have gotten away with charging me a lot, but upon further investigation, it was not that big of a deal and turned out to be a fairly cheap repair. It was even more dramatic for the Panamera. A local Porsche dealership told me I needed a new water pump and work on the vacuum system for a cost of $5500! I was skeptical, because the car was not running hot as would be typical for a failing water pump. Bavarian Auto Works checked it out and concluded no work was needed and charged me under $200! An oil change is about half of what is charged by the dealership. I am not letting anyone else touch my Porsche! read more

Jason has been working on my BMWs, and now my Minis for nearly five years. His shop is super clean and he has always exceeded expectation. The work is done right, on time (usually quicker), and always well within what was estimated. And there have even been a few times when I expected the bill to be higher. Everything from oil changes to a complete top end rebuild on my E34 have been done right. A few years ago when my wife's X1 was at the dealer FOR A MONTH due to low speed drivability issues, Jason figured out quickly that the car only needed a new set of spark plugs! And said BMW was still under warranty. I haven't been back to the dealer since, regardless of the "Free BMW Maintenance." I won't let Portland BMW touch my cars. I had the best experience with Jason at BAW!!! My first time there. To start-- his shop and waiting room is CLEAN! First way to tell if a mechanic is serious. Although it is small with two lifts, the cleanliness represents the quality. Jason sorted out my 535 very quickly. I had my car towed to the shop with a difficult issue of water in the battery compartment and it also needed regular scheduled maint. As advertised, he uses OEM parts which is critical for these cars. He showed me the failed part in person when I picked it up. Get this---- My scheduled maintenance code said to change engine oil and brake fluid. My car has low miles. He told me he tested the brake fluid and it is fine and he didn't feel it was needed at that time. I also overheard him talking to another customer about their older car while I was there. He was extremely polite and honest about their situation with their car. I HIGHLY recommend taking your BMW or Merc to his shop. I've previously owned a 740, X5, 335, 325, 650, and now a 535 BMW. I know about the maintenance required for these wonderful cars. My previous maint was done in another state, but I had the best experience so far with Jason at BAW! He totally knows these cars. I'm also going to take my 2006 Merc C230 to have him look at it and change the oil so I can keep it in top shape. read more

I keep taking cars with serious problems to this place and I keep getting pristine cars back. I took in a car that maybe had 10+ errors/warnings. Get the car back and it is flawless. soooo I take them this speciality car. No mechanic likes working on it. It has a complicated parasitic drain. Get the car back, literally has never died on me. I left keys in the car, car is fine. Seriously, this car was dying 3 times a month and now it literally doesn't ever die. I have no clue what this mechanic does to my cars but his touch is impeccable. He fixes issues that should kill my cars. Legendary mechanics here. Very slow turn around on your car though, just be patient. Totally worth it. read more

They were able to bring back to life a very neglected SLK that we have. After sitting for months in the elements, three of the computer modules had water damage. It wasn't going to be an easy diagnostic or repair. Took a bit but my wife is happy to have her toy back and in great working order! As far as the customer service aspect.... Excellent service, excellent knowledge, serviced my 2010 e90 and gave me great advice on how to keep it running at top levels. I have owned several BMW's over the years, and know quite a bit myself, as it pays to be informed. Do your preventative maintenance , and your BMW will never let you down. I have owned an e-21 / E-30 / and my latest is an e-90. I have been fortunate to have purchased all these cars from the original owners, and cared for them as best as possible. I have to disagree with the other reviews. I just bought my first BMW and an idiot light came on. This was the closest shop to where I live. Jason came it to my car explained everything to me and showed me how to work my car! I then made an appt with him for the next Friday. Went in and he was extremely professional. He had made coffee and offered me a cup with real creamer. Brought me out to show me some other things he found, called and got me q quote for new tires. He came in with a lower price that what he originally told me which saved me about $50! I really thought for a one man shop it was very neat and clean. Zero customer service skills, great at what he dose if you can actually get an appointment. maybe hire someone to answer the phone as every interaction over the phone is rude and apparently interrupting his day. before this shop he worked from his garage, back then he was great, super knowledgeable and friendly, wanted to continue doing business with him always, as I'm a avid BMW fan:) but every since his upgrade to a shop, I can't even get an appointment for anything without getting an attitude like I'm bugging him with my issues. Great customer service. Brake light went out on my GL550 and I stopped by without an appointment. Technician came out and replaced a light bulb right on the spot and no charge. That is an awesome service and no need to drive to Wilsonville MB dealership. Next time I will need any other work on my MB this will be first place I will take it. read more

I called Jason a few times before I took my car to him; and he was a little short, but, he did answer every question I had, even before I was a customer. That being said, when I got into a little accident, I took the car right to him. He earned my business, not because he was a smiley friendly guy, but because he knew what he was talking about. Being in sales, I can appreciate friendly customer service. But what really counts is the work. You can smile all day long in my face, but if you are not doing what you say, that doesn't mean jack. I picked my car up and the steering and handling was better than ever. I drive an E60 530i. Anything I cant do, I will take to Jason. If you are looking to save $$$, either learn to do the work yourself, or buy a Honda. read more

Dude needs to learn some PR skills. Only had one service completed, had three in-person interactions altogether. Came over to him originally since he quoted me $200 cheaper than regular mechanic and had good reviews online. Ended up costing me $200 more than quoted (although I was pre-warned and there was a legitimate issue that need to be fixed). Job done within the time frame given. Only reason I won't go back is customer relation skills. Doesn't make you feel very good when someone looks at you like you're a nuisance to them. Would rather spend a little more money to be treated better. read more

I have to echo the sentiments of the first reviewer. I can't speak for his work, as I will not be spending a dime at his shop. I went in for 3 quotes on preventative maintenance items. The owner was completely condescending during our entire interaction. He literally mocked me for not knowing how or when certain parts should be changed. Hey man, I'm not a BMW mechanic, if I was I wouldn't have been there in the first place. This is my 3rd BMW so I DO have a general idea of when certain work should be done. I was willing to spend more to go somewhere else....so, took my car to a different, very reputable European auto shop and got the same quotes. We would give a 10 star rating. Jason has always accommodated my work schedule; sometimes offering to drive me to my work location on occasion so I would be on time for a scheduled early AM meeting. He charged me a fair value for services rendered. Considering my "always urgent needs"; Jason could have charged additional fees, however he has never charged for my urgency. Jason is now servicing our second BMW vehicle. We would not be comfortable at this time or in the future taking my personal/work vehicle anywhere else! Came in for a diagnostic on my BMW cause my check engine light was on and paid over $400 with diagnostic to get it fixed and made my car worse. The owner had a big ego and didn't seem to care. Had to take my car in again. He then wanted to charge me for another diagnostic and said it would be another $500 to fix the actual problem. I've taken my Mercedes-Benz GL450 to BAW several times, and have always felt like Jason knew his stuff, charged fairly, and got the work done on time and budget. I've read a couple of reviews questioning his customer service, but first, I don't want my mechanic to be a slick salesman. I want him to know what he's doing and charge a fair price. I'm not paying for his smile. Second, when I've needed him, when my vehicle needed him, he's made time for me on a quick turn and helped me get moving again. THAT'S great customer service.
