We went in to buy an suv from this location. We had a wonderful experience at a different CarMax in California so we were pretty sold on buying from the company again. Unfortunately, this decision ended up becoming a nightmare for over 2 months. Long story short - We bought the car and on the 8th day after our purchase, two engine/system problem lights came on. CarMax has a "warranty" so we took it in and the service person couldn't "recreate the problem" and the light would not go on again. I went to go pick it up, and yes you guessed it, the light came on again (in their parking lot). They kept it again and was baffled mostly because they are NOT a mechanic's shop. They did not have the proper equipment to run a diagnostic per Honda's specs and needed the correct machine to read Honda error codes. They finally took it to the Honda dealership in Dothan and they determined that an alternator plug was loose... they returned it to me convinced that there was nothing more they could do. 3 days later, my light came on again. I was already without my car for almost 2 weeks and was tired of dealing with their incompetence so I took it into Sam Boswell in Enterprise. $1,000 later out of my pocket, they replaced the alternator and voila! Everything was fixed. CarMax mishandled this on so many levels. They sold me a car without properly inspecting it and proved to be incapable of solving the simplest problem (corporate gives them no power to resolve problems) and we will never buy from them again.

No one came out to show us which cars and we had no way of knowing since there were several Camrys and kias. Car shopping is stressful enough so there's no way I'm going to waste my time confused and feeling unwelcome. Very disappointed because there were some nice vehicles and seemed to have good reviews. I purchased a Jeep Cherokee at my local dealership (East Alabama) December 2017. By May 2018, I had…read morenoticed paint was chipping and peeling in several areas around my headlights. Not only does it look bad, but I was concerned about rusting in the future. I went by the dealership and showed it to the service manager, and forwarded my pictures to him. Over the next few months, I would email and touch base to see if he had contacted the manufacturer. No response. I later dealt with his replacement, again no help. I contacted Daimler Chrysler about the paint problem, and was told I would have to go through the service manager. Once I forwarded copies of email, etc. to Daimler, they reached out to the second service manager I'd been dealing with. You would think he would be proactive at this time, as I'd already dealt with him face to face, sent pics, and followed up occasionally. I waited another 3-4 weeks, and he still hadn't done anything! SIX MONTHS of a run around with two SM on an almost $30,000 vehicle I had purchased from them. Fast forward, and I go by Dothan Chrysler Jeep and speak with their service manager John Nichols. FINALLY! Someone who gives a $&@!, and I didn't even purchase from them. I've got an appointment to have my Cherokee worked on, and finally a resolution in sight. I'm glad I'll be able to wash my Cherokee and not cringe when I look at these dang headlights. Rant over (drop mic, exit stage).
