This was the first time that we had been to this bakery and deli. As soon as we walked in, we knew that this find would be a keeper. The selection of bakery options were amazing! We bought an apple coffee cake to take to our friend's house. The cake that was moist and delicious. We also ordered sandwiches that were delicious. Pastries and other sweets are the best! I'm a reuben sandwich lover and their's is very light on meat. I order double meat and it is still barely enough. Yesterday my reuben had no sauerkraut or thousand island, just pastrami and cheese on what might have been rye bread - it didn't taste like rye, think they substituted it. This is my absolute favorite bakery in town. The owners are super friendly and will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Their bread selection is quite diverse, with each day featuring one special flavor. Today was their meat and cheese loaf. Parmesan, cheddar, ham, pepperoni and salami are baked into the bread, and it is delicious!! It makes a perfect grilled cheese this evening for dinner. If you have never been, I highly recommend going earlier in the day; since most items appear to be made daily, if you come near closing time, the selection is usually limited. I came back for a third time today. I wanted to try the special of the day (sourdough), but it was sold out by 12pm; definitely need to come back earlier next week. I was craving something light and not too sweet this time. I got a slice of this apple crumble bread (can't remember the name, it's not coffee bread). It's a thick piece of dense yet soft bread topped with a slightly sweet, cinnamon, tart apple crumble. It's was exactly what I was craving and very good. For people who don't like a lot of bread, they have other apple crumble type pastry options but if you're like me and live for bread and other carbs, this is worth trying. I tried this place for the first time this afternoon. I went around 2 pm and there was still a decent selection. I got a slice of raspberry chocolate cake and carrot cake. The chocolate cake was very good -- moist, rich chocolate flavor and had just the right amount of icing/frosting. It didn't have that odd after taste that cakes from other bakeries have. I could really taste the raspberry flavor but it wasn't overpowering. Overall, simply delicious! I haven't tried the carrot cake yet, but am looking forward to it! The price seemed reasonable for the quality and portion. I'm looking forward to returning. read more

I found this cute Bakery by using Yelp. I truly thought it would be one of those places where everything looks picture perfect but doesn't taste good. I was so wrong. Everything looks beautiful and taste even better. Between me and my friend we got 1 chocolate eclair, 1 piece of carrot cake, 1 piece of chocolate cake with raspberry topping and one single serving of pineapple upside down cake. We were traveling and didn't actually get to eat our goodies until 2 days later. Everything was absolutely delicious. Fresh and icings were not to sweet. Oh my goodness their cinnamon rolls are incredible. I've also had a cheese pastry, very good, not overly sweet like most places.

I am truly disappointed with my first and possible only experience with the Bavarian Bakery. My mother pre ordered, specifically for Mother's Day, macaroons. The ad posted online was very deceiving. For the price ($18) the macaroons were extremely small, they did nothing to try and make them "look" pretty packaging wise, the owner was very dismissive when I asked if they were made in the bakery (they weren't) and today when we went try try them they are somehow dry, yet chewy depending on the flavor. read more

Looks can certainly be deceiving. Upon walking into this bakery -- after a 45-minute drive just to sample what this place had to offer -- we were confronted with a display case full of delicious-looking items. We walked out with all sorts of goodies as well as an Italian and a Pumpernickel loaf. When we got home, we couldn't wait to try the pastries. Stale. Every last one of them. My wife was able to eat one of the almond croissants after slicing it and adding butter -- barely a hint of almond paste, but that was about it. The eclairs were obviously old, the Berliners stale and both loaves hard as hell. I didn't try any of the other items, but my wife did and declared them to be stale as well. All of it straight into the garbage. Before I posted this, my wife emailed one of the owners to raise her concerns and was fobbed off with a response that we must have patronized a different establishment. We certainly didn't, we were at this place, but the email matched the snotty attitude of the person who waited on us at the bakery. read more
