This place is absolutely terrible. By terrible I don't mean terrible in the normal sense of bad food and service, more so that the entire place was one big failure. Some background on the night was that me and a bunch of friends took a large party bus to eat there. This was supposed to be a great birthday meal for one of my friends, but it turned into the meal from hell. It started off with simply terrible service, where it took around 30 minutes to get our first round. Then once we got that round, the electricity went out in the place. They quickly went to a back-up generator for the lights, but there was still no AC!! The place started burning up, and it got so hot that they opened up a door that was right next to the smoking section, so the whole place smelled of cigarettes. Then after another hour of our waitress running around with her head cut off, she took our orders. Now, we rented the bus for three hours, yet at the end of those three hours half of the people hadn't received food yet. We asked the owner Jeurgen if he could help pay for the extra hour (it was now pushing 3 hours with no food!) and he did not offer to do anything for us. The restaurant was empty and the band had left because it was so hot, yet we were being held captive waiting for our food. Yet the real fun part came when it came to the checks... The restaurants machines went down so they spent the better part of an hour writing all of our orders down manually. Then they had us give them our cards which they would copy down, but not process until their machines went back up. Unfortunately, they did not have menu prices on their items, so they didn't even know our totals. To have us pay then, they had everyone sign a copy of their receipt without the actual totals on them! Are you kidding me? this was the most disrespectful thing I had ever seen. We are there for 4 hours, half of us not even getting food, and now they want everyone to sign a blank check. Now I've been to restaurants where bad things happen, but its the way they handled it that made this place truly the worst experience of my entire life. They never once offered to pay part of the bill, help pay for the bus, or even apologize once for what happened. We took a party bus to their establishment, and somehow its our fault that we need to leave after 4 hours of getting no service, baking in the heat, and then having to sign checks with no totals. If you have made it to the end of this long review, I beg of you, please do not give these criminals any of your money. There are too many restaurants in DFW to have to submit your self to this torture. read more

Date Visited: 10/23/15 This was my first time visiting Bavarian Grill. I was here on work from out of town and the family I was staying with had reservations. -- Atmosphere: 5/5 My first observation was that everyone was dressed in German attire, chairs and decor was setup as if you stepped into Germany, Close seating, wooden decor, train sets, live accordionist, etc. The dining room setup was a little cluttered for my taste, and I felt like I was eating with other people at times, but I feel this is supposed to be an exact replica of a large restaurant in Germany, so I was okay with it. -- Menu options: 5/5 October means Oktoberfest, and they have all sorts of new schnitzel that are only around during this month. Now, I have never had schnitzel, however they had all sorts like fish and veggie varieties. The restaurant itself also has a separate vegetarian menu, and gluten-free menu, which I was especially excited about, and great selection also! -- Meal: 4/5 Started out by serving the table pretzel rolls(served warm) with butter as well as regular pretzels. Mustard upon request. The party I was with ordered whole liters of German beer, which came out as large glass mugs. We did not get appetizers. I ordered the Veggie Tofuwurst bratwurst, which came with one smoked and one bier brat.. They had the consistency and texture of exactly what you would take a veggie sausage to be like, a little dry and flavorless, but still good smokey flavor to compliment the sides of mashed potatoes and sauerkraut, which were alright. served with a side of spicy mustard. Overall, the meal was great, but not awesome, I feel that the schnitzel is the prize of the restaurant, which I will have to try in a veggie/fish option some day. -- Service: 5/5 Harland was probably one of the best servers I had ever had at a restaurant in a long time. Very genuine, very helpful, and a very positive attitude. Our party had children that were not keen to German cuisine, and he did a great job at answering there questions, and describing what things were to them. It seemed very personable whenever he was around. Harland is what made the experience worth it. -- The Bavarian Grill is great, but not cheap, and an excursion everyone must experience. We recently visited Bavarian Grill with a party of 15, excited to enjoy an evening of food, drinks, and camaraderie. We ordered appetizers, drinks, and full meals for everyone, but unfortunately, the experience turned sour due to a lack of understanding and compassion from the staff. Our son suffers from ARFID (Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder), a recognized mental health condition that significantly limits his ability to eat a wide variety of foods. ARFID is not a choice or a preference; it is a serious mental health disorder that requires specific accommodations. When dining out, we often need to bring food for him to ensure he can safely participate in the experience, something that has never been an issue at other establishments. However, despite explaining this to the manager, they insisted we remove him and his food from the premises, citing legal reasons. This response felt discriminatory and dismissive of a legitimate medical need. Instead of understanding and flexibility, we were met with rigidity and exclusion. Our family was humiliated, and what was supposed to be a joyful gathering turned into a frustrating ordeal. We drove 1.5 hours to dine here, but we won't make that trip again. It's incredibly disappointing that Bavarian Grill chose to prioritize a strict policy over inclusivity and compassion. For a business in the hospitality industry, this was anything but hospitable. If you're looking for a place that respects and accommodates all patrons, this is not it. read more

