This is a terrible shop! Absolutely the worst experience ever! Cory is a hot head that doesn't necessarily get the right answers and then instead of working through the issues he blames the customer! He is absolutely the worst manager and should not be in business. When he is angry with a customer he slams doors and acts in threatening ways with a gun in his rafters and a hole in his front window. It's just time for Cory to sell his shop and move on. He needs to realize that the labor per hour difference between Cory's car care and Lexus is only 19 per hour. While at Lexus I get a loaner vehicle that's a new Lexus! They have a clean customer service lounge with free beverages and doughnuts, Lexus of Portland is amazing! Why is Cory's car care trying to compete? I originally started going to Cory's in the fall of 2020 for minor things like transmission oil and filter changes. Struts on my Toyota Avalon; Little stuff; Cory much like biff in back to the future would often get things wrong and you have to kind of stand there with him so he will stay focused on the issue until he realizes what the real problem is. It never was a professional experience. But I thought it was a way to help a family business stay in business. However, he isn't even owning up to his failed installation of parts at this point. He's trying to fraud people on their work warranty and refusing to complete the repairs. He can't legally do this. Personally, Cory is off his rocker! This shop has integrity, honesty and I would highly recommend them. it may be a small shop but the mechanics really know what they're doing. I took my car in when the 'check engine' light came on and then the brakes were locking up. Easy, fast and inexpensive fix! so we took my husband's car in because the right headlight wasn't working. We were told we needed a new right headlight assembly (a bulb replacement didn't work). Also the headlights had been monkeyed with by two different shops, resulting in them being worse! Making night driving dangerous. Cory's shop told us it was just a fuse! Fixed and adjusted the headlights easily and fast! Now we definitely know the other two shops were trying to take advantage of us. Finally a shop we can trust!! read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH CORY'S CAR CARE ESPECIALLY IF YOU OWN A VW.  Recently, I needed a mechanic ASAP.  Cory said they could fix the issue with my car, however they "fixed" the wrong issue; in fact, it was something which did not need to be fixed at all.  He admitted he did not truly know what the actual issue was, so they took a shot in the dark; their meaningless services cost me $395 while it cost me $420 to get the actual issue fixed by a true VW mechanic.  Once I addressed this with Cory, he refused to reasonably listen to me and gave the impression I was attempting to scam him.  If I had paid with my credit card, I would have contacted the credit card company and informed them of Cory's fraudulent behavior.  Avoid Cory's Car Care at all costs. read more

Out of every mechanic and mechanic shop I've ever dealt with, Corey's is BY FAR the best I've ever been too. Not only did the gentleman take his time with explaining what was wrong with my vehicle, he broke down the costs as well. Explaining what he would need, and what it was for. Today was the second time I've received service at Corey's, and they were able to accommodate me with picking up my vehicle as I've got a wacky schedule. I called around to get my vehicle serviced (regular maintenance) and was quoted $230-$350 to get the transmission fluid changed as well as the filter. When I called Corey's they priced the service $100 cheaper than the cheapest quote I had received from other shops. Not only is this quality work that's been done, but it's affordable and you aren't getting charged for ridiculous unnecessary things. read more

Extreme lack of professionalism and car knowledge, I sent my vehicle in there to have a simple distributor cap put on. In the end the mechanic over tightened and destroyed my distributor. So instead of fixing it they told me to drive it home with it broken. I barely made it home ended up having to get a rental car. they told me that they would fix it, and considering I already paid $300 I thought I'd give him another opportunity to make it right. After bringing it back they decided to charge me another $200 for a distributor they broke. Now I'm into a distributor cap for $500 because the original distributor cap job was $300 and 200 for a new distributor as well as 200 for a rental car. A month and a half later my vehicle breaks down. Knowing I'm not going to take it back to this shop because it's obviously they have no clue what they're doing. I take it to CG Autowerks! Clint at CG Autowerks is the best mechanic in Vancouver. He informed me that the distributor and distributor cap that was used was a Chinese mass produced unit and actually only cost 125.00 for both cap and distributor. So why was I charged 500 at Corey's? They only had the vehicle for 2 hours total! Clint ordered me a genuine GM distributor and distributor cap and the vehicle has been fine ever since and that was 6 months ago. So if you're reading this review don't bother, go straight to CG Autowerks and get it done right the first time. CG Autowerks will only charge you for the work done not for stuff they broke! So, a really long story, I'll spare you the details. What started as a water pump problem turned out to be a larger issue. As Cory's crew worked to get it fixed, Murphy's law kicked in and no matter what anyone did, it just got worse. I have an older car with relatively low miles. Recently, my ABS light went on. I took it to a shop I used previously. The quote was $1400. to replace sensors. After 2 days, they still hadn't repaired it. I was there when they finally put in 1 sensor. It took 15 minutes. I was to bring it back the next week to finish the work. Instead, after reading excellent reviews about Cory's, I took it here for a quote. I was able to get a quote for the same work from the other shop, minus the 1 sensor. In addition, Cory would repair my gas tank float, which the other shop wanted several hundred to fix a year ago. Cory's quote was just over $400. That included the gas float. I appreciated Cory's explanation of what needed fixing. And what didn't. Appointment made. Car fixed. And I have a new mechanic. If you've been given a fast-talking run-around by another shop, do yourself a favor and take your car to Cory's. You'll be happy you did. read more

Took my recently purchased 2008 Mustang to Cory's Car Care to have them look over the car and service a couple of systems. Nice people, reasonably priced and from all appearances quality work. It was all good until it wasn't!! Got the car home and while washing it later that day, I found a small dent in the driver's door. Took the car in this morning to have them take a look at it. What they did was have me watch a video from their security system. The camera is positioned in the front of the car bay with a top down view. They opened the driver's door 3 times. During one of those times the door contacted something and the door stopped moving. You cannot tell from the camera angle what stopped the door. Not only would Cory's Car Care not take ownership of this damage. The son shared a story of how some "other" customer tried to say they damaged their car and how luckily he had video showing the damage was already there. Sensing a pattern!? I felt like he told me that story because he thought I was trying to do the same thing. Using a poor camera angle to identify an issue that occurred on the side of the car is not clear proof. What it gave Cory's was the option to say there was no definitive proof (no smoking gun) that they caused the damage. But, as far as I'm concerned, it also proves just the opposite, there is no definitive proof that they did not. Something hit the door and it stopped! Walks like a duck, sounds like a duck....you know the rest. Thought I found a reputable place to take my car for servicing. Even told them I would refer them to my friends and family. Of course, I won't be doing that now! Any legitimate business owner would have treated me with more dignity and not some con-artist trying to rip him off. They made no offer to help rectify this situation. So now what was a great looking Mustang that is/was in magnificent shape (the owner even said so) is damaged and I'm left paying for the damage. Cory's Car Care is housed in a very small building and they have 3 lifts. There is very little room to work on the cars in their shop. And upon reflection it is no surprise that my car ended up being damaged because of the limited space in their shop. My advice, videotape your vehicle so you have evidence of any damage they might cause, because they more than likely will blame you!! read more