It certainly is a lovely place with a really inviting atmosphere... it is clean and the servers are well groomed as well so I'm giving them one star for their hygiene. Food is definitely a must try! Love the dishes and drinks here plus they have a wide food selection to offer,we tried out most of the dishes because we come here often and all of it tasted great, so another 2 stars for the great food that never fails. And since I paid for something that's absolutely delicious and came with a great service so that's an additional star. And because of the fact that everything's just great here, then that's 5 stars all in all.! And when you eat here, you'll surely keep on coming back, just like me. I am a HUGE fan of this place. Yes, the atmosphere is fantastic, and it's impossible not to feel in touch with the Teutonic as soon as you set foot in the biergarten, but there's so much more going on here. Juergen is always a welcoming presence, greeting customers in an affable way, and the knowledgeable staff can speak articulately about everything from spargel to hefeweizen. (Apparently, one's asparagus and the other is a beer.) I myself really love the rinder rouladen, an almost brisket-like coil of beer wrapped around a pickle and seasoned with brown gravy and minced onion. I'm not sure what the German word for awesome is but I'd apply it here. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

This place could only be better if Vlad was still here. I used to wake up thinking of that hunk walking around in his flashy green vest. Soooo dreamy :). Oh! the way he would dominate me by telling me exactly what delicious beer I wanted to drink and what succulent entree I wanted to devour. I sit back in my little nook in the corner by the bathrooms watching anxiously as he makes his figure 8 through the dining room, visiting with other guests as though there was instant chemistry between them. We had a fantastic experience at Bavarian Grill! I ordered the Jägerschnitzel, and my wife had the fish--both dishes were full of authentic flavor and perfectly cooked. We shared the Apfelstrudel for dessert, and it was absolutely fantastic--easily one of the best we've ever had. The ambiance truly transports you to Germany. From the charming little train running overhead to the beautiful artwork and décor celebrating German culture, every detail adds to the experience. My German boyfriend said this place subpar. They wouldn't last in Germany. The performer was a weirdo racist man who dressed in a weird dread hat to impersonate Bob Marley (in a German restaurant???), so I don't know what was up with that- but that was odd behaviour to say the least. The server seemed nice, but stopped by like twice and we were there 2 hours and had no food for one hour. We didn't get our entrees for an hour plus in. The strudel was good though. This comes as close as humanly possible to the incredible German food my Omi used to whip up. In addition to the great eats, there's a good selection of beer, a fun atmosphere complete with live music, and a super friendly staff. We chose to sit outside to be near the live performance which was a great call. We got the Irish Flag ($20) which is a flight of 3 tea shots in green, orange, and white tea. It was pretty light but fun to try. We then saw our friends sharing a frozen margarita that looked too good to pass up so we ordered one too. I cannot believe they are only $10 because they are huge and definitely meant for sharing. They have a few flavors to choose from and I do not remember which one we got but it was good and strong in the best way. It sneaks up on you. No brain freeze either which was a bonus and it put us in a great mood for the rest of the night.
